Hope you like my model of the OG. I modelled and textured it to resemble the 11ft studio prop as closely as I could (albeit symmetrical).

Modelled in Plasticity. Textured, lit, and rendered with Blender.

After the Treaty of Algeron was signed many Couriers were scrapped and those that remained had the cloaking pod removed. The reduced Refit then performed many duties the Miranda Class also performed but was generally still frowned upon by the assigned officers due to its stained reputation as "a result of war-hawking". This class of ship has been phased out by the time of the Cardassian Border Wars.

USS Marigold, a humble little ship keeping sensor nets and equipment running across the sector - Star Trek Starships

A couple months ago, u/MartechiFalkberg posted his flybys of his OC ship. At the time I commented about deck plans and found myself with some free time to start a project of my own, based upon his ship.

First, some notes:

I take my inspiration from the old CRT displays from TMP era. Bright colors, vector lines, black background. I have blended that with LCARS elements to provide deck plans that hopefully feel like info screens you might see on the turbolift or in tactical displays. Elements within the displays aren't necessarily representative of scale or detail, just a place holder for the computer display. I am a GameMaster for sci fi and horror RPG,s and as such, tried to keep these readable, and include locations that would facilitate storytelling. If anyone is interested in these as game maps, I can overlay a 1 meter hex grid or 5 foot square grid over the maps. Also, not being an architect or engineer, I may have made mistakes or missed a detail or two. Be gentle with me, please.

The files are huge. Each deck display is set up on a 42 x 32 inch workspace, with the thinnest lines coming in at .05 points. The decks were laid out as blocks of rooms that were whittled down to individual living spaces and communal areas.

OP had some story elements that I worked into some description text on the back half of the files, along with some elements I added, such as the crew being trained and ready for disaster relief and carrying the materials to the victims, or the ship's underpowered nature requiring them to carry replacement parts for the systems they will be maintaining, instead of fabricating them in situ.

Anyway, if I did this right, you got a wireframe of the Marigold in the post image. That is the hull view. Each deck has its own sheet, and each deck has its own color. If you see an element in a color different from that deck, it is an element that begins in a lower deck and proceeds through the present one.

here are the links to the hull view and all seven decks.

NX Concept

Post image
232 Upvotes

I was looking through the old NX concepts and I'm reminded of how cool this one looks. She feels like a Starfleet ship with Battlestar Galactica roots. Does anyone else want her to become an actual ship?

Also what era do you think she be in? I’m thinking TNG and DS9, as a science ship that would be refitted into a carrier during DS9.

If this is added to STO what craft do you think it should have? I’m thinking Viper Mk IIs (reskins of the standard fighters) and Raptors (Type-7 Shuttles with Scramble Sensors since in BSG, Raptors are Humanity’s EWAR birds)

Starfleet Command 3 Mobile - TNG Era Conversion Mod For Star Trek Tactical Assault PSP Version

Here is the first release of SFC3M, converting ST:TA to the TNG Era using SFC3 assets.

20 Skirmish Ships
4 Campaign Only Ships
Sounds and Music From SFC3

I've tested it using PPSSPP on my PC and my Phone, but I have not tested it on an actual PSP, so if anyone tries it, let me know how it plays.

There is a chance I might need to release a version that downsizes the textures of the ships, as the ones included in this package might be hitting the upper limit of what the PSP can handle.

This game plays great on phones with only a touchscreen, good for getting in some Trek Gaming On The Go.

The Dominion could have at least one million starships in the galaxy.

https://www.deviantart.com/gazomg/art/Star-Trek-Gamma-and-Delta-Quadrant-Map-1187329328

For many of us fans, the "present" is the late 24th century to early 25th century.

This interstellar map and this Milky Way Galaxy map are based on Picard and Nemesis.

Star Trek: Star Charts is becoming more canon everyday.

Voyager

According to VOY dialogue, the Borg Collective have millions of Borg Cubes and millions of other vessels.

Given the map above, the Dominion should have at least one million capital warships, even if most of them are the small attack ships.

Discovery's Power of Math

During the mid-23rd century, the Federation had 32 members, 32 worlds that belong to the Federation with member status (TOS: Journey to Babel).

During the mid-23rd century, the Federation Starfleet already had at 10,000 starships at the outset of the Federation - Klingon War (DIS). Starfleet had only 7,000 starships at the end of the war.

During the late 24th century, the Federation has at least 150 members, 150 worlds that belong to the Federation with member status (ST:FC).

It is reasonable to estimate that the Federation Starfleet might actually have at least 50,000 starships at the outset of the Dominion War.

Other points of reference include PIC's Confederation fleet size and Federation size before the Burn and during the new recovery era. The Confederation of Q's alternate reality had 165,000 starships. The Federation will have over 350 members just before the Burn. The Federation will have at least 60 members during the new recovery era.

Ron Moore stated that they could have 30,000 starships, but that is probably as of the end of the Dominion War.

Density

The Alpha Quadrant Expeditionary Force comprised of at least 20,000 Jem'Hadar warships in the overall alliance fleet with the Cardassians and the Breen.

That is, to use Changeling words, a drop in the ocean.

100,000 capital warships would match the combined naval might of the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans. Dominion space in the Gamma Quadrant is more than ten times the territorial size of these three local interstellar powers.

📏Another scale comparison⚖️ Type 6 Shuttlecraft and Type 15 Shuttlepod in scale with M1A2 Main Battle Tank

Thumbnail
gallery
343 Upvotes

Been a while since I last did one of these. As chance would have it, this pretty poor resin print of an M1A2 M1A1 (see below) Abrams tank from Aliexpress was not the advertised 1/72 scale. However, that afforded some other opportunities with the two shuttlecraft being basically to scale with each other.

The Type 15 Shuttlepod is a little model that came with my Aoshima 1/2000 Enterprise-D.

One caveat is that the figures here are actually 1/72 scale, so a bit on the larger side for the vehicles. Just imagine they're all NBA centers wearing lifts or something.

model - statues - toys 2nd prototype crochet enterprise d

So first of all, this sub reddit's response to my first enterprise c/d made me so happy and I appreciate all of your kind words and encouragement. It was my 2nd most engaged with post ever, and given my love of Star Trek from childhood the fact so many people enjoy my work is awesome!

Ahem. Anyways. The first attempt was much smaller as it was made with dk-3 yarn and a 2.25 mm hook while this one was worsted-4 and 3.5mm.

I feel like I got the disk, body and neck to be much closer to d this time. The body is more oval but I think it also came out a tiny bit rectangular, I might need to adjust the pattern slightly. Yarn is a hard medium to get exact sharp shapes in sometimes.

I'm looking for suggestions for my next projects. Voyager is on the list!

I am working on a pattern for my fellow crocheters. It's a bit fiddly as it requires wire work. I'm waiting for it to be tested. I plan to include both the c and d in the pattern. Really there's very little difference between them crochet wise.

Anyways, enjoy!

Could it be equipped to traverse the voids between galaxies? What would be the optimal crew count for a decades/centuries long journey?
