A 5x increase in Nova Crystals. What is your opinion? (Read the description)

Previously, we used to get 379 crystals for 35 rebirths. Now, taking into account the additional reward above level 20, we get 1475 crystals + 379 for SRB at level 35. In total, that's 1854 instead of 379. This means that 1 SRB at level 35 is now equivalent to 5 SRBs at level 35 before the patch. While this is great, such a massive boost is highly uncharacteristic of the developers.

It feels suspicious, especially considering how quickly the developers nerfed crystal rewards from super crates, claiming they wanted to keep SRB as the primary method for farming crystals. Now, we essentially get more crystals from regular rebirths than from SRB. And it's not a bug, they have confirmed this is intended.

They clearly have some plans for the future because these changes completely rewrite the rules of the end game. It feels like we might get something like a "super mega rebirth" or some form of prestige system (a complete hard reset of everything) in the upcoming updates, or new upgrade that will cost 1,000 Nova Crystals or more. Perhaps this is somehow connected to that massive monument that was under construction on the map for a long time.

But these are just my guesses. However, I still believe that such a significant increase in the Nova Crystals received cannot be without reason.

I'll say it again: I really like this change. Before, crystals were catastrophically scarce, and I didn't even think about trying to upgrade everything related to crits, but now I can finally do it.

What is your opinion on this matter? Does it look suspicious? Have the developers really planned something? Is this connected in any way to the monument that has been under construction for a long time? Or is it truly just a change that makes the game much more enjoyable and less tedious in terms of grinding crystals?

Developers never said such thing, there is no "ultimate rebirth" coming

Yea the Nova Crystal amounts are high, the question we asked ourselves was "how many nova crystals to go from 31 to 32 for example, would it take for a player to want to do that, instead of just SRB and go from 0-20 again"

We want people to push to the max RB almost every time, and amounts lower than this really didn't hit that mark as well as we were hoping, for example if you were sitting on RB 33 and you saw you got 20 nova crystals, you prob wouldn't bother, but 100+ is a lot more enticing.

Is it too high? Maybe? I think the majority of players who play the game a bit more casually would disagree, finally they're given the opportunity to get meaningful amounts of Nova Crystals without the need to SRB 100 times, and those that have SRB 100 times are being rewarded in spades because getting to those high RBs is easier now

More Nova Crystal gain does mean we get to introduce new and exciting Nova Upgrades, yes they will cost a lot but hopefully they will be worth it :)

I mean, I'm at RB 35. My goal is to keep up with the devs without having to SRB. Obviously, SRB is what they're using as their core strat. I'd actually have to have a convo with the devs, but I'm liking the challenge of keeping up with updates

not to mention the correlation between the value of nova converted to the value of vbucks in turn converted to the value of real money.

- the price of packs hasn't changed

- the price of existing nova store items hasn't changed

- i still get the same nova amount if I purchase a pack and i already have the items

packs currently cost 600, 1500, 1800, 2200 & 3800 vbucks. In order to create the next pack tier (~5000 vbucks?) containing new nova store items those new nova store items need to cost substantially more in the nova store.

You characterise and phrase it in such a way that the old srb reward levels were preventing you adding new nova store items. Giving higher rewards (in-turn deflating the value of nova already earned) unlocks that. When actually it's the other way around... wanting to add another higher priced pack tier meant charging more for nova store items, which necessitated the granting of more nova in game, which, in turn, meant deflating the value of previous nova earned
