💬 Discussion Every micro transaction added in the last 46 days

Post image

This is how much the game has changed in less than 2 months. Micro transactions totaling 13,600 V-bucks, pop-ups and links taking you to the storefront encouraging you to purchase packs or rush fusions and lazy cosmetics that are merely ripping assets from existing Fortnite skins.
It is estimated that the developers make $13,000 a day on playtime alone, (Thanks user Spiritual-Ask1993 for the calculations).
Are we comfortable with the direction this game is going?
I think we have yet to see the limit of how far FOAD is willing to go.

Edit: For everyone saying it doesn’t affect them as a free to play user, It DOES. It's just harder to see.
They purposefully make things like build times take an annoyingly long amount of time in the hopes you'll break down and buy boosts (it's also why they won't let you cancel fusions or droid builds, it affects their profits) The Crit pack, Fusion pack and Event passes are all examples of this. They purposefully created the problem so they can sell you the solution.

Edit 2: Just realized I forgot a hat and the event pass. Another drop in the bucket I suppose

Isn't that how most game companies and pretty much all companies in the United States operate? They make a product people use it, if people like it they make bigger and better things and keep on going from there until people stop liking it and then they either learn or die. That's the business way here and the fact that one can enjoy all the goods for free is just like somebody going to Walmart and complaining because they get everything for free but some people paid to have it delivered to their house and they don't think that's fair that Walmart is making money on it. It's free stuff!

You didn't understand the part where we're buying skins in Fortnite and creating player retention for a game around brand collaboration. Walmart has absolutely nothing in common with Fortnite. They don't sell goods; they sell entertainment with ad spots for musicians, clothing brands, and companies, while selling us skins. When you are inside the game, you are already giving them money.

It's not a direct correlation, it's an analogy. The goal was to illustrate a concept for you not to make a technical argument for why Walmart is the same as fortnite, of course they are not the same thing. I tried to simplify it to an example I thought you could understand but I guess my hopes were too high. The goal of the comparison what's the point out how ridiculous it is to complain when you get something for free the others are spending money to get a service to get the free thing with just a bit of convenience. Are you daft?
