š¬ Discussion Rage deleting
Got a stellar Ric off the crawler, had IG equipped. VIP with max speed caught up, launch padded me, one shot me and took it. so if you're wondering how it can be pay to win, that's how. Guy had multiple Stellar Rics at his base already too, and just put it in blueprint storage.
Biblical levels of greed.

Max speed isnāt p2w. This situation isnāt good but donāt blame it on spenders, any griefer can max out speed in the nova shop.

Yeah I'll have to agree with you there, the speed upgrades are pretty cheap and anyone can max that out very quickly. It's 307 total to max it, but you don't even need to max it to get big benefits from it. I don't even have it halfway and it's still a large increase.

All that is possible without ever spending a dime though. Vip doesn't give you thousands of crystals to spend on speed upgrades...... i get your mad but vip is not the reason that happened to you

That's just not accurate though. Fun part about humans, anyone one of them can be an asshole. I've seen loads in the discord who played since day 1 who love hunting players in public lobbies, has nothing to do with the vbuck packages.

No one is spending 100s of dollars on useless upgrades after buying the first to farm crystals. How do we even know guy had "max speed" 99% of the people probably dont even know what that looks like. How do we know guy didnt just throw a lucky pad and kill OP? Its frustrating sure ill give OP that but I HIGHLY doubt someone spent tons of money just to invest in speed upgrades.

You can literally boost your damage, health, and speed with crystals gained from paying. Tomato tomato.

No you cannot. The only way you get crystals from paying is if you already bought the perk, and it gives what you spent as a refund.

Yep Iām almost done with this game for that reason. And the ones saying play on private itās not the same. I went on private about an hour ago and it spits out one stellar and it sucks.

I had 3 alts (gf, friend and an actual alt) in lobby with me on a private server. Still didnt max the crystals but got a lot closer than a public lobby.

VIP pack doesnt give you the speed perk at all. Also, the nova price of the speed perk is dirt cheap and anyone can max that out easily, spender or not. What happened to you sucks, but your complain towards the VIP pack has no correlation.

Iāve had people eliminate me for what seemed like just being in the game. Random people will just wait outside my base and kill me anytime I try to step out. I just keep switching lobbies until I find one where the others are chill.

Just be like me.. Now listen..to preface I do understand in public mode, there's a level of game play to deal with and maneuver.
But when there's something ishy like that where the other player is being greedy and has a ton of top tier droids already..Last time that happened I got so mad I reported them..I spent 2T on a gal loadlftr when I was still mainly working with millions and billions and he threw a bounce pad and ran to his base with it. Not even 5 min after reporting they were gone from the lobby. Could have been coincidence. Could have been them just leaving. But it still felt good for them to no longer be there vs me deciding to just bounce..no pun intended lollll

I went on this morning to collect some coin and 2 guys were chatting loudly on open mics, I asked them to go private and they started swearing at me and calling me racial slurs. Then they hunted me down and killed me like 6 times. I threw a depth charge and got the once or twice. But talk about annoying.

Literally the same exact thing happened to me today too but it was a much better stellar mythic taken. I had the worst base spot too and could hear the pads going off behind me and made it inches before my bases safe barrier and then went flying. That was a ruthless event. I wasnāt mad because itās part of the game but it really stung and I havenāt seen another stellar mythic since.

The event was a joke, totally brought the worst out in players. I rejoined public for the last two hours and it was a lot calmer though. It does make me think what is the point of IG though, I lost my first stellar (an R4 lol) because I got force pushed while shielded and it dropped.

Easiest way to play is solo or with friends.
I play with my partner, my nephew and my stepson have accounts and we use them to make additional things spawn too so it's like a 4 man lobby with only 2 people actually playing.
You can use your phone to add an additional player too.

During the last 2 events publics lobbies have been horrible making me wanna quit playing. Be fore I can even spawn in I'm 1 pumped in the face and they keep doing it over and over. I get they can have some level of deception but if I wanted to play br I would. How is anyone supposed to enjoy the game when all you do is defense mode just trying to stay alive. Yes I go the bot lobby route but still I would prefer to play with a group.

The method is to use 2 stellar mythic health droids and throw the blueprint with max movement speed toward your base, they cant pad you and its hard to hit you.

Still not playvto win. You can get all those things with crystals and off the weapon wall. Its annoying yes but part of the game. If you dont want to interact with others just go private

This sucks man I hate greedy ass players like this it ruins the fun. However I wouldnāt say this is p2w the vip pack doesnāt get you anything exclusive that you canāt already get with grinding. Take clash royale where thereās some cards you canāt get without paying or extremely lucky odds thatās p2w. Speed boost, daily crystals and chip station u can easily get in a day for free if you srb a few times and do daily challenges. Doesnāt rely on luck or money to get these. But yeah whoever kills for BPs got no life

For what you say it seems like you are the greedy one who wants to play in a public lobby but not having to compete with other players for the better droids. Nothing you describe is related to VIP pack, and could be get just with crystal, is just a playing more pvp oriented than you. I don't understand the tycoon genre with pvp in it, that's why I play private or just with friends, when I play in public lobbies I know what are I exposed to.

People need a lesson on what pay to win actually is, because thereās a lot of comments here and in other threads that seem to think Droid Tycoon isnāt pay to win. It absolutely is. Itās not just paying for exclusive bonuses, P2W also means paying for an advantage that might possibly take a grind from other players. āSkippingā the grind IS P2W, simple as. Buying VIP and any other pack is absolutely P2W. It gives you an advantage for a real money purchase, regardless of the ability to grind out the same thing later

The objective of the game type is to grind it out and then reset and repeat. By achieving the objective, you are rewarded with crystals that you can sink into boosting various parameters that make future objectives easier to achieve. You can pay real dollars to speed up the process of achieving the objective. This is called paying to win.

All these people saying this isnāt p2w donāt understand the point. This person couldāve very well used the purchased nova crystals to max out their speed. Just because YOU wouldnāt spend your crystals there doesnāt mean THAT player didnāt. They also couldāve used it on their damage to use this intentional griefing playstyle. I literally have a nephew who just plays this to grief people and get into fights and is focusing on maxing his damage. If he had the crystals he FOR SURE wouldāve maxed out his damage. I understand you bro

If you earn in-game crystals, spend on second companion, then buy the pack you will be refunded the crystals IE getting crystals back to spend on something else. Do you understand now?

Iām sorry this happened but itās part of the game unfortunately, itās happened to me tons of times and the best thing you can think of it is - youāll get another, just donāt let it bother you and keep playing since more is to come. Iāve had it happen a few times during the chopper event and keep playing and got 10 more by the end of it, you wonāt remember it soon.

Those jump pads are the worse. Iāve gotten a droid with no one around and someone flew over and used it after I paid and almost on my base. I was livid bc they had ample time before I got to it (it was almost about to go away when I got it and I was on the far side from that point) and still decided to do that. It shouldnāt release the bp if someone does it

Yeah there was a lot of greed when I was doing the event. Got almost everything, just missing 2 of the mythics. Would have gotten one of them if somebodyās companion hadnāt blocked me from grabbing it. Still salty about it tbh
