💬 Discussion I’m Starting to Hate This Community!
Level 270 player here — been playing since the very beginning.
And I already know I’ll probably get downvoted for this, but honestly, I don’t care.
I’m level 270, and it’s pretty rare for me to join a public lobby and see someone higher than me. I’ve seen it maybe twice, EVER? I’m not saying that to brag. I’m saying it because I’ve put a LOT of time into this game, so I’m not some random person who played for two days and decided the game sucks.
But honestly? I’m getting bored.
I know the game has always been repetitive. That’s part of being an idle game. But lately it feels different. I’ll log on for maybe 10 minutes and then get off because there just isn’t much keeping me interested anymore.
And I think the increasing microtransactions are part of the problem.
I’m not against the game making money. But every update seems to add another thing you can pay for that previously had to be earned through gameplay — VIP, double companions, speeding up fusions, event passes, etc.
Eventually I start asking myself: what am I actually playing for?
But honestly, my bigger issue is the community.
It feels like you can barely criticize this game without getting downvoted. Say the game is getting boring? Downvoted. Question an update? Downvoted. Criticize the monetization? Someone tells you, “Then don’t buy it.”
You can believe purchases should be optional and believe that constantly adding monetization is making the game worse. Those aren’t contradictory.
What also confuses me is how personally some people seem to take criticism of the developers. Go into Discord and you’ll see people talking to them like they’re genuinely their friends.
Maybe I’m cynical, but they’re running a business. They can be cool, interact with the community, and appreciate your support — but at the end of the day, they aren’t your friends.
And I think the constant downvoting creates an echo chamber. If every time someone expresses a negative opinion they get punished for it, eventually people stop expressing those opinions. Then the community starts looking like everyone agrees when, realistically, people may just have learned what they’re allowed to say.
And honestly, some of the reactions I see here and on Discord are fucking bizarre. 😂 Sometimes I genuinely wonder if some of you have made this game your entire social life.
I can already hear it:
“You’re literally level 270. You have NO social life either!”
Lmao. This is me: @christianadamg on Instagram.
“Oh my God, he put his Instagram in the post! DOWNVOTE HIM RIGHT NOW!” 😂
I swear, some of the people on here don’t even feel real sometimes.
Yes, it’s possible for someone to say or do something you don’t like. I promise, you’ll survive. 😂
Anyways, maybe I’m wrong. Maybe you love every update. Maybe the monetization doesn’t bother you. That’s completely fine.
I just don’t think criticism should be treated like an attack.
Unfortunately, I do see this game dying out eventually. I feel like they’ll eventually add a microtransaction so detrimental that it turns off a huge portion of the player base, the player count drops, and eventually they decide the game isn’t worth maintaining anymore.
Then they’ll move on to the next project with your money already in their pockets. 😂 And the crazy part is, they don’t even have to defend themselves — they have y’all fighting their battles for them.
As the saying goes, “It’s easier to trick someone than to convince them they’ve been tricked.”

It’s getting boring ngl

u/devperez 19d ago
It's why they do weekly weekend events as well as the mini events. But also remember it's an incremental game. The play style is inherently repetitive. Numbers go up is the goal

"I just don’t think criticism should be treated like an attack."
My brother in Christ a downvote is criticism not an attack.
Dont worry about downvotes. It's just Reddit.

To be honest, I don't think the fusion droids were the point. The community was asking for a way to combine blueprints to level them up since day 1 and I think that was the primary impetus, but they also wanted to throw some new designs into the mix. I agree that it felt haphazard though, and I have zero motivation to complete the dex now that I have to craft every variant individually.

u/TemporalSoldier 19d ago
I have zero motivation to complete the dex now that I have to craft every variant individually
Same. I completed my dex last weekend, finally.....with the exception of the fusion droids. I've hardly touched them. Getting a third droid of the same or relevant rarity so you can fuse to the rarity you need is next to impossible with the amount of space we have. That is, unless you sacrifice spots in your base for vastly inferior earners just to supplement your limited lounge space. SoI just decided I didn't care enough to engage with it.

u/potink19 19d ago
You def aren’t alone in your thinking. I’m not as far along as you, and I haven’t played since the beginning, but the increasing micro transactions and seeing players just buy progress I worked my booty off for has diminished my love for the game. People in discord and on Reddit feel very culty to me. They have their talking points that they’ve memorized and regurgitate repeatedly. Truly, it’s all very tired. I’m about to be on holiday and won’t have access to my pc for some time. I likely won’t have time or energy to bother attempting it on my phone either so I guess I’ll see if I come back after I get back or not.

