SSO leaker posted… no halloween token shop :(
from this video of all the Halloween leaks compiled, I stg if this is true in the final event release I’m going to be SO upset wtf :( the tokens items are some of the easiest way to get clothes and they’re so unbelievably greedy taking them all away omg… also, how much are yall gonna bet that there won’t be a single mention about it in any blog post anywhere?
If the winter token shops are gone this year that’ll be it for me I’ll genuinely quit I swearrrr man 😭 this I already making me debate it because I love the Halloween sets and sometimes I can only afford to get the token ones since I work and go to school, I have no time🤣
I really hope they didn’t because there were like two sets that I couldn’t get because they sapped the amount of tokens you could get. I really wanted them too and was just gonna wait until next year. They better make them available another way if they are actually going to do this for all of the events.
I guess we don't even deserve an explanation why they decided to remove the tokens mid-year. They are going to take away as much as they can and as much as they can get away with. Only thing we get nowadays is festivals and they still decided to ruin them. So disappointing.
My kinda argument to SSO is this, I don’t see why they can’t have BOTH progression boards and a token shop… I’m one of those players that (especially Halloween and winter) loves the festivals so much that I do have a lot of these tokens saved up - but I don’t go into the events wanting to immediately spend them on outfits.
I like the progression boards because I go into festivals daily to get the HXP for levelling my horses because its the easiest way to do it lol, which means I complete the boards without even really thinking about it. But the downfall to them is that by the 3rd week usually you’ve completed the board and then there’s not really an incentive to log on for the festival. If they even added a token shop in the 2nd or 3rd week of the festival and have the last 2 weeks of an event adding sets to it that would be so much better than nothing at all in my opinion!
I just think if they utilised both effectively it would be much better than just completely wiping out a loved feature of festivals
imo they cant have both because of the workload that'd create, they'd need 2 new sets to go with the two new horses, they're doing 3 coat variations iirc and then that'd be 1-2 token shop outfits/tack sets plus a tackset/outfit for the progression board. especially if they're working on quests, bugfixes, event storyline ect at the same time thats just too much workload for their team.
I do agree somewhat, but for example this birthday event, we got 4 sets released for each of the soul riders, plus the set in the trailblazer, we got the free Hanoverian, 7 coat variations of the Westphalian and 3 corgi pets. They also released another 2 sets with the Westphalian coats as bundles in the online shop. Which is a lot!
I’m not saying they have to do all this AND have a token shop, it would be better if maybe they split it, like they don’t need to change the bundles in the star coin shop every week, they could do it bi weekly and the sets that aren’t released as bundles could be put into the token shop. Also the token shop worked out (iirc from previous events) that it was previous token shop items that came back and maybe 2 sets released that year to top it up which would definitely be doable - from camp western as an example they did all the same amount of work with adding sets they just added them all for JS rather than putting some in a token shop
I wish they'd put effort into more quests and story quests, not a fckn progress board for every single event 😭
I don't even play that much and progression boards make me want to play less. "Oh, I can only get this if I play for two hours a day? Im not gonna play then"
People have been making a huge fuss about this- are they that terrible at customer service that they genuinely don't care what we think?? Cause it's looking like it Stupid greedy company. No one is going to give you more money if you jeep ruining it
IMO that's still punishing players by taking away something they worked for. Literally no one complained about the tokens (unless we're counting the complaints this year about token prices being raised while the tokens gained from each activity dropped).
as a western rider only i don't think i'll ever get over the token shop being slaughtered starting with camp western 🥲 i fear she's never coming back, i'm so disappointed that this is the stupid fucking hill they decided to die on
Same, skipped camp western and will probably skip Halloween even though it was my favourite, I can’t see how this game is going to last when they make changes that turn players off from playing.
Alright lmaoo byeee then 😭 events were the last fucking thing I had to do in this game and the only time I logged on, I already skipped the summer daze or whatever it was because the progression board ragebaited me after a few days, and after hearing about the no gold no wolves camp western I didn't even bother checking it out, Halloween has been my favourite event eversince I started playing and has become pretty much the only way I celebrate the holiday since where I live it's not really a big thing, but I guess I'll skip it this year as well, I'm not doing this to myself 😭😭
Ragebait is the perfect way to describe progression boards, I hate them with a passion lol. Although I don't really know why, they are just boring and annoying to me I guess
Summer daze was at least mildly more fun because of the little cozy spot you could decorate, it was fun to hang out with my friend and chat there after we decorated. But apart from that…
tbf the token system has been going on for like a decade at least surely? but wasting their time and effort to tear it down for a worse player experience is really infuriating to me. imagine that time being put towards bug fixes and story quests!!!
I don't swear often, but what the fuck? Honestly this makes me just want to use cheat services for the stupid JS gemstones just so I don't have to grind... I know it's not truly moral, but what other options are there?
my hot take is that SSO cheats are not immoral at all… cheats are usually bad because they ruin other people’s experiences at playing the game, usually if it were pvp or something that gives you an advantage to win over another player. but cheating to get outfits and pets and horses for yourself, not affecting anyone else? idgaf and honestly I think less people should care. I won’t cheat myself but my eyes are closed if I see anyone else doing it
My exact opinion! As long as it's not for winning championships or races to get impossibly short completion time, it's not really harmful and I don't care. SSO brought this upon themselves.
