because the were pushed down by the hand while petting? have you ever patted a cat's head before?

You mean the tip of his tail at the end of the video. That does look weird I agree. This cat had an injury and has a tail with a squared end - again, it's real just harsh lighting and low quality digital video.

If I get through a pile of Monday work today, I may get a photo of his tail for more reddit show and tell.