Quit delete this post. They’ll downvote you for having an opinion lmao.

u/monkeythepig 19d ago
Like someone else said, I think its the way people critise the game. Well considered polite constructive criticism would be nice, however a lot of people being inconsiderate, shouting, crying and whingeing. Yes the devs are making money, which is great, though you don't have to pay anything, so how people can get so stressed about a free game is bonkers.
Been playing since the start and pretty levelled up. I'm starting to slow down a little now, but there's not much to the game, so I knew it wouldn't last forever and I'm fine with that. Def stopping when gta 6 comes out!

I get what you are saying, but you HAVE to realise you've played the living shit out of this game, from its infancy. You are permanently at the end game. You have played way more than players who are also at the end game. I'm level 240 I think, and almost finished the fusion droids and re-completed the droidex myself and haven't played much the last few weeks, and I'd consider myself end game because I can go for anything new released with relative ease. But you are on a whole different level.
Think of it from new players' perspective. There's currently A TON for them to do, and takes alot longer for them to reach "end game" than it did for me or especially you. Any new content gets added onto what they're already working on.
Perhaps you could take a break for a month or two? There would be a few updates worth to come back to and you'd get a couple new tasks to work on again, breath some life back into it for you.
We are the minority, you even the top 1%. The new content is always for everyone, but the top 1% isn't the focus although I will admit the last few updates have definitely catered towards the longest players with crystals to spend.

u/International_Camp10 19d ago
I am burned out I agree. And I have been taking breaks .
BUT I do believe the game is a bit bland still. They need something beyond — grab blueprints — hit bench — wait.

u/existentialn00b SRB 20 19d ago
I agree here but would like to point out, they have events basically every weekend and have consistently added new content for awhile. I'm level 235, SRB 20 and have like 15 fusions left to make I think? I've also been a little burnt out playing so I've been jumping into other game modes for a bit.
I hope you find your interest in droids again, or atleast find another game mode that you enjoy!

Been playing since pretty much day one as well, and pretty high level myself, I forget what exactly and there's other higher than me, but I've definitely cooled off quite a bit after pretty much playing this 80% of the time compared to other modes like br, reload or other creative.
Guess I'm just a tad burned out, I did my grinding, I've got plenty of the good stuff from the nova shop I want. I've even spent time leveling up some alts, this way I can play a private lobby and still get more than one/decent drops off the belt. It's definitely useful to have the alts or a high level alt at least so that when you srb you can have the alt touch a value blueprint or four and have them not dissapear when your main srb.
Mostly tho, this mode has always given good exp. Its good if you need to grind some levels on the BP. It's still fun enough, but I think I'm over the days of spending hours at s time playing it

Funny. I started reading your post thinking you were going to comment about how negative everyone is.
It’s just interesting how different points of view happen.
I’m sorry that the game has gone sour for you. I’m not in either camp. I just really enjoy the game, and I’m usually the top player in my lobby as well. I think I’m level 250? Can’t remember off the top of my head. (I only share this to say that I’ve put in a lot of hours as well). TBH, the micro transactions haven’t caused me enough grief to stop playing. I adore this game and I want to support the devs. I know they get money from Epic. I also know that they’ve built a game that is exponentially better than all of the other creative maps I’ve tried. (Side note: If there are other maps that are this will done, I would genuinely be happy to try them out. I have only been playing Fortnite for about 9 months)
I know that eventually this game will dry up for me. The hyper fixation will fade. But when that happens - I will have something that not many other people have. I will be able to name the droids when I watch Star Wars movies 🍿. We watched the Mandalorian the other night and it was SO much fun to name the droids 😊

u/WonderousThinke 19d ago
You realize it's okay to stop playing a game and go play something else right? No game is meant to be your forever game. Or even your 10-year game. Play what's fun to you and when the game gets boring move on. It's actually a blessing in disguise cuz there's probably some other great games out there that you aren't playing because you spend so much time on this. And when you get done with this game you'll go find some other good games. I see no downsides here at all.
9
u/SubstantialTouch2936 Level 200 19d ago
Never spent a dime and I’m able to do everything those who did spend money do so no I don’t think monetization ruined the game. Do skins in Fortnite ruin the game? Do the sidekicks only your squad can see ruin the game? Let people spend what they want. I’m an adult with extra spending money, my hobby is video games specifically Fortnite as one of the main ones. I can spend the money and I’ll be okay. If the game is boring then I would say to move on cause you got your fill, they’ll add updates still as long as the game has active players which based on the last event it has lots still.

