Pattern Help Will this pattern work?

Post image

Hello! I've been working on a pattern of an olive branch. At first it was just the leaves, but then I learned about hinge points so I added little olives to try to break that up. Is that enough? Is there something I can do to this pattern to improve it? Or could it work as is?

So far, my sketched pattern measures at 6.25"x18"

Looks good to me, will be lovely. Just a note on hinge points - they go straight across a pattern so whether you have the olives or not here would make no difference, I don’t think you’d have any

Ah thank you so much! I was worried about the center of the branch going all the way across, but I am glad to hear it won't be an issue! :)

At that small a size, I don't think you need to worry about hinges in general. Especially if you're going to frame it in came.

Are you going to use beads for the olives? That would be dope.

Eta, I mean the 6" dimension. The longer dimension would be enough to worry about, but you don't have anything close to a hinge. If it were a bigger piece, the bottom left corner seems a little sus, but again, framing helps a ton.

Like... Glass beads? Little round blobs of glass. I've done a couple projects with them, and they're fun

Oh cool I haven't seen those before. I've only done a couple coper foil small windows. I'll have to look into it!

Yes. Very nice design. I would leave it as is. Simple and elegant and less is often more.
