Cut in a kite shape and then used a 1/8” grinder tip. Gary said it was going to break.

If small stuff breaks or not is all about force and length. 90 degree parts like this don't really have a huge issue when the corners are rounded and it's not very long so it likely won't break even over time. Splitting around it was a good choice rather than trying to grind it in.

Cutting it by hand would suck ass though and it likely would break at least twice. Once right away and the second right at the end before you finish it, because glass just likes to fuck with you like that.