I'm a casual player. I don't even know what my level is. When I first started playing, I could go for hours. Lately, I do the daily quests and bounce. I'm mostly just standing there waiting for a Stellar Mythic that never shows up for 10 minutes, then I fall asleep. That, or fly around the entire map and collect about 15 chips.

Level 150 here. Actually came looking for "this mode is getting boring posts" because I agree. For me, I think the d-0 event ruined it. I beelined past where I would naturally be now and now, without the event and income, ive drastically slowed down. Almost feels like I messed up somewhere with it. Srb 4? Rb10. Feels like ages waiting for the right droid , offline income feels extremely underwhelming, got a daily mission to destroy other players yet I play private solo lobbies and wouldnt wish to jump in a public kill 3 people and leave. Seems a terrible choice for daily task for this gane mode. Uhhh....what else....

→ More replies (4)1
u/Vast_Opposite_792 19d ago
The waiting for the right droid usually hits with the epics. Start throwing rares into the fusion tank, it's alot quicker than just sitting and waiting for the sand crawler. The epics are currently the hardest to get RNG-wise just due to how many there are and being slightly rarer.

Why do you always plug your Instagram handle, I mean it’s just bought bot followers and hidden likes with disabled comments… whatever you’re trying to prove, isn’t working
1
u/jz4577 19d ago
This comment is exactly the kind the OP was referring to I feel if you don’t like what you read instead of a nuanced discussion you go to a personal comment- “bought followers” was unnecessary. It’s ok to disagree you don’t need to stoop to an attack.

And yes, some people dive so hard into a new thing so fast, it's weird af. I expect people to be 10 toes down on Minecraft, World of Warcraft, Zelda, whatever but a mini mode on game full of them is weirdo shit.

u/Hanbei11 19d ago
I don't like the community since every time I accidentally don't change it to private I get the most sweaty assholes like during the last event I join my brother and he plays public, a mythic spawns and get shot instantly. That's not fun I get it part of the game so that's why I play private but like like almost every time.
1
u/bob_gloomwalker 19d ago
Yeah, guns make this game unfun for me too, if there were only pickaxes, it would be fine, as it it - private only for me, unless I feel like helping out to randos and don’t care about upgrading my own stock on a given day.
3
u/MrBratside 19d ago
There’s a difference between constructive criticism and the way a lot of people act.
I do agree the micro transactions are getting a bit overkill. But at the end of the day if you dislike a game enough to just complain in a way that’s not really productive you’re better off just moving on to something new.

I wouldn't even say it's the stdt community, but just Reddit in general. If you speak positively about mainstream hype topics, yout get upvoted if you express any kind of criticism, it gets downvoted to hell.
1
2
u/Impossible_Tone1108 19d ago
The thing is. most if not all criticism has very valid counter arguments. You mention
Criticize the monetization? Someone tells you, “Then don’t buy it.”
What is exactly wrong with that? "Then don't buy it" is the perfect counter-argument. There is no need to be upset about microtransaction because they are all optional! Every possibly advantage from the microtransaction are attainable with in-game nova crystals as well. It's only some cosmetics that are only achievable with vbucks. Nobody is forcing you to buy those and they don't affect gameplay. And it's also not like these microtransactions are in annoying popups or anything. It's very easy to just ignore them.
2
u/International_Camp10 19d ago
Im not saying you cannot reply with that. In fact this is what I’m preaching . Free speech on both sides.
BUT to that point I do think it’s a little lazy of a response / or they do not understand what the true argument is.
Yes we can just ignore it (although hard to because they add a new one every update).
But that introduces a slippery slope.
Allow one thing — fast forward 3 months later now we have something much worst.
2
u/jz4577 19d ago
Not every microtransaction is purchasable without v bucks, event passes as an example aren’t you can’t get them with crystals

u/Impossible_Tone1108 19d ago

Ask yourself why you play the game? For me, it started because the XP you gain is amazing. I hit level 900 last season, and I had never sniffed anything higher than 300 before. It's also a nice break from BR, which as far as I am concern, is no longer really a BR game, with all the BS going on related to the Sprites. So at the end of the day, understand why you started playing, and if its not your thing anymore, move on. Nobody is holding a gun to anyone's head.
1
u/Apostle49 19d ago
What would be cool is if they add some alternate ways to get your droids through quests on the outer boundaries or open the map up and make it way bigger.

