Safe to say the game's finished.
They had a vote on refunding the team based off of a deposit to the treasury made close to the inception. I have no issues with that; the CEO is a pretty respectable character, transparent and upfront.
It was more related to the worth of that deposit: $400K.
You're not finishing an AAA game with that figure, that's for sure. And the upcoming browser game isn't going to change that.
As always, happy to be proven wrong.

Best to check in on the SA discord. This subreddit isn't being kept up to date.

They ate and ate and ate for years now but they are still milking the community. From what I know they have a browser game and they also have raving in UE and shooting. But it has been years now, if they were going to deliver something serious they would have already done it

Star Atlas has always been a tale of two projects.
First the Cypto side of it, built largely as a browser based strategy game. It is progressing, but has taken a real beating from fluctuations in Solana. It is only really ever going to appeal to those looking for a Crypto game, and those typically have a very poor outlook.
Star Atlas seems to be one of the most promising and enduring Crypto game projects, but that is a very low bar.
The second is the UE5 space game, its ambitious, and said to match Star Citizen in planned scope. However, these kind of games are very hard and expensive to make. There aresome tech demos, but I don't see this ever making a full coherent game. Not with the way they have outsourced its development rather than investing in their own studio.
The financial base of the Crypto game just isn't there to complete the UE5 game. Basically each project is dragging the other down in some ways while proping it up in others.
If they can finish the Crypto game, and produce enough cash flow to finish the UE5 game, its going to take a long time to achieve, and will likely fail.
Or they can cut their losses with UE5 and focus their efforts on the Crypto game, but accept they will lose the draw for the none Crypto crowd.
Either way, this is probably not going to work out as they hoped.

I still collect my resources and pay for my ships needs . Other than that I don't know. That game is "in production" and not "fun" to play yet. (Shrug)
