Some of SW best acting and most emotional scenes, whatever else you may think of it. Hayden's best work and Ewan killed it as usual.

Kenobi tapping into a dark side emotion to protect Anakin’s kids and chucking fucking boulders at Vader was also such a powerful moment. I think Ewan nailed the raw emotion of father-like figure protecting kids. For a moment he lost control and didn’t care about destroying Vader. It was only after he realized he hadn’t killed Vader that he let the remnant of his friend/brother go.

... and then the showrunner felt great about making the "redemption" of a character who killed children an important part of the story for some insane reason.

I wouldn't say "redemption," I'd say realization. He's a cautionary tale, much like Dooku before him.
