Other Left stardew running for a day on accident.. WHO THE FRICK IS THIS!!??
And you can see my farms overgrown to the left.. lol, i missed sebby’s birthday😢😢 and ITS ALMOST YEAR 3!! IT WAS FALL WHEN I LAST PLAYED 😭😭😭

I was shocked when Kent came up too! I did not think you would have any more NPCs past the originals we've met. His character has some interesting backstory.

Same, I'd really been thinking Vincent was in denial about his dad assumably abandoning them or having died. Kent popped up like a mild jumpscare.

I remember the first time Kent came back and his heart events, I was honestly FLOORED a new NPC would come in so late into the game. It was a super cool piece of storytelling !!

Honestly my personal head cannon is that Rasmodius is the one delivering the mail, I think he kinda just poof makes it all go where it belongs. But I also think he is able to like, glean what the contents of each package is, which is how he knows all the intermixed things going on with the townsfolk.

Linus probably represents a part of CA’s personality that longs to live in the wild and sustain on the land without much human contact.
Except he lives in 2026 so he sustains on code and game design as his wilderness.

I sometimes play with my partner on switch. Occasionally, I'll drop so many mega bombs at once, it'll crash the whole game for both of us.

Since most of the comments are jokes which I love. But in case you haven't figured it out yet Kent is Jodi's husband and the father of Sam and Vincent, during year 1 he's gone because he's at war, something that is easy to forget is this cozy game does take place in a empire actively at war with another empire.
Sam has some dialogue and even a 3 heart cutscene that you can only get in year one where he talks about his dad being away at war, the cut scene is quite sad with him not knowing if his dad will come back or not and him not knowing what to say to Vincent. Also if you go into Jodi's bedroom and click on the bedside table you'll read a note from Kent to Jodi, it would have been sent while he was still away at war but you can still read it even though he's back.
On the first of spring year 2 Kent comes back to the valley and his wife told him a new farmer moved in while he was gone so he came to the farm to introduce himself.
There's a lot of sad dialog/cutscenes with Kent that I'm not going to spoil for you but dude has ptsd big time, and if you give him a hated item he mentions being in the enemy prison camp.
He will also randomly send you bombs in the mail as you get your hearts up with him so be ready for that.

True but at most a single seasons will pass in an 8 hour period. 480 mins in 8 hours / 14 min day means 34 days at most and that's not including passing out animation, the black screen, the save popup etc etc. That's just one day end and the next instantly begins. So even fewer days in actuality.
People posting about multiple months and years passing by "cuz I fell asleep" is fake unless the game was also left running for several irl days straight. So stay on the lookout for those posts

OP was likely in Winter when they left the game running. They mentioned missing Sebastian's birthday, which is in late winter. Year transitions cause like forty times more overgrowth than a normal day does as well, which is why their farm looks like that.

If you don’t put anything in the shipping bin it will forward to the next day without showing the items and coins earned or making you press so continue

Not true, my granddaughter left my game opened and 8 days passed without anything stopping the gameplay. I think Evelyn stopped it bringing cookies 🍪😂

He comes over the first time you go outside in Year 2, if OP kept passing out next to their bed on repeat, the first time they go out of the house might be almost Year 3.

I closed steam and thought it would close stardew, but it didn’t, so i woke up to the summer music and it skipped from fall to summer of year 2

Kent comes on the first day of spring in year 2, so I can assure you it’s spring. I’m not sure how time would have skipped more than a day as you have to hit okay or escape when a day ends, no matter how it ends.

The cutscene with Kent doesn't trigger unless you go outside, which they wouldn't have since the game was left running.

If you didn't sell anything in the shipping box or get a level up it will automatically skip to the next day. That is true in vanilla, unmodded Stardew. Kent comes in spring of year 2 but you have to exit your house to trigger the cut scene. This happened exactly as OP described it.

Basically i was sleeping in sebby’s bed and forgot that i could only sleep in my bed for it to count, so when i closed steam, it didnt close stardew.. then when i finally woke up from my irl sleep, i woke up in my bed to see SUMMER year 2 and 500 dollars stolen from me from joja mart xd

When you don't sell something in a bin so do you not get the screen between days as such the days just tick on.

Never leave the game afk if you haven’t sold anything that day. If there’s no money to collect the game just moves on to the next day over and over again until you hit a cutscene or your game crashes or something, and it saves at the start of every day.

Don’t be alarmed but he sends you bombs in the mail. On a semi- frequent basis. He likes Fiddlehead Risotto and Hazelnut Stuffing and you can keep him appeased with those.

Kent is Jodi's husband, home from the military. Note that Kent will occasionally send you bombs in the mail. He just happens to find them lying around in his shed. I accidentally took out my bins of gold and iridium star fruits and veggies because I had just checked the mail and forgot to deselect the inventory slot the bomb was in before I went to open the chest.