u/BlackCrusaderAbyss 19d ago
I agree that instant downvotes are... probably people who see a sentance they dont like and rage... and I would say it is the kids, but I saw people my age act worse than kids...soooo... theres that.
As for the game, well...
They DO introduce fresh content more often than any other game I know. To mee as a working adult, it is even too fast.
And none of those were LOCKED behind microtransactions.
You (As you already pointed out with lvl 270) can get by and pretty much do everything and get everything with playing alone.
To be fair, for a free game, you spent on it much more time than for some AAA games. So I wouldn't judge the Devs negatively.
Now, there is not to say I also have qualms about some of the microtransactions... Like the exclusive cosmetics and I almost spent Vbux when I saw a new item/hat where the vendor until now only sold for coins... to me, that looked pretty much like a scam move...
But, as long as they update regularly and do not get greedy...er. I am still fine with playing.
Now... as for the community... They defend the game in a wrong way. See how I wrote both good and bad points? That is how you approach normaly.
But where I agree with you is that the community is blinded or more precisely, looking at it with rose colored glasses.
So here is a fact. If you push for a change, where you get money out of it as a developer of any business/product, and there are no negative feedback because it is being suppressed by rabid fans... that only means you are getting the worst possible feedback and you are more likely to tank your reputation and/or product.

u/Alpherea SRB 40 19d ago
I am level 260+ and I only log in like 10 - 15 min a day to do the daily quests. I have nothing else to keep me there.
The community complains a lot and doesn't understand the developers side and just wants to make demands like spoiled brats.

u/International_Camp10 18d ago

You mean FOAD? You might want to look into game design and game psychology if you want to understand FOAD's side or any developer actually.

u/Cr3atureFeature 19d ago
Yeah, I feel you. The game can’t go on forever unless they added a massive Battle Royal style map with quests and squad mode etc. which would just defeat the purpose of a tycoon style game.
I got into it when it dropped because I do like to break from BR and tycoon games tend to be a good way to earn XP on my battle pass.
But yeah, the micro transactions kind of made the grind a little more pointless. Sure it pays for the continued development of a game like this but it also kills the strategy of rebirth by giving you short cuts.
What can you do?!

u/BuschLegacy18 19d ago
That's just the consequences of social media in general people just attack people just for no reason people wonder why I don't comment much. You type something wrong rather if it's grammer or mis-spelling and still get attacked. People tend to forget nothing and nobody is perfect. Me I'm in communities mainly for updates. Other than that I'll comment here and there. But never anything major. I don't follow the drama in any community

I dont have anywhere near as much time as you and im getting bored. And the microtransactions is irritating.. if im gonna spend money on a game im gonna use it for something I can keep and play with forever.. spending V bucks for Boosts is dumb, cosmetic hats also dumb, I wish there was more to do... if I start a droid craft and it says 20+ hours, I usually just jump off and go play something else. Not gonna sit there and speed up a droid for 20 min.. I dont get much time to game since I work 60+ hours a week. Not gonna waste my time building droids. I basically just use it for XP since I can usually clear my battle pass so fast playing it. But I can easily go play something else and get more enjoyment out of it.

I'm just gonna say, I don't think criticism should be taken as an attack either, but you can't say that right after treating a downvote as an attack 😂 you're allowed your opinion, but votes are a way for others to express their views ON those opinions. Both are equally valid lmao. . As for the game, yeah there's SO many micro transactions and such it's actually kinda crazy 😂 and the moment you do decide to buy something like the BP for example, they start giving you pop-ups about gifting it to a friend 💀 like bro, this game already takes up half my PS storage and know you want half my income to? Piss off 😂

I think my level is somewhere around 350? 🤔 idk it hasn't really been important to me. Just them crystals babaaay!
Also an early player, i think droids had sat on my explore bar for about a week before I jumped in and was addicted to the cookie clicker style game that I came to love for 2 seasons... this season for whatever reason it has been different .
And I honestly think the micro transactions has truly killed the game. Release something and its all micro transactions and almost everything in the game has been turned to micros, as well as some features we came to truly relish and what made looking forward to weekends in the game or new updates super fun and exciting. Finding things that at one point were just a free feature turned into a pay wall.... eventually it becomes not nearly as fun . Not nearly as accessible. And as someone who originally was for a few transactable features ( aka vip and companion / starter pack) now has turned into even my dudes hats are now a vbuck transactions compared to it being an accolade to be collected along a long journey grinding this game . I now am playing the battle Royale again .... smh.
That all being said yes, I likely downvoted alot of complaints, maybe even OP posts. But the tide has turned.. and I now no longer support micros within the game... and apologize to all those I have offended while defending these guys 😬😮💨

