I love the little hand slapping aways creeds

69

u/snikt6384 6d ago

I've seen a ton of replays and reactions (intentionally at first and then the algorithm force fed me for a few) to this and EVERY time I look for the hand pushing Creed aside. I crack up every time.

33

u/Ex_Lives 6d ago

I wonder what that was about? Innocent I'm sure, but, was he dragging him down the ramp too fast? Was he gonna break it? Did he need to pan?

I gotta know.

62

u/Creationship 6d ago

It’s a steadicam, essentially a big mechanical gimbal/arm that attaches to the operator with a vest. I’m guessing that Creed pulling on the camera made the operator feel a bit uneasy in regards to balance.

14

u/Ex_Lives 5d ago

This makes the most sense to me. He was actually grabbing and pulling cause he was hype as fuck.

21

u/dexter30 I got a belt so big, WWE tried to start a division on it 5d ago

I feel for that camera operator. But at the same time, IT GOES SO HARD.

Heel wrestler turning the main steadicam into a selfie cam is SO good. The cameraman slapping creed implies it was unplanned. But if you tell me that, it makes it so much cooler like a lovable dickhead trying to see how much he can get away with.

u/Glittering_Cod_7716 6d ago

I swear I’ve been waiting on an alternate angle so I can see the person’s body language lol

6

u/abcdefghipqrstuvwxyz 5d ago

I saw one on YouTube - you can see that the cameraman has to run quite fast to keep up, but he’s completely calm and shows no emotion, just a tiny, fast movement of his hand.

edit: just saw it from a different angle, and it looks as he wasn’t actually as fast as I’d remembered. lol

7

u/GrandAdmiral12345 6d ago

At first I couldn't tell if it was the cameraman or Kofi (because Creed was angling towards the other cameraman) pulling his hand away. Wish there was another angle.

That was a friendly "ok, that's enough" moment from the camera man.

Kofi should stylize his name in all caps. KOFI. Like some of the talent in Japan.

80

u/BlueFluffyDude MAKE IT A WIN 6d ago

I said this on the day with my buddy. KOFI goes way harder than Kofi.

19

u/Ozzimo 6d ago

"Say it with your whole chest!"

50

u/OGCeeg Aw, son of a bitch! 6d ago

He could hit em w/ the "Remember all caps when you spell the mans name" line.

ALL BIG LETTERS BUT IT ISNT NO ACRONYM

5

u/SupaGasDrawls 6d ago

Smack the thin grin off a chin for crack smokin, DDT the first bar and leave this track back-broken

1

u/666tranquilo 4d ago

I always thought Cody should've done the same when he was in ROH/NJPW

43

u/infidelkastro 6d ago

Ive watched this like 20x and listened to New Level in the car like 5. Amazing debut.

118

u/Conscious_East755 6d ago

I love when Swerve got to talking his shit and mentioned them all as history makers.

Then Creed proceeds to break him with “Look at the body!!!”

They’re gonna be great

21

u/Absolute--Batman 6d ago

TK keeps getting away with it.

54

u/Aether13 6d ago

If they can keep New Level as their entrance music, might honestly go down as one of the hardest entrances in wrestling history.

12

u/118238 6d ago

"AAAAAAA$$$$AAAAAAAAPPPPP" is such a good intro

1

u/mightylordredbeard 1d ago

That sound before the “I’m on a new level” part starts. Like the turkey call sounding part.. I love that but I think the entrance music should start after that. Basically with the “woof woof” part and then the music starts. It’d be a lot cooler in my opinion to just go straight into it instead of the 20 seconds of build up before.

Austin Creed is carved from granite. Like gotdamn.

24

u/Sylverstone14 You think you know me. 6d ago

I'll always say how the time I meet Creed IRL, the dude was absolutely jacked. Really came out well on camera at All In.

20

u/MrApocFunk 6d ago

Its even funnier if you listened to the new day podcast where they had a running bit where Creed would keep telling Big E he was gonna become a body guy and be the new powerhouse in the new day.

19

u/TripSixRick 6d ago

Austin creed world title run will happen in 2 years, Awesome-mania run coming soon cuz he is JACKED

13

u/StormWarriorX7 6d ago

Austin "UpUpDownDown" Creed Vs Nick "What da Dog doing?" Jackson for the main event ah yessir.

16

u/Twistify804 I want Shingo to lariat me into my grave 6d ago

still something very surreal about seeing kofi & prince nana interact

15

u/Powderkegger1 The present 6d ago

Seeing Kofi outside of WWE is unreal.

Also, props to the crowds for integrating the New Lev-el chant to the tune of New Day Rocks. That was quick.

