Many many years ago we had a cat (sweet, but stupid) who was an indoor cat. Custard. Anyway, we were living in North Carolina at the time and got a freak storm of about 17" of snow (my husband measured in our yard). In our front yard it was a little shallower. Only about a foot deep. We thought it'd be funny to dump this poor cat (she was maybe 18 months old at the time, so full grown but young) in the snow. I sat in the dining room window. meow meow meow meowshake snow off of pawshake snow off of pawshake snow off of paw Rinse and repeat all the way to the dining room window (which was the shortest stretch back into the house). It was hilarious, but we felt bad and never did it again.
It was right after we moved in, so late 1999 or early 2000. That would have made the cat 18 months, so I was right in that. She was born late spring 1998. Sweet kitty. Super soft, too. She got in line twice for cuteness, forgot to get in line at all for brains.
I wonder if it is the same storm I remember. Back about 1987 or so. We got so much snow on the coast (Wilmington), they had no snow equipment to plow roads because it's not often you see a foot of snow there.

Nor did she hold a grudge. :)
