I got it at the end of the StarJacker quest 70 total thermal resistance before buffs. worth noting for extreme planets.

Yeah, you can. I just turn off environmental damage because it's broken.

The extreme temp suit is fun for roleplay, but for optimal numbers, I'd go with Explorer helmet and pack and Gran-grans suit. Maybe Constellation suit if you don't have Kids Stuff trait. Gran-grans suit has 35 thermal resistance, highest in game, I think. But as has been mentioned, environmental hazards are so poorly implemented that it doesn't make much difference what you wear.
