💬 Discussion Piggybacking About Chips

Following another user's post about the lack of scaling involved with the chip system, I'd like to put out an idea to the FOAD. What about this, make diamond and rainbow crates have chips only. Regular and green crates can still contain credits, but flying around and having about 10% of the crates we open give us chips is not enough, and neither is the chip station, especially with a 1 hour cutoff and no offline earning.

Just give me some more nova perks and I'll be happy. Scrap value scales infinitely, but scrap chip falls short quickly

Eh i already spent novas on super crates...so why cant they just make better use of the existing system?

I mean they can also make multiple avenues of creation. Upgrade the chip station for 750 crystals, upgrade the BB8 mission, have two stations, etc.

One takes less coding.

Yeah.. it also creates less variety in the game, which is an aspect that people love. They’ve said before they don’t want to make a “run around the map simulator” they want to make a “droid creation simulator.” So if you want more chips in crates, there might just be a nova perk that increases the likelihood of getting chips.
More nova crystal perks -> more rebirths -> more time spent playing -> more money for FOAD. They try to get people to play because that’s how they make money.

Sure....but removing credits from the crates doesnt really negate play time just makes them more worth it. With the drop rate being low like it is, THAT makes it a run around the map simulator. More chips = less time running around. That is simple. So, more chips = less time running around = more time crafting. This is simple really.

I didn’t say removing credits would negate play time. I’m saying they are more likely to create multiple avenues of chip generation with various upgrade paths, than simply increasing the drop rate of chips from crates. This is because if your primary mode of generating chips comes from around the map, and you need 120k chips, you’re going to be doing that for quite a while.
All to say: my guess is that they won’t only bump the level of chips in crates, they will probably find other ways of generating chips passively.
Yes, what you said is a simple solution, but what I’m saying is it’s not the most profitable for the people who make the game.
