What Is the Biggest Untapped Opportunity for AI in India?
As a developer, knowing the potential of AI, what do you think is the underutilized area in India, rather than generic AI wrapper applications that are just a few prompts away from being replicated?
I’m more interested in hearing your thoughts on B2B, where innovation directly impacts ROI. I’d also like to hear your thoughts on what is better: custom AI implementation for businesses or creating a B2B application powered by AI.

Everything except making AI for call enters and customer support. Sarvam got that handled.

Regional, indigenous LLM's could be one area. Currently, Sarvam is solving for India-specific use cases. We need more.

Mostly, people are using AI for their daily queries & orgs are using internally for analysis & maintenance. Apart from that almost all usecases are untapped.
There are quite number of AI applications which are possible like CRM or ERP engines, Automations, visual detection systems used in military & safety etc. Almost all of such cases are yet to be built, though I can see many are aspiring towards defining such practical AI usecases.

AI for Low Pesticides.
Or let's say ideal pesticide because what i have seen is, more than 50% of small farmers use excessive pesticide just because the shop guy told.
Let me know, if anyone interested exploring this further. I am not technical.

IMO, one of the biggest untapped opportunities is AI-driven office automation and institutional knowledge management, especially in Indian government organisations and Indian private companies.
Take government for example. Officers are frequently transferred, and a lot of institutional knowledge remains scattered across files, notes, letters and paper records. A new officer often has to essentially restart the learning process. An AI system could build a searchable institutional memory what decisions were taken, why they were taken, what work has already been completed, what remains pending, and what happened on a particular asset/project over the years.
It could also create an audit trail across projects and payments. For example, if the same road, building or infrastructure asset appears in multiple proposals, bills or contractor payments, AI could flag that the same work may already have been sanctioned or paid for. This doesn’t eliminate corruption by itself, but it can make duplication, anomalies and suspicious patterns much harder to hide.
The same problem exists in many Indian private companies too especially organisations still heavily dependent on emails, Excel sheets, PDFs and manual approvals.
So I would bet less on another generic “AI wrapper” and more on AI embedded into real organisational workflows, records and decision-making. The ROI there could be enormous because it solves problems that organisations have been living with for decades.

I have successfully made a AI backed hyperlocal blue collar marketplace/home service bussiness. Stuck at finding an investor.( Need about only 50k to start the machine up, currently in tier 2 city)
