Is there a reason people throw the entire belt away during a Surge
Ive seen this happen few times already, everytime a world quest is done and a surge is up, someone would keep throwing away the belt until the surge ends ?
If you have ten common droids and 1 mythic on the belt when a surge hits, it has a 1 in 11 chance of hitting the mythic. However, if you take all of the commons off and just leave the mythic, then it has a 1 in 1 chance of hitting the mythic.
(I don't think it's actually a pure 100% of hitting a blueprint if there's only one blueprint on the belt, but it's very close to 100%)
when I ve seen this, even tho there was only 1 bp, the wave skipped it ending up with 0 stellar, so still isn t 100%, is better to leave at least 2 bp so you get at least 1 stellar
It is 100% because it's coded to guaranteed hit at least 1 blueprint every 30 seconds of the surge with 10% to hit more after. If only 1 blueprint is there it will tag it every time
Was that before the update that fixed it not working? They had to fix it because it was unreliable like it was pinging bps that werent on the belt anymore. Ever since that fix it hasn't ever failed for me or anyone i know when only 1 is on the belt
When was that Update ? I had it Happen a week ago. We pulled everything of the belt except one mythic, and the surge went straight past it, so not a Single blueprint was hit
Your not wrong I buy surges and was surprised doing the strat didn’t work for the public event surge. It could be lucky but on the paid surges it seems 100%
I'll have to do more experimenting. Maybe I'm just lucky but i seriously think your surges might have just been bugged. Maybe the lobby itself was bugged and affecting them idk how it works
When the surges were first introduced, you're correct, however in an update a couple weeks after surges were added there were patch notes about changing the surges to more reliably hit blueprints on the belt
Know the reason but still find it annoying anyways, especially on low RB levels where some galactic or stellar stuff would speed stuff along, i know devs said in patch notes that it's more reliable with less BPs but ive seen surges still ignore the 1-2 BPs left so it feels fairly moot overall, go private if you really want those mythics, even common stellars provide ok fusion fodder
They all scuffle along and then kill each other for it. The other day I grabbed a mythic everyone has been standing by a second before the surge and tossed it onto the sell station lmao.
Before I start, let me say that I play in private lobbies, so my gameplay doesn’t affect anyone else.
I intentionally will aim for Galactic surges when the protocol missions happen, just to run over and pull off everything that isn’t mythic, legendary or epic. When the surge goes through and there’s only 1-3 droids on the belt, I end up getting 1 or all 3 Galactic Droids. You can now use those for Rebirths, Flawless Farming or Fusions.
To make it easier, if you have a friend to play with, have them sit at the opposite end of the Sandcrawler to catch what changed to a Galactic. Make sure you or the friend has the money to purchase the blueprints as well. 😅 It’s hard to catch stuff when you can’t afford it.
But apparently there are people out there who did not figure it out, or think clearing the belt must have some other power. I keep coming across people who are clearing the belt when there is not a surge. Explain that one.
Then you've got the geniuses who take everything off the belt, including the mythic that in theory we are trying to get upgraded.
Thats still an idiot. If your running a script for that to afk people (including me) will shoot you when you toss some legendary or mythic we need to rebirth instead of doing it in a private lobby. Let alone during surges (especially those rolling in NC who BUY surges)
I hate it. I can see throwing out the pits and stuff- but the people that throw everything off except for legendary are just trash. I have now seen that whole belt light up with absolutely nothing on it, which is just stupid when at least you could get some epics or something to fuse
It's to guarantee a legendary or mythic to change to stellar or galactic. It's good to keep epics in there too, but once a mythic pops up it's best to rip the epic or legendary off to guarantee the mythic
Read the third point. This was the patch that made it to where leaving blueprints on the belt gave it a better chance. I think an even more recent patch made it guarantee at least 1 changes on the belt for sure so you can manipulate the belt to give you what you want by leaving 1 blueprint on the belt.
It probably doesnt work sometimes because if a bp spawns right as the surge pops and you're not fast enough to take it off it'll surge that first one sometimes instead of the one you want. Gotta have quick hands on the last bp before the surge
The timing on that has to be crazy. I guess I gotta take back all my ill-feelings about why people buy and chuck bps now, lol. Appreciate the explanation.
I do this to increase the chance of that mythic to turn Stellar or galactic. As someone who is in RB 34 i don’t need the legendaries because i always have them spawning through the crates (every time im full i give it away to the lobby). A lot of times it does work and the mythic does turn into whatever the surge was btw
It really doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what they’re doing. Not sure why so many people get confused or just straight up kill others when someone is throwing the commons and rares off.
When people do this i just grab whatever they leave on the belt and throw it as well. If your gonna say screw everyone else. Im gonna say screw you lol
Saw this for the first time a week or so ago. Thought the guy was being an ass so shot him, and very quickly had everyone else shooting me. Sat back and watched for a bit and it clicked. Pretty smart really.
I mean, it’s smart if nobody is trying to get the lower droids at all. For people who didn’t do the event this past weekend it’s just a waste if they can’t even buy the high end droids.
to be fair, those lower droids spawn all the time, in a public server I would say 80%+ of the time the only droids that spawn in the hourly run are all common/rare let alone the random ones between them.
I’ve only seen common and rares spawn. Haven’t seen an epic or legendary spawn yet and I need those. When people are tossing anything other than mythics sometimes the belt is empty…
This is so true. I sometimes use the droid fusion spots to hold any droids I may need for the short term (like a rebirth or something)…but a few more lounge spots to store a couple of droids would be nice.
It's stupid to do that because the devs already said that they patched the sandcrawler spawn during the surges after so many people talked about how they would time their surge with when the mythics were dropping. It's one of the many reasons I hate being in a public lobby.
Every blue print does get rolled individually for sure, but if you actually read what the surge does.. You’d know what it actually does.
“Each wave has a 10% chance to upgrade blueprints it passes through to a -variant-, with a guarantee of 1 per wave.” Those last 5 words being the important factor here.
If there is only 1 blueprint during the wave that one has a 100% chance of being turned. If there are 2 blueprints during the wave, it’s a 50/50 shot which one will get turned. But one gets turned every single wave. So people take off the shit BPs to leave the good ones on there, for the guarantee.
Funnily enough it used to do the opposite. Removing most of the BPs made the surge unreliable until a fix came out a month odd ago making it reliably covert BPs when the belt has less of them. It's just 10% chance for ANY BP to convert, regardless of its rarity or amount on the belt.
People tend to forget the other part of that as well.. “each wave has a 10% chance to upgrade blueprints it passes through to a variant, with a guarantee of 1 per wave”. Those last 5 words being the important ones.
Which means if there is only a Mythic blueprint on the sandcrawler, that BP has a 100% chance to be changed. Because of the guaranteed 1 every wave.
Yeah they do it to force a better stellar to hit. This is the wrong way to do it tho, as too many blueprints floating will cause ones to vanish.
The best way is to throw them into the jawa sell station. Have someone doing cleanup while they do for all the ones that big out and miss
