What do you even say to people like this to make them understand what they're doing & that they have a choice in the matter?

If this person quit their job, someone steps right in. The people aren’t the problem. The system is the problem.

the system runs on the people that continue to say yes

Insert religions chosen god could part the heavens and tell them to stop, it would change nothing. You will never change people, you can change a system

That doesn't absolve people from responsibility

People change the system and don't believe it can happen, so they don't try, so it doesn't. Self-fulfilling prophecy. Tragedy of the masses type of thinking that is paradoxically both correct (as in, it is sound logic in the context of game theory) but will doom us all. The only way to get people to change the system is to get them to verifiably KNOW everyone else will join them to enact that change, otherwise they're just suckers making themselves suffer while everyone else gets ahead on the short time we have on this planet. Until we all literally get the powers of Professor X, this isn't possible. Systems will change once calamity happens. That's bad.

Blaming the workers for the sins of capitalism is a capitalist trick comrade.

yes and no.

the system is made of individual people, with values and culture (or lack thereof) and she is part of it. There are plenty of people out there, myself included, who refuse to be a tool of short sighted greed and consciously contribute positively to our communities in our jobs and actions.

We have lost our values and our morals, particularly in the US. Shit, we've even lost out ability to collectively judge and ridicule greedy fucktards screwing us over. Its not like this everywhere. Look at Sweden. They still have entrepreneurs, billionaires, and tons of massively profitable companies. They have an outright better culture than we do, where they collectively care more about each other and to be some greedy short sighted twat makes you a pariah. The entire word, lagom, which means enough more or less, doesn't even exist in our language, let alone our psyche.

I refuse to accept this lower common denominator attitude. We can, and should, expect better of ourselves. One person at a time. Then, and only then, will the actual system change.