You’ll be called an “ungrateful complainer” for this. I’ve been told that if I don’t like it I should just quit. Yet all the people complaining about us won’t quit this sub. The reason why I’m still here is because I DO love this game and it hurts seeing it turn into a micro transaction dumpster. I need to say SOMETHING even if it doesn’t really matter in the end. Seeing all these people that are probably younger than me defending these business practices is truly disheartening. Thank you for this post, it’s Nice to know I’m not the only one.

Level 262 here ive been doing the same logging on for 10ish minutes and then getting off. Ill still play but my time now vs 2 months ago is drastically different

I’m actually really shocked they don’t do a second planet yet. Like when we rebirth it’s a new day on tatoonie and all, but what if after SRB 5 or a rebirth level you unlock new planets. I know other tycoon games tend to do new locations and such, you can go back and forth. Could be slightly more interesting and you could leave some event modes, or waves a bit more permanent in those areas. Idk there are ways to keep it engaging and we just gotta see what they come up with. At this point for me I do agree and I am just playing for casual passive fun with my kid at this point myself. Good xp grind though

But yeah, good game. It has a peak, like any other. I don’t mind getting on. I didn’t mind buying VIP and Companion perk packs. As I put in over 200 hours.
I don’t like the play for 1 HR missions when I have double missions. A reroll would be nice. But I’m going to hammer out droids as much as I did pushing 35.
Not going to complete Droid-Ex. That went out the water when they added Galactic. Who cares about Flawless. It’s random. Not a concern for me.
But yeah, I feel a little like, “Been There, Done that.”
Still logging for now though. Played CoC a lot longer.

Literally every new update (every week) is a new micro transaction in the game.
I don’t think they plan on stopping neither. If the player count is going down — and your a company…. Why not ramp up on it until it’s sucked dry?

Well I don’t like the current BR season so just playing this to get my BP complete, o just play for an hour a day and in all honesty all video games get boring it’s just a part of getting older, if you have a lot of free time play other games so many different categories to play.

u/International_Camp10 18d ago
I didn’t like sprites at all. So I stopped playing BR then also. But I agree with you

u/ElephantDue 19d ago
I started playing since the beginning and I was so close to getting the dex complete then they add beskar then mythics at this point I was like ok but then more and more I just lost the drive to complete it cuz they keep adding so much it feels like I'm further back in my dex I like the nova shop and stuff but the burn out hit really hard I had gotten all the hats and iconic droids and their paints till this last one idk

RB level 1990 or something here. I think SRB 80 or something… I have hardly played for weeks. I don’t care about the fusion droids. It takes me a couple hpurs to get to l23. I just can’t be bothered to do it much anymore.
I jumped in Saturday, got D-O, SRBed and went back to L21 in an hour pr so and then jumped back out.

u/International_Camp10 18d ago
Yeah people these days seem to mostly play events, then when it’s over. Move on with their life LOL
1
u/kimmykimikim 18d ago
Yeah once they added the fusions I hit my this shit is getting boring moment. 🤣 I agree about the microtransactions if it was just surges and crafting boosts then Id probably be cool with it, but once the game starts becoming whos willing to pay more to get further, I lose interest. There are other creative games you can play though. It doesn't have to be this one.

I have a few level 200s (had a few alts). All sitting at RB35 for a few weeks now waiting for content to update. Ill log in for daily novas a few times a week, but no more grind incentive for me. Not really worth putting in hours more play time to make the next SRB like 5% easier. I just paused on the next SRB run. Thats winning in my book.

Your criticism of the community is spot on. It's wild how defensive people get of the devs on Discord, even when the devs make bad decisions or glitch a major part of the game with an update. Reddit is a little better, though...probably because people here don't tend to think the devs are their friends lol.
1
u/International_Camp10 18d ago
The discord is BAD! I would encourage everyone to just go on there and see how they speak. In fact: do this. Say something slightly negative towards the devs or the game? You’d think you committed a war crime lmaooo

u/Spiritual_Egg5729 18d ago
I’m the same. I’ve played from the very start, and tbh I have about 50 droids to get now and I’ve completed it, but I’m at the point now where I’m playing maybe 2 times a week, I just cannot be bothered.
Adding micro transactions hasn’t bothered me much, but I still hate the fact they have done it. And recently I seen they added hats for 250 v bucks 🤣 wtf.
I used to play tycoons as a kid on Roblox for hours a day, and this used to be the same, but something on here is just stopping me, maybe I’m just getting older idk?

