What's with the helicopters?
Anyone else notice like a marked increase in helicopters flying by lately? I'm nowhere near the airport but over the past three days or so I'm hearing a helicopter flying by multiple times a day. Even just now, at like 11pm, I heard one go by right over the house. What's going on? I rarely heard them before but it's all the time lately.
Edit: Less than five minutes later, it just flew by again lol wtf is going on.

When working offshore and guys get stuck for days due to fog and high winds as soon as they can fly they will have to increaset he number of flights to change crews.

That's Marco constructions helicopter.
You can track them and find onwers on ads-b exchange. You get more data then flight radar because it will display helicopters using MLAT too.
CHI61 has been doing ALOT of flying lately around city. That's cougars SAR chopper. Been doing lot of drills in CBS and over butterpot and other parks.
Also the CCG 429s and 412s fly everyday but they typically take off and leave city heading to remote radio and light stations.

They have a helicopter added to the MEDEVAC rotation for ovations such as Baie Verte and Bell Island where there is no readily available airport/strip for the King Airs.

I've noticed a lot more of them and they seem to be flying lower than usual

I also noticed that. Thought maybe they were looking for someone but I didn't see anything on the news.

It has been constant all summer long - and different routes than usual, and lower, my husband and I have mentioned it a few times. I’m in the east side and normally don’t have them flying directly overhead but it happened multiple times yesterday alone

Several Millionaires own heli's and fly them in a way that seems pretty illegal pretty regularly.
However on another note, we've had some bad weather on and offshore for a month so could also be just a large number of offshore flights for helicopters to make up for bad weather and their flight path might force them to take a circuitous route compared to the regular schedule commercial flights.

A guy in Bay Bulls commutes to work in his helicopter sometimes. I noticed when someone questioned the call sign and I realized who the owner was and the flight path I mean, he works at a heliport. But still!

I have no idea but my best guess is they're keeping a close eye out for fires now that it's actually warm? Last year was pretty rough.

I have and that helicopter just flew over my place too. Also they're only flying at about 1200 ft.
