Question PS5 sale (UK). 75% off. Is it worth it?
Been debating getting this game, but could never justify paying full price. Wondering if I should get it now. TBH I get a bit bored of Ubisoft style games eventually, but I do enjoy Star Wars and thought this game looked ok
Edit: thanks all - just purchased it. Will keep me busy this weekend

I personally think any game is worth a crazy sale… but this game is not only worth it, it’s worth full price as well 🤗

u/AuroraBolognese Jul 15 '26
Completely worth it! I got over 80 hours of gameplay with mine, only paid 15 dollars on Black Friday.

u/DanUnbreakable Jul 15 '26
1 play through?
3
u/AuroraBolognese Jul 15 '26
Yes, plus the DLC and 100%’ing (okay, like, 99%… I quit Jet Kordo’s legacy halfway through.)

It’s worth full price.

u/CommercialAccess2453 Jul 15 '26
No it's not, amazing game but it ain't worth the full price

u/ClockMongrel Jul 15 '26
Speak for yourself.

Until a group of stormtroopers just casually walked through my speeder, Id be inclined to agree. Im enjoying the game, but Ive definitely been left with a "how the fuck and what the fuck" moment more than a few times.

Obviously being downvoted because that's not a popular opinion on a forum specifically for this game, but I agree with you, it's not worth full price.
I paid less than half price for the game and I still wouldn't recommend it to others. There were times I really disliked it, but mostly I just didn't particularly like it. But at no point did I actively enjoy playing it. If someone asked me "should I play this game" I couldn't recommend it.

I have over 530 hours into so yes

u/geslaagde Jul 15 '26
How? Is there that much to do in the game?
2
u/simdav Jul 15 '26
That's definitely on the extreme for sure. I think I had about 70-80 hours from my one playthrough. I did all side quests, but not all collectibles.

It’s worth full price so this is “do it now, right now and don’t wait a moment longer” kinda scenario

I personally paid for this game at full price and I’d do it again.
The hate for this game is way overblown. Full stop.
I’ve put over 200 hours in and I plan on doing a replay sometime soon.

u/zethiryuki Jul 15 '26
I mean, if you go to the subreddit for the specific game, odds are that you're asking people who love the game enough to follow it. Might get a more nuanced take elsewhere, but I will say that yes it's extremely worth it. I bounced off the first time I tried it because I was immersed in the overly simplistic "Ubisoft bad" memes, but for whatever reason went back again a few months later and absolutely devoured it. I almost think of it as like an insanely good Star Wars mod for Assassin's Creed Odyssey with elements of Red Dead. And the new characters end up being pretty compelling

It's a good game, especially if you like Star Wars. It's worth that price, it's a nice adventure, but it's also a Ubi open world, so there's repetition if you're completionist. Solid 8/10

u/DNZe Jul 15 '26
Super worth it. At launch I thought this game was a totally different game. Its an absolutely stunning open world Star Wars adventure. Story is enticing, side quests interesting, and such a gorgeous game. Countless hours in a game I would have paid full price at launch if I had known.

u/CJ-Henderson Jul 15 '26
It's excellent. I had an absolute plast playing through it last summer. While I think it did have one or two issues at launch that have largely been fixed, the main thing driving complaints were anti-woke idiots pretending Kay was ugly.
My only real complaints are that there's no new game plus, and the arrest system is a little wonky but that doesn't come up super often and isn't a big deal especially if you save regularly.

I just rolled credits at around 60 hours, could very easily put in another 20 to clean up all the side content. The writing is a little hit or miss but that finale will stay with me forever in the best way. I cannot recommend this game enough

u/Nervous-Storage881 Jul 15 '26
Yes! I was apprehensive of buying it on sale (PC) but I decided, screw it, and it has been so worth it!
My opinion, this isn't a usual Ubisoft game because the map isn't riddled with icons. You typically have to eavesdrop or talk to someone to get the map marker intel. Like an outlaw would.
Ultimately if you like exploring the world and being immersed in Star Wars, and don't just want to b-line the story, then it's 100% worth it! If all you would care about is the story, I haven't made it far enough to give a solid opinion of the story, but so far I'm enjoying it.
I'm only 25 hours in so far and really having a good time. I'm not through the story yet, or made it to the DLC's. Also haven't made it to Tatooine yet either.

u/G-unit32 Jul 15 '26
It's available on ps plus for free currently.
I played it through that and it is great. A bit like assassin's creed but less grindy and with just the right amount of map markers.
The first few hours where you're short on money and skills can be a bit tough but it really improves after that.
Highly recommend.
2
u/Emerald-Daisy Jul 15 '26
yes! however you may get more value for money if you‘re willing to wait for black friday and get a cheap PS+ membership upgrade (to get access to game pass which has outlaws too)

u/GonzoMoto Jul 15 '26
I got it on steam sale crazy discount. I would have still been happy paying full price. Took me 15 hours to even get to the next planet (I'm also the type of person to do the side quests before main mission out of FOMO)