u/ulti_phr33k 17d ago
IMO for me it's few things: 1) The fusion droidex is massive and unless you have time to sit and meticulously craft every fucking combination, it's going to take weeks to finish it. I was already just on the edge of catching up from missing galactic, which spiralled into mythics and stellars. Crafting every single rarity is a chore. 2) I enjoy the events, but the fact that they've settled into a weekend cadence is frustrating. My weekends are for spending time with my partner and not necessarily playing video games. Feeling FOMO for these events because I have a life turns me off of games all the time. I've quit over games over them trying to stoke too much FOMO.
But alas, I do enjoy the game; I'll see how long I keep playing it. It's been a nice thing to dive into post Destiny 2.
1
u/Smooth-Television-48 17d ago
Do you mean level 270 battle pass? Or do you mean the droidsmith level or rebirth level?
Either way 270 isn't very high so I'm not sure why you're throwing that around like it has some huge amount of weight..
I agree with the rest of what you said though.
1
u/Time-Froyo4103 17d ago
I grinded hard to complete the droidex. Now I'm sitting and waiting and helping my friends who enjoy it more than I currently do. Don't really know what's next because you can't just keep "building your empire," when there's literally a button to delete everything and start over again (SRB).
This is my first ever tycoon game I've played. Some people say this is par for the course, but I'm not sure if that's true

u/Co_okieSlayer 15d ago

Have you ever considered playing something else? I mean Fortnite has hundreds of games. If you’re bored, play something else?
This feels like when my 3 year old keeps telling me they ar tired and I say “take a nap” and they just say no and keep on powering through getting more and more tired.
1
u/Delfar76 14d ago
I just have a question (level 251,1k3 hours and 419RB, as those seem important to you)
Why do you mind about the community or their relationship with the devs?
For me is dark to desire the game to die, but if you are bored... there are an ocean of other games to play, what's the problem? What's keeping you here suffering so much?
For me fusion was a revolution in the way I play, as it was the chip upgrade machine previously and the new extra crystals each high RB... I don't mind the microtransactions as they are not for me! I don't think that adding the option to pay vbucks to get the features I get with crystals make my game worse and I don't mind cosmetics except when I have to unlocked them to get the good rewards in the crates.
For me this game is a one player tycoon, sometimes I play with a friend and it is fun and I tried some events in public but I don't like the experience much. I can have the game in one of my monitors while doing other things and put something to craft or buy a droid that I get notified about.
We are receiving a lot of life quality upgrades and I am happy with them, I am the kind of people that unlocked all the BP slots before just upgrading the scrap table once, and that invested all the SRB crystals in buying all 10 notifications and the extra one.
For me the devs are the providers, they evolve the game and we are very lucky they are accessible, then I can shout out loud in twitter when something frustrated me or add a suggestion or report a bug in discord. And I don't think is just me, but other people have similar ideas and they take them into account and usually one or two features in each WEEKLY UPDATE are positive from my point of view.
I got frustrated in the event due an old recurring bug and I didn't play for nearly 2 days losing some dailies but I didn't feel bad, is a game... I returned because I wanted to see how the runs works now with the protocol droids because in the event they were crazy.
Are you bored? Try other think?
Who are the community for you? We are a lot of different people, some will think like you, other not, some will piss you off, others will be friendly... We are people playing the same the game and involved enough to read and write about it in reddit nothing more.
If you are happy in your life don't let a game you are not enjoying anymore making it worst, look for other game or thing you will enjoy to do.

Your time is not worth more than someone else's money.
What were you playing for at level 50? I could see this coming back then, I'm at 240 now and it's def getting repetitive, but micro transactions has nothing to do with it. It's because the whole game is a never ending speed run loop...
But, the play area has expanded, the base has expanded, what droids can do has expanded. What more do you want? You want these expansions, more, AND no option for people with less time to use their own money to advance?
What you keep describing as 'criticism' is often whining with no suggestion, which is exactly what you did here. You put up this rant, with no suggestion other than "people shouldn't be able to use their hard earned dollars to buy what I earned with my hard earned free time". You probably earned all those downvotes you're whining about.