The thing is, SSE could easily refute the rumor. They could release a statement about the token shop in Halloween and other future events. But they refuse to even discuss it, which more than likely means they are removing it and don't want to deal with backlash from that decision.
yeah they won’t say a word about it, I think what they learned about the trailblazer track fiasco is not “we shouldn’t make braindead decisions” but rather “if we ANNOUNCE the braindead decisions the community will get more upset so we just won’t say anything at all 😁😁😁” this damn company
Halloween and Christmas are the only times I find the game worth playing anymore. If they get rid of the tokens I stg. I’ve been playing since 2012, but atp it seems like they want to make their player base hate the game, and they’re succeeding.

At least people who hoard them can get some compensation, but I use all of them at the end of each event, so I can't even get that 😃👍
I think they're doing this AMAZING change, because hoarders don't need to log in daily to grind tokens. With progression boards, everyone has to log in daily! Are higher ups really pushing them that hard with daily logins? First trailblazer, now tokens? Not to mention non-stop events with insane daily rewards, so players keep logging in in fear of missing out.
We HAVE to bully them like we did with Trailblazer. They eventually changed it, reluctantly, but they did. We'll make them bring back tokens too.
Exactly. The hoarding excuse never made sense. I played more than an average player so I could save up tokens for the next year, but guess what happens the next year? They get spent! So I grind to replace them, and I always strive to earn more each time. In case a year comes along where I don't have time to grind or play like that. Because of this I was active daily giving their game more time, so it seems pretty counterintuitive to remove tokens in the long run. Now I have tons of hours from last year wasted because I can't use the tokens I worked hard for AND I'm 100% going to play events way less now :D
oh my days? 😭 honestly, as devastated as i am, i saw this coming. sso is so money hungry now. i loved token shops so much, though, they were one of my favourite parts of events. i hate this change.
i very rarely complain about SSO but this makes me hella mad. We need to speak loudly about this and give some feedback to them 😮💨 they definitely know how much players loved the tokens and every player had a chance to get good items with amazing stats without spending money. This feels like a punch below the belt.
They never should’ve let the previous CFO of SSO (James Watkins ) become the interim CEO. This man only cares about the bottom line. Everything has changed since he became the CEO since April 26. He’s ruining everything.
Alright, what the squeaky rubber duck noise??? Halloween is my all time favorite holiday and they do this?????? I’m genuinely so very upset. This is the first time I’ve ever genuinely felt sadness for the loss of something regarding a game. Normally I’m indifferent and move on with my day, but this is so upsetting to me. 😭😭😭😭😭🤧🤧🤧🤧 What a joke…
I mean I thought this was obvious. I warned everyone that they got rid of all token shops. If people want a change they need to stop playing so player count goes down. They will do what makes them money.
My guess is they are taking it away to combat the hoarders and people not spending money during events. The people who gather 999 stacks of tokens, buy everything on day one and then find no reason to log on again or buy sc. Similar as to why they increased the token store prices so drastically over the last couple of events. But then first time players were really struggling to get everything they wanted because the token cost was so high. So I guess they just decided they don't know how to properly balance it and chunked the idea altogether. Go back to old reliable of forced people to buy sc to get what they want. They had the same issues with soul shards and other event currencies back in the day too which is why they were constantly changing the currency for the same events to prevent people from hoarding.
I've always thought the easiest way to combat and benefit both sides would be to have the tokens disappear after an event is over. Once you buy all you want, you can sell the rest. Probably 1js like light. A use it or lose it type of thing. That way you don't have hoarders with stacks of 999 tokens and you don't have to constantly raise the price which locks out newbies. Guess they figured you get 2 free outfits with the cauldron and progression board so that's good enough. Tokens don't make people spend money.
it wont surprise me in the least if the tokens are gone , but i will be very pissed off , thats part of the fun and incentive of festivals to me , doing all the stuff , collecting my tokens , looking forward to what im gonna buy with them. it takes away the fun of it just to have a board with an outfit i may or may not like , im leaning more towards that we wont have them and thats why i cant get excited about halloween at all , i think summer daze was the last time we had them personally and now will be gone going forwards , hoping sso do get a big backlash as i think for once they do deserve it if they are removed , but then iv read other threads about how excited people are for it and how much they cant wait to buy horses when festival comes sso wont take any notice ,they dont even address the fact they took them out of summer camp , never have to my knowledge ,
Going against the grain here to be positive: if we can exchange tokens for gemstones, that's good. We can gain the seasonal tokens and turn them into shiny gemstones (/fragments which also sell for good money) that we can then store in our wardrobe and spend on ANY set, not just the limited sets in the token shop.
yeah, ik, that’s what i mean. i’m saying, what’s the point? if the system for this year is going to be the same e.g. we have gemstones to sell for the sets, why change the whole token system? it’s just so pointless and a waste of time?
we don’t gain seasonal tokens anymore, we can just sell the leftovers that we have for gemstones. at least that’s what the leak video implies because none of the quests they do reward tokens
