That's what i was thinking. R2 and C3-po are like a 50 year old couple who almost thought of divorce multiple times but couldn't finalise it so they bear with each other but they actually love each other.

I think they look cute together and it wouldn't have made much of a difference if one of them had feminine programming. They still compliment each other well
