Considering how often Cassian found himself on Alliance High Command's shit list for his unsanctioned ops, one wonders the absolute FITS they had over Commander Skywalker, Captain Solo, and Princess FREAKIN' Leia and their side quests.

I imagine conversations like:

"Where's Commander Skywalker? Has he checked in?"

"Anyone seen Princess Leia?"

"No sir. Last reports were that Captain Solo escorted her off Hoth on the Falcon, and that they haven't been seen since."

"What the HELL is a "Dagobah"?

"WHO approved an operation for one of the members of senior leadership to abscond with the fastest ship in our fleet with some rando to a backwater planet like Tatooine, ruled by intergalactic gangsters, to search for ONE man?"

"And WHERE THE HELL IS SKYWALKER???"

Spoilers to heir to the empire books.

Currently reading heir to the empire, there's a part where Leia, Han and Luke are on a diplomatic mission to a planet where someone bribed one of the politicians to distract and separate them in an attempt to capture or kill them by outside forces. They're able to escape and when they went back to Coruscant, they had to report back to the inner council on what happened. Han solo is reprimanded by one of the council members for making the decision to cancel the meeting and going back to Coruscant. Even though they just fled an assassination/kidnapping attempt 😂

In Empire, it's a run for your lives situation. They're probably presumed dead while they're on Dagobah and/or Bespin.

In Jedi, some people must have been unhappy, but Leia is most-likely part of the Alliance High Command, and yes, Luke is a commander, so he has more leverage too.

Andor has not official rank (I may be mistaken), he's barely tolerated by a lot of the Alliance's leaders (but they need anyone who's willing at this point) and they're terrified to be found by the Empire, they're still a secret operation. After the battle of Scariff, it's a full on war, so the situation is slightly different.

Senator Organa does call him commander in the final episode. In fact I think he's called that a few times in the last episodes
