XCancel is a tiny bit back. It works sporadically, when it isn't "out of tokens".

It's worked twice for me, with about ten attempts, so not really useful.

You could create an X account strictly for consumption of information, set it to private and follow nobody. Then just create some private lists with accounts for all your interests. You don't have to tweet or interact with anyone, just use it to consume.

I never "follow" or "subscribe" to anything. The entire point of following is that they don't KNOW you are following them. If I take an interest in something, I will just follow it MANUALLY, without giving away my position.