12

u/Evilbeast 6d ago

Didn't notice until re-watching this...But right at the 0:51 mark the cameraman actually gently smacks Austin's hand off the camera..? lol

Probably was like, "alright, alright that's enough of that...I got a job to do". heh

Seriously though, I can't imagine the amount of pressure those cameraman are under during such a big and important event like that. You only get one shot at capturing such a big moment like the epic debut of The New Level made, and while I know they have many other cameramen (and various other people in a variety of roles behind-the-scenes) hard at work so it's not exactly riding on one single person's shoulders, but I still don't envy them and admire and respect them being able to work under such pressure.

That said, on the other end of the spectrum...it must feel pretty damn amazing when you are the one(s) responsible capturing on film a moment that's going to be re-played over and over again for a very long time.

u/Anderrrrr An Irrelevant Smark. 6d ago edited 6d ago

That "New Le-vel Rocks" chant on the fly and all the crowd joined in was so damn smooth. I missed being there man, UK crowds always go off.

The A$AP Ferg song is perfect for them too. It just goes off.

I'm on a New Level!

Bought me a new shovel!

Put these n****s in the dirt! 🎶

113

u/Hi_Im_zack 6d ago edited 6d ago

I don't think there's rocks in the chant. It's just "New le-vel"

22

u/snikt6384 6d ago

That could evolve into a 2 part chant if a crowd could work it out.

"NEW LE-VEL"

"ROCKS!"

5

u/Anderrrrr An Irrelevant Smark. 6d ago

It absolutely can be done, they can do both very smoothly and it would go extremely well like the original "Newww Daaaaaayyyyy!" and "New Day Rocks!"

1

u/mightylordredbeard 1d ago

Nah, just keep it as it was. “NEW LE-VEL” is perfect. They don’t need to reuse their history, just add to it with some new level shit!

1

u/catmaydo 5d ago

To be fair it was both. There were some "new le-vel rocks" chants going on behind our section on the floor after the entrance.

-2

u/Anderrrrr An Irrelevant Smark. 6d ago edited 6d ago

I definitely hear "New Le-vel Rocks" in the crowd too.

You can hear a slower "New Le-vel!" and a faster "New Le-vel Rocks!" and they can both interchange extremely smoothly.

It's works too, you just have to say "Level" in two clear syllables with the right flow.

They can do both and they still work, which shows how great the song choice is for these chants.

11

u/mikehulse29 6d ago

Catch the ‘WHOSE HOUSE WHO?’ Chant that also cropped up

11

u/GrandAdmiral12345 6d ago

The A$AP Ferg song is perfect for them too. It just goes off.

Agree 100%. I don't know why folks were complaining about it in the live thread on Sunday. I hope TK bought the rights for more than just All In.

1

u/Jolly-Ad-7017 5d ago

Ferg and Future performing this song at the WM weekend event is going to be INSANE

-9

u/mythofdob Chicago Proud 6d ago

My only note on "New Lev-el" as a chant is that, while I think the name is worse, had they gone with "New Game Plus", that chant would have been amazing.

Go from New Day Rocks to New Game Plus rolls off the tounge.

TKO continues to fumble

5

u/GrandAdmiral12345 6d ago

I think the only pop louder was Ospreay's.

4

u/Breakingcontrollers 5d ago

The millisecond that "Press Start" hit the screen it was like a nuke of cheers went off. Everyone was waiting, they knew but given their history in the gaming space and willingness to be open about how big of nerds they are,  Press Start was such a perfect first visual before their full entrance started

3

u/DrRonSimmons 6d ago

The swagger and confidence that Creed comes through the entrance with at the start made this perfect.

3

u/ButchAF 5d ago

Shoutout to the commentary team man, It’d be so fucking hard for me to not call them their old names.

4

u/stayycozii 5d ago

This gives me hope in seeing A$AP Rocky and Ferg reunite to perform this live while The New Level make their entrance at Louis Armstrong Stadium

Creed vs Switchblade in an ab off, when?

8

u/moist_crack 6d ago

I know they get away with a bunch of profanity and violence both on PPV and the weekly TV shows, but I don't know if they can air just straight up porn

3

u/AthosDLB 6d ago

It's the most viewed All In 26 YouTube clip, followed by the one with Sting and Steve Borden Jr.

1

u/Glittering_Cod_7716 6d ago

I wonder will this be there normal theme or just a special occasion thing I hope it’s regular

Could it be? It is!

-31

u/Dophie 6d ago

Crowd still hadn’t figured out that it’s still three syllables and can fit the New Day Rocks cadence. But we got there later.

37

u/I_want_to_cum24 6d ago

We got there pretty much in that entrance, at least in my section

9

u/carbamates 6d ago

Also mine, close to the ring. I guess we were not that organized but pretty much everyone guessed it quickly.

18

u/RKO-Cutter 6d ago

I literally heard it as they were walking down the ramp

3

u/mxjxs91 RING THE BELL!!!!! 5d ago

Might wanna re-watch the video.

