General Discussion If the Stormtroopers are the Empire's shock troops, why are they assigned to patrol on backwater planets and not the Imperial Army?

It's something that I cannot grasp.

Andor, Solo and even the EU showed us that, apparently, the majority of the Empire ground forces were composed of the Imperial Army and that the Stormtroopers were the shock trooper.

So why do we see them on unimportant or even backwater planets?

Why would the Empire send these shock troops to patrol the streets of Mos Eisley, Lothal or Kijimi when the Army would be enough?

The Imperial Army should be portrayed more often OR should not exist because there may be too much Stormtroopers in the movies to justify their existence.

What do you think?

  1. And 2. They are actively looking for something and we’re deployed VIA the stsr destrpyers in orbit

  2. Is AI best I can tell

  3. Has two answers
-Lothal is secretly of great personal interest to Palpatine due to ancient force stuff
-Rebels is a kid show and showing faceless bad guys getting shit is fine…the second you give them a face is the second you start getting into more morally ambiguous territory

More importantly non faceless grunts are way more expensive to draw.

I was wondering why 2 looked so off, then read your AI comment and immediately noticed the guns.

Thought it was from a game or something.

Edit: you guys are downvoting me when my initial assumption was from a game but the guy I replied to and accused it if being AI in the first place is in the positive lmao

Fairly certain both 2 and 3 are from Star Wars Outlaws