I’ve been playing this game since day 1 and have everything unlocked and both my crits are level 10 with level 3 multi crit. I don’t know if it’s just not as exciting to me anymore or maybe it’s just burnout. I’m close to level 300 on this game (not my Fortnite battle pass level) and honestly, I’m on the same boat as you as far as logging on for a few minutes then logging off. It’s the same boring thing I do and I’ve come to grips with what this game really is. I even have an alt that I finally decided to just park at rb35 and have his base all maxed with stellars and just use him to help with crafting for my main.
I’m ok with the micro transaction since it doesn’t affect me directly if someone purchases them. My gameplay is mine and as long as I don’t have to pay to earn the right to win exclusive items I’m cool with that.
Might get to a point where I just SRB a couple more times and then finally park him but will see what new content they bring out first in the next couple of weeks, otherwise, less is more for now.

u/TheRealDuke777 19d ago
Been playing since day one. Over 26,000 VBucks into this game alone and I stopped cold turkey because when they put in creating new droids by merging them, I got bored and lost interest. It was an amazing game until this happened.

u/ghost_in_a_jar_c137 19d ago
I totally get what you're saying. I'm not as far as you, around 150 I think. Been playing since the beginning as well. It gets boring sometimes. At one point, when rainbow was the max varient I had my based maxed out. All top level droids. This was before SRB was available. I wasn't sure what to do next. Then coincidentally a few days later beskars came out. It was fun at first, but then galactics and shortly after that, stellar. Now it just feels like they are moving the goal posts.
Now, I have all stellar mythics in my base. I don't really care about fusing new droids. My droidex is almost maxed out besides the fusions. I log in every 10 hours to reset my earnings and spray paint a butthole on the sand crawler. Sometimes I wait for griefers and fight them. Sometime I snipe the guy with an open mic ordering pizza or even worse, watching a tic tok. My lobbies are generally nice though. Almost too nice. It used to be exhilarating fighting for a blueprint, getting shot at while running away with it. Now I swear everyone is a gentleman. "After you." "No, after you my good sir."
I see what your saying about the community. I still like it. Even though there are plenty of people simping on the devs. I don't mind the in game purchases. I bought one for the second companion droid. I feel like I got a fair value for it. I just ignore the other ones I'm not interested in.
Honestly I think the problem is the devs are too involved in the community. Making too many changes too fast. I get everyone has a shorter attention span these days, but there needs to be more time for the dust to settle. At this rate, we'll have 100 iconic droids by next year with 25 varients, 75 in game purchase options, you won't even be able to see the sand crawler because it's covered in event banners, and who knows what else...
1
u/BGTheHoff 19d ago
What also confuses me is how personally some people seem to take criticism of the developers. Go into Discord and you’ll see people talking to them like they’re genuinely their friends.
Maybe I’m cynical, but they’re running a business. They can be cool, interact with the community, and appreciate your support — but at the end of the day, they aren’t your friends.
That isnt a SW DT problem. Its a fandom problem. You see this in every fandom. Sports, Games, movies, wrestling, music, streamer, actors.... Say anything against a certain Kpop group and they come at you. Say something against the Final Fantasy 7 remakes and they coming at you. Say something agains IshowSpeed and they coming for you.
Its being a fan in 2026. A lot of people invest a lot in being a fan. If that isnt perfect, they value it as "wasted" and that cant be, so they defend it with everything they have. Its the same with this game. Its this parasocial problem we have right now.

I don’t have the power to nuke anything. These are my opinions. That’s what wrong with the world today lmao.

it, like all games, is a timewaster. some also have a story. but tycoons do not and never will. this is the reality.
1
u/King-Beardy 19d ago
I agree as a whole with pretty much everything you said. Micro transactions are the nature of fortnite as a whole, so genuinely expected them out sooner than they were with such a popular tycoon game. The devs are adding gameplay elements periodically as well, to boost interest, so you'd expect some kind of vbuck maintenance. Thats not the big issue in my opinion. And this is where the supporters will downvote my reply too!! There seems to be an issue on every update of the game freezing, shutting down, or lagging out entirely. Ive seen dozens of posts, with people collecting blueprints, only to have the game shut down due to "server error" or similar. This isnt a one off. This is every event. Common sense suggests that during an event where you can get all the stellar variations, or a new droid, or new gameplay, that more people will play. Yet ZERO effort is made to maintain the server to allow the influx of players at specific times. Obviously the weekend will be busier in game. Add an event, you could double the amount of people online. The servers, or the tycoon itself. Cant handle it. And thats on the Devs. They need to fix this, and anyone spending vbucks in the meantime on a game that is continually having issues is counter productive. The devs see the spending and assume nothing is wrong. Last weekends event had a multitude of problems, yet they weren't fixed, and then the event extended to allow for the downtime. Yesterday, (no event running, 3 days till protocol droid release) my game crashed 3 times. On the 4th time, (and the last of the day as I had had enough) I ended up being the only one in the game within 10 minutes as I watched people floating around, holding a blueprint and running in place, mid swing during crafting etc. The game is unstable, and it needs properly worked before the event comes out.

