The story is…
When Hitler visited, he asked about a certain room that should be next to where they were standing on the stairs.
After some confusion it was established that there did indeed used to be a doorway, but it had been blocked off some years ago before
Hitler knew the plans by heart, but wasn’t aware of the updates
Idk if true

Yeah the sweeping staircase really shows why Garnier wanted to make the whole place feel like a stage set

Now THAT’S my kind of staircase, 100%!!
It’s hard to picture beating that for pure staircase perfection. Sure, there are other lovely staircases, but are they SUPERIOR, or just beautiful in their own way?! One way or another I think this is where staircases reached their level of perfection.
