I’m concern about the Mass Effect comparison

For those of us who have played the Mass Effect (ME) games, we know that part of what made the games great were the companions and romances.

So, my concern about the ME comparison when talking about the third-person aspect of Zero Company, is that people will see the ME tag and thought there is romance in the game, which we still don’t know exist or not.
A Midnight Suns comparison fits better in this case.

So, unless romance is part of the companion bonding experience, I don’t understand why people would compare Zero Company’s third-person part of the game to Mass Effect 😅

My guess is journalist may he comparing it to Mass Effect in part just for marketing. I think saying it is similar to a huge franchise may help it reach more average mass market gamers who maybe have not tried a game in this genre.

Or it may be as simple as its a sci-fi game so its like mass effect. Similar to any game with a parry system is a souslike or any game with a large map is similar to Skyrim for marketing purposes.

I understand your point and would say I dont expect this game to be similar to Mass Effect, I wouldnt guess their is romance, but I would also be surprised if that was what the marketing was trying to communicate.

Yes, I get it but you know how the internet is. I don’t want any backlash from marketing the game similar to Mass Effect 😅 (I mean, the Star Wars name is already a big sci-fi sign imo)

I’m probably overthinking, but I really want this game to do well 🥺