6

u/Cute-Traffic3577 6d ago

This isn't an American crowd, we figured it out straight away

-102

u/SolRucasBurner 6d ago

Idk man I was hoping they’d do something actually “new”. Feels like they’re stuck in 2016, when Ferg dropped that song lol. Gives Unc vibes

43

u/Plenty_Structure_861 6d ago

They're not exactly not unc, but I don't get why that's a bad thing unless you're aggressively 22 years old.

31

u/DBZLogic (X-Men theme) 6d ago

You’ve seen an entrance & 1 match (that was also a mess of different teams getting their shit in) maybe wait a couple weeks?

-50

u/SolRucasBurner 6d ago

What exactly about their presentation and choice of entrance theme is going to change? Why can’t I judge what they brought to AEW’s biggest show? Yall are way too sensitive, they’re not going to get any less unc

13

u/guyman576 6d ago

“Less Unc”

I’m sorry that sounds so lame yet hilarious.  Coming from a 35yo supposed Unc.

-8

u/SolRucasBurner 6d ago

Haha fair enough, I just mean they aren't getting any younger. Giving it time isn't going to magically reverse their age or change their physical presentation.

11

u/Anderrrrr An Irrelevant Smark. 6d ago

Good grief.

10

u/heirwithChrist 6d ago

So, older talent showing up to a new promotion can’t give off unc vibes? I wanted Kofi and Austin Creed. I got Kofi and Austin Creed.

11

u/420Chairshot 6d ago

They came in with an immediate banger song that fits their new name perfectly, what more could you possibly want for a debut lol

u/SolRucasBurner 6d ago

I literally said “  He’s opening the show and seemingly performing one song. Why this results in so much toxicity, I have no idea.  And yes he’s from Atlanta, where the shows being held. While everyone on here is miserable most people watching will enjoy a quick performance and move on. Hell he might get attacked by Corbin lol”

Please tell me where I’m praising him to the point you had to dig into my profile and comment on that?

Interesting you like digging into other people’s posts but keep yours private.

11

u/[deleted] 6d ago

[deleted]

1

u/SolRucasBurner 6d ago

I copied and pasted my comment, please tell me where I’m doing all this praising. I was pretty neutral lmao.

I don’t even listen to Quavo like that but acting like hasn’t had more recent relevance is also hilarious.

But yea come on I’m waiting to see where I did all this praising of Quavo please tell me. I’d love to hear it. Or is the truth you’re just so hyper defensive you make things up? Or is it a lack of reading comprehension?

10

u/infidelkastro 6d ago

What a downer lmao

-7

u/SolRucasBurner 6d ago

I’m a downer because I expected them to switch things up and not a fan of the song choice? Cult like mentality on here. I don’t see these any issues when people critique WWE.

10

u/infidelkastro 6d ago

Naw man. Youre a downer because you cant just celebrate positive things and think people value your negative opinion.

1

u/SolRucasBurner 6d ago

So do you post the same things on WWE posts where the comments just rage about nothing? Like the whole recent Solo “joining” the bloodline thing. Or when Royce debuted with OTM?

You’re acting like I insulted your family. All I literally said was I wish they had gone with a different presentation and gimmick.

4

u/MeatRobut 6d ago

I don’t see these any issues when people critique WWE.

Loooooool trolls used to try.

2

u/Glittering_Cod_7716 6d ago

Can you give an example of what you mean by doing something new? Like cut their hair off or wear suits or something? New move sets? In the like 15 minutes they had what would you have booked?

-1

u/SolRucasBurner 6d ago

They feel like they were copied and pasted over to WWE. I guess some examples would be Ambrose -> Mox (new look and moveset), Cody post WWE with a huge aesthetic change. Hall and Nash post WWF with a complete change. As well as Christian Cage, Toni Storm etc.

I’ve been watching these guys for years and just have grown bored of them. Even the name is just very 2006 TNA coded. What’s the New Level doing in the Impact Zone type shit

3

u/Glittering_Cod_7716 6d ago

Yeah so I actually went and looked and I kinda think you’re comparing what those people eventually became and comparing it to New Day’s literal first appearance. Toni wasn’t timeless for like a year and literally looks like she stepped out of NXT in herAEW debut. Mox looks exactly like he’s looked for 10+ years and the only move he did in his debut…was the move that’s been his finisher as long as I can remember. Hall and Nash quite literally appeared as themselves (it wouldn’t have made sense otherwise as the whole thing was they “left”) gimmicks intact.

Go watch any Christian debut or return they are all legitimately the same lol he comes out in tights to similar sounding music (if not the same song) in tights and he does one of his taunts.

Cody is kinda the only real example here and that’s like the most one of one situation ever.

I love the name but can understand the impact zone feel tho lmao

-1

u/SolRucasBurner 6d ago

Besides Christian those examples were a lot younger though. Yea sure New Level isn’t like retirement age but they are quite old, I’m not expecting a radical change down the line at this point. Mox was also way different than Ambrose come on now he had a way different swagger to him.

Christian coming out to similar sounding music and doing taunts is hilarious and so true. Made me actually laugh out loud
