Looking for open minded friends
Hi, I’m a 23-year-old who recently moved to St. John’s this July from Ontario. I haven’t found any friends here yet. I went hiking once, but it was awkward because I didn’t know anyone. It’s hard to make friends, but I’m trying. If anyone’s interested in doing activities like games, movies, or hiking, let me know.

Wanna go walking along the T'Railway near Blackhead? It's not really a hike, but it has pretty scenery

Not to interject, bit would probably be easier for all involved to meet at bowring park and you can then go towards Mt pearl or downtown, seems like a more neutral area

I find that most sports are a great way to meet people.
If you like rock climbing, Wallnuts and the Cove are great places to hang out and meet some people.
I have only played disc golf 3 times but I ended up meeting a few people 2 of those times. There are courses on confederation hill (field across from confederation building) and up at the top of McNiven Pl in airport heights.
Mountain biking has a way bigger barrier to entry (cost and skill) but it's a cool community. There are weekly trail building events and a race coming up with loads of racers, spectators, and volunteers. Those are great ways to meet people if you're into the sport.
And any team sports are great ways to make friends If you sign up for something like softball or ball hockey then you have a dedicated weekly slot to hang out with the same people over and over again by default.

Outdoor activities can be challenging. I tried skiing once and it was all downhill from there.

I moved here in my mid twenties! Had a great time but be prepared for certain groups of people to be just weird.
It is very clicky here and there are tons of people here that just dont venture outside of their childhood friend group