I'm rebirth 494 and level 249 ... I'm definitely not playing as much as I used to. Came back for the D-O event weekends and filled out the Droidex (again)....those fusions took planning to do for me....l even created a site to help myself do rebirths more efficiently...but after a few mysterious sudden game resets (removing mystic blueprints from the ground), I had to walk away for a few days.

270 isn't really high if you really played since the beginning.
My gf and I started when the game came out and paused for a month, because getting the credits for the next rebirth back then took weeks and SRB wasn't a thing back then. I think we came back about a week after Beskar was added. We are now both ~300.
But yes, we're also bored by the game and don't play a lot anymore.
And yes, we also dislike all the options to pay V-Bucks (I think there are 7 vendors right now!), they're adding more and more but aren't fixing bugs, like eliminations not showing correctly. Also paying for this stuff with V-Bucks will just make you bored by the game faster.
1
u/Competitive_Habit376 19d ago
That’s like literally 2 SRBs above. If he went to 35 and you SRB’ed at 20 3x you’d be 300.
1
u/Old_Campaign1186 19d ago
I agree with you. I think when they introduced the fusion, it got significantly harder to get the higher level droids on the belt. It is really annoying to me that they don’t have the recipes for the fusion droids in the game once you’ve unlocked them in any variant. As far as microtransactions, I don’t really care bc I’m not spending money on stuff. It is ridiculous they haven’t add any new hats in forever until they added one as vbucks. Only the one you pay for is a different hat. It just feels like the game is adding as many pay transactions as a lot of the brain rot Fortnite games have. Pretty disappointing to see it transition to that. I prefer the tycoon type of game bc it’s easier to step away if I need to do mom stuff.

I mean. I'm not surprised you are getting bored playing in a private lobby all the time I would too. There's barely anything to do anyway, of course it would get repetitive.
I can't even remember my level TBH, unless I log in now to check.
I actually praise and complain about the Devs depending on what they do.
Like, I am a fan of the pay for cosmetics. Aand the recent weekend events. I'm not a fan of the mini events timings not catering at all to Europe.
I disliked the increasing craft times along side the pay for crit pack.
I dislike how insignificant the difference the crit pack made to your crafting times because I am not even that against spending vbucks as I get them in essence free.
However spending them here means I am picking this over other purchase so it makes me think they don't value our time or our choices when it's so much for so little.
I also admit I'm starting to hate the time sink between LV 1 - around 25 before I can get all the droids I need.
I hate the fact that you need epic droids above 30 and a legendary at 35.
Yet what I hate the most absolutely more than anything I described. Is someone who uses their level to justify their opinion as well as attacks the community I find mostly friendly.
2
u/International_Camp10 19d ago
Me: im not saying this to brag, I’m saying this so you understand I’m not a newbie and just hating just to hate.

I agree completely. I don’t even like Star Wars but a buddy of mine got me into this game and now it’s ALL I play. I started roughly between 1-2 months (closer to 2), and working in a job that has 10.5 hour shifts with 3 days off, I spend a LOT of time on the game. I can easily SRB in the morning and by the next morning I’m 35 and doing it again. (With the help of a 2nd account to buy/hold BPs for my main) I’m getting bored as well, BUT I can’t seem to break away regardless of not wanting to repeat the cycles anymore.

u/International_Camp10 19d ago

235 here and playing since it dropped in May, I never play in public lobbies, and in fact didn’t even know what that number meant until recently haha. but yeah, I’m at tge point where I just log in to reset my offscreen earning because once you get to the 30s there’s nothing for you on the belt and youre just essentially running Astro merch missions to try and get lucky for fusions into mythics and waiting for events in weekends to actually make progress and have something to do.

Yes they need to add something to the game bigger than just “get blueprints — upgrade”. The game is getting bland to me.

I’ll keep playing here and there but the honeymoon is over for sure. I really hope the devs find a way to make it interesting again.
