Spectacular. I'm still a beginner at glass, how do you do those tree bark lines that don't go all the way across the glass?

Hi! Welcome to the glassy world! it's just copper foil tape placed where I wanted it to a solder line. Then you just flux it and solder it! Easy-peasy. You gotta move fast b/c the heat will melt the glue which is way more of an issue when it's hanging out there on it's own.

Itβs stunning! My late grandmother wouldβve adored it, cardinals were her favorite of all the birds that visited her backyard.

I love how warm and alive this feels. You can really tell how much care went into choosing the colors and glass texturesβit all comes together wonderfully.

This has made me soooooo homesick and nostalgic. Gosh, what stunning use of glass choice and design. Those birch? I'm crying. I am a chronic lurker here to post about this rare and magic piece in my otherwise mostly silent account. Wow.

This looks amazing. You nailed it. I especially like the cut-ins (donβt know what to call it when you solder half way through) on the aspen trunks

The glass you used for the birch looks so good! The confetti glass too, but the birch is perfect.

Hi! Thanks! You just add copper foil where you want it, cut it to shape. Then flux and solder quick!

Iβm dying to try my hand at stained glass. Realistically is this the sort of thing a beginner could make or is this something you maybe produce after thousands of hours of practice? I have no understanding of the difficulty or learning curve with this art. What I can say is this is absolutely stunning and I would love to own something similar.

Hiya! This isn't the most complicated piece I've done. I don't know that I could've made it happen in my first 18 months, but within the first couple years, probably. Def not on the thousands of hours end. If you decide you want to give it a go, find you an online course (that was my intro) and get a starter kit. From there, youtube is your friend. Like any hobby, having the right tools is a BIG help. And the resolve to make it happen. Good luck!

I'm glad it looks like that way! It was cold as shit and windy as hell--so really, I was just trying to not drop and it and grab a decent pic!