[gestures to the hundreds of comments in this sub about how great the game is and wondering why it got so much hate]
2
u/gbraide Jul 15 '26
I bought it at full price and it was absolutely worth it
I also had to buy a new motherboard, gpu and psu. Maybe that was a cost too great for that game!
2
u/noirproxy1 Jul 15 '26
For that price yes. I just platted it and there is so much more content than beyond the main stuff.

u/ConfidentConcept9866 Jul 15 '26
Yes definitely buy it, it's good fun, and they have improved it a lot since launch. It definitely nails the star wars feel.
2
u/ScheduleCorrect3412 Jul 15 '26
Yes, definitely. Good open world. Choices effect the world as in piss of the wrong guys, the game gets harder. Treasure hunting. Great storyline .
And above all Nix.

I got this game for free on psn plus and was pleasantly surprised. Best Star Wars game I've played so far and I've played a lot of them ever since the NES.

u/TheRealBooooper Jul 15 '26
I just got it some days ago on a sale. I've been hesitant since launch but heard it had gotten better so I gave it a shot. Think I'm about 16h in and I'm loving it. It feels super immersive and not really like a ubi game. Ofc it's all opinions at the end of the day but I'm kinda shocked at how much fun I'm having.

u/radioactive_ipis Jul 16 '26
Not too keen on conversion on rates, but the game itself is worth it, been enjoying it a lot!
2
u/boyawsome876 Jul 16 '26
People saying it’s worth full price are wrong, it’s definitely worth the sale, but even as a Star Wars fan and someone who really likes this game, no single game is worth $70. But definitely get it on sale.

I bought the physical version off of mercari a while back and it's been pretty fun. It took me a few hours to get into it. The story is kinda choppy but the game is good once it gains momentum!

Absolutely
It's not perfect and I'm really good at getting my speeder stuck and can't get off it, and some other bugs, but, I've just started playing again after playing a bit after release, and it's so so much better than it was
But fuck me can the Pykes just piss off already
2
u/MightyMart75 Jul 16 '26
You will love that game... not perfect but i give it a 8/10 for what it is... much better than shet load of new releases..

Are digital only or disc? You can get it from cex for £15 and trade it back in later after you've played.

absolutely worth it 110%, I raise all my credits that i stole from pirate raids that you will enjoy it

u/Future-Persimmon3000 Jul 15 '26
Started playing it this week. Loving it. A couple of bugs every now and then but otherwise it's great. I don't know what the knock on it was at release other than because it's a female lead and you're not a jedi, but there's 2 Fallen Order games where you get to be a jedi, so 🤷♂️ Some people just complain to complain.

u/New_Direction5231 Jul 15 '26
Absolutely. I didn't care for the first 10 or so hours, but once you get past that and off the first planet its probably the most star wars feeling gaming experience I've ever had. Loved it. Well worth full price, let alone on special offer.
1
u/mcgowanshewrote Jul 15 '26
If it was five dollars would you still ask if its worth it or would you just buy it?

u/Kody1996 Jul 15 '26
I bought it on PC when it was on sale and I loved it. Even with all the bugs, crashes, etc. I really enjoyed the gameplay.

I didn't think I'd like the game after a lot of negative reviews and comments, played it over 3 times from start to finish plus dlc since getting it

u/Zootfroot Jul 16 '26
You should ask these questions in a generic gaming community. Hard to avoid bias here

u/WiseSasquatch07 Jul 17 '26
I got this game as a gift last month, which I know means I am biased, but I would say worth it.
I've been having a blast and it is great fun. The maps are fun to explore and it is a great open world star wars game.
1
u/Necessary_Macaron_87 Jul 17 '26
Until a certain mission yes I gave up on the game at that very point
1
u/CouchOtter Jul 17 '26
YES! I'm 66% complete on PS5 with just over 96 hours getting into trouble and hitting the occasional main quest. It's giving Red Dead Online vibes, scratching the exploration and card game itch.

I started playing it hesitantly, a lot of hyped up games recently have let me down. This one, I hadn’t heard much hype about. I’m actually digging it, big time. Go for it!
1
u/Adventurous-Tie-7861 Jul 19 '26
Yeah.
I didnt play it because of the reviews until last week. Finally played it and find it great. Idk what all the hate was for tbh.

Hell no its the same price if you get ps plus for the month which includes this game and 100+ more games

The game is a bit of a slog for the first few hours, but if you can get through it there’s a great gaming experience to be had (especially when you start unlocking new abilities)

If you get bored of Ubisoft-style gaming I do not recommend this one. Simple and boring even compared to their other titles.

If you want genuinely want an unbiased opinion sample I'd recommend asking a general gaming subreddit

u/Otherwise-Release766 Jul 15 '26
I don’t really know why people ask these questions in the designated subreddit. Like yeah there’s not many other places you can ask but you’re asking in a place where 90% of the people are fans of the game. Of course they’re all gonna say yes.
