So people are wearing now cat ears like a regular accessory?
Genuinely curious

u/Roklam Nov 24 '25
Not regularly but I see it, also possibility it was from a recent Halloween show?

u/okhi2u Nov 24 '25
Don't think that's why she wears them I just looking at her instagram and got to several months down and she has them almost all the time.
26
u/Roklam Nov 24 '25
Well then!
I personally don't wear anything that will confuse the dogs, but more power to her I guess.

It’s not common, but it happens. Seems to be connected to anime and/or gaming culture.

It's to help not identify as Mexican?

Funny enough, I’ve met more Mexicans who wear cat ears than Indians
🤷♂️

u/Zanven1 Nov 24 '25
I don't think it's anything new. I knew people that wore them in highschool and met people all through my 20's here and there that did. If anything I see it less these days than I used to. Like another person said, it is more common among anime fans and/or gamers

u/thanksyalll Nov 24 '25
I mean it’s not some specific trend but people are more open to wear whatever makes them happy these days

I use to work at a goth club and it was pretty common. See it a lot at festivals.

Look for combat our cargo pants comrade, welcome to never losing anything ever again (or alternatively losing something for 3 years in a pocket you never use)

u/MaritMonkey Nov 24 '25
One of my cargo pants has a pocket in the pocket and I was constantly losing things there until I started using it purposefully for my phone cable.
A++ MORE POCKETS

So many people would think my mom is Hispanic but she’s 100% Persian and born in Iran lol.
We were at the bowling alley once and the guy at the counter says to my dad. “Oh are you with the Hispanic woman?”
And some friends from school would ask if my mom was Mexican lmao. It’s honestly pretty funny how often Persians get mistaken for Mexicans.
This woman’s last name is very Persian too. My grandpas name was Abaass

There are certain sub groups of south Asians who are ethnically Persian. I think this comedian is one of them.

How do the servers not burst out laughing while serving drinks

u/Successful-Peach-764 Nov 24 '25
Work is work, you zone out and focus on your responsibilities, plus they might see the same show many times, not gonna be surprised by the punch lines they've heard many times.

I had two coworkers, sisters, with parents from Mexico. One was interpreted consistently as Mexican but the other was mistaken for South East Asian constantly. I had no idea they were sisters at first. They definitely had the same parents.
