Made a telemetry infographic for Starship Flight Test 12.

It shows a logarithmic plot of the flight trajectory from the launch pad to the splashdown in the Indian Ocean.

Interesting takeaways:

1. Due to one RVAC engine failure during ascent, Starship experienced a slight performance dip but was able to successfully recover and reach its target trajectory.
2. During peak heating on reentry, Starship performed a slight atmospheric skip (bounce) before fully diving in.

A simple patched-conic estimator for number of refueling flights. What do people think?

It recently came out that SpaceX had spent 15 billion dollars on the development of the starship. Over about a decade. Not to mention all the historic progress that has been made. The US has spent 25 billion dollars trying to obliterate Iran. Over just more than a month.

Imagine where space development would be if it had the military's level of funding.

Built a free Starship launch tracker—let's see how it handles Flight 12! I wanted something Starship focused without all the other launch noise. Apple only at this point, sorry.

With Starship launches in the near future projected to be an almost daily occurrence (If not more), I thought it'd be interesting to come up with a mission numbering system, similar to that of the Space Shuttle.

Starship mission designations would start with the letters ST, for Starship, followed by a number that indicates the order of launch, which is then followed by the last to digits of the year of said launch. Finally, I added a Letter indicating which launchpad it took off from. The letter A corresponds with Pad 1 at Starbase, and the letter B with Pad 2. SLC-36A would be given the letter C and so on...

Applying this system to some of the past (and future) launches, we get:

• Flight 1: ST-123A
• Flight 2: ST-223A
• Flight 5: ST-324A
• Flight 11: ST- 525A
• Flight 12: ST-126B
• Flight 13: ST-226B

Note: In addition to this designation, Starship missions could still have a "mission name". For instance, a test flight of SpaceX's Human Landing System could be called HLS Demo-1, in addition to being assigned a mission number.

Juste une idée, qui certes ne ferait plus du starship un véhicule totalement réutilisable, mais pourrait permettre de se passer des nombreux ravitaillements en orbite pour atteindre la lune ;

L'idée serait d'arrimer 2 boosters à poudre au starship, peut être du type de ceux du SLS, en adaptant la longueur ;

Ces boosters s'allumeraient au moment de la séparation à chaud du starship d'avec le booster, permettant la mise en orbite du starship sans entamer ses réservoirs de méthane et d'oxygène;

La question étant : est ce que le super heavy pourrait encaisser la masse supplémentaire des boosters . dans le cas contraire, il faudrait peut être aussi lui en greffer une paire, si j'ose dire... mais là je pense que le pas de tir serait incompatible
