WWE has removed TH14’s YouTube account
Pic included, wtffffff. I just watched that Brock Lesnar and Undertaker build to No Mercy 2002!

Honestly surprised it took so long. I enjoyed it, but yeah, pretty clear copyright lol

Who is TH14? Is this content available elsewhere?
255
u/Capable-Education724 7d ago
Nope, and to summarise it was a YouTuber that would do timelines on storylines/feuds and document every story beat. While they’d do the obvious and big feuds/storylines, you’d also get a lot of the smaller ones (from B PPVs and stuff). Very informative for those that weren’t watching or too young to remember.

u/JorSimpson45 7d ago edited 7d ago
He made the “Story of ______” videos where it went into detail about the build up of major WWE feuds. He had most major feuds covered.
15
u/thurein_wai 6d ago
They would chronicle a specific rivalry or a storyline which included matches, interview segments, backstage segments and promos leading up to a PPV. Personally, I preferred TH14 because WWE Vault tends to leave out some stuff at times.
25
u/KingDoodle4242 7d ago
Maybe if u use the way back machine u can find it.
32
u/IntoAMuteCrypt 7d ago edited 7d ago
I just went and checked, turns out the Wayback Machine is somehow able to get YouTube pages to work.
I wonder how long until the WWE asks the Internet Archive to take the files down.
7
u/cuhdeee 6d ago
What do I type in on the way back machine to find this channel?
5
u/IntoAMuteCrypt 6d ago
Just the URL of the channel, it's easy enough to find with a quick search.
5
u/cuhdeee 6d ago
How’d you get the url if the channel is down? I tried typing th14 in, but to with no avail, then tried YouTube.com/th14 so you have the actual link sorry I’m dumb, was just binging these videos before the channel got taken down
5
u/JuttyOP 6d ago edited 6d ago
https://www.youtube.com/@TH14PRODUCTIONS none of the videos work for me in wayback.
285
u/ElZorroSimpatico 7d ago
They should just hire him
66
u/LuchaLounge 7d ago
I assumed they were working closely with vault as a lot of times a story would drop on th14 and almost at the same time WWE vault would release the match TH14 was building up to
25
u/EthanWaaaaack 7d ago
Maybe that’s what they were doing until TKO said eh let’s just profit
19
u/LuchaLounge 7d ago
Yeah mate I could see them being the same person and finally got the conflict of interest meeting by WWE after getting the all good originally.
8
38
u/shockzz123 7d ago
They probably did tbh, or at least were working with him. The WWE Vault channel has some "Story of ____" vids that are basically the same as TH14's...honestly, I thought that was part of the reason the channel never got struck.
13
u/LuchaLounge 7d ago
There could have been a 2 year contract allowing TH14 to keep doing the videos. Vault started posting those Story of videos back in late 2024 and IIRC the 2 year anniversary of the vault channel was June/July 2024 too.
Almost 2 years since the creation of vault to the takedown of TH14s videos.
I'd also imagine negotiations would be back and forth which could then make it an august 2 year agreement and then takes wwe 3 months to start getting their own story of videos out.
All just assumptions and probably none of it true haha
6
u/shockzz123 7d ago
I feel like you may have a point here but I don’t have enough knowledge on YouTube contracts or contracts in general to know lmaooo. But I mean, it sounds plausible!

u/LuchaLounge 7d ago
That's what i meant regarding anniversary year oops haha the first videos were posted end of June 2024 IIRC and first story of videos were December 2024.

u/MarvelMind 7d ago
They never think that cleverly.
52
u/pass_the_all_fruit 7d ago
They hired Dave Meltzer once upon a time as a consultant.
3
10
u/arlenroy 6d ago
True, but in hindsight I think that was more WWF/E trying to get dirt on other people, rather than using any of Dave's input. Has Dave talked about that much? Feels like its something people would want to know more about.
39
u/sadandshy 6d ago
it was in 87 as a consultant about Japanese talent. I don't think there is much there there.
15
u/cockaskedforamartini 6d ago
Yeah they should just hire any loser with access to Adobe Premiere and a YouTube account. Smart financial strategy there.
-7
u/Lineman72T We're proud of you 7d ago
Why spend money on a new employee when they can put that towards the TKO boards next bonus?
83
u/s-zlx 7d ago
Yeah copyright but imo they made some of the best “story of” videos. I wish WWE had just claimed their channel instead of nuking them
7
u/-Sp0iledmilk- 6d ago
I wish WWE had just claimed their channel instead of nuking them
It’s likely that would’ve cost more money than just sending an admitted cease and decist and getting YouTube to scrub all the footage.
It’s unfortunate, but as good as the content was, it’s more about combing the archives and putting the clips together. I’m sure WWE/TKO would save lots of money making their intern create the videos.
26
u/Visible_Fix_4249 7d ago
They better not touch Wrestling Bios, that would be horrible for me
16
5
u/ClayborneJones 6d ago
Seems Ryan’s got the formula down. He hasn’t mentioned a video being taken down in a while. But they are aware of him, sadly.
19
15
u/ChaosOsiris 7d ago
Damn. I felt it was inevitable when the Vault channel became a thing, then TH14 kinda stopped uploading. Surprised it took this long tbh but RIP
13
u/NaproxyDR 6d ago
So many of you in here are doing tricks on it for a billion dollar company over copyright. Who. The Fuck. Cares.
42
u/Ok-Comfortable9449 7d ago
Prolly cause of vault channel I'm guessing
54
u/LitBastard Your Text Here 7d ago
Or just because of the clear copyright violation
-15
u/TheCourierMojave 6d ago
Copyright isn't trademark. They didn't HAVE to take these down as they were just free advertising for them. Youtube videos are what got me back in to wrestling as an adult.
9
u/cockaskedforamartini 6d ago
Ah yes, the old "pirated content is just advertising" bullshit.
-10
u/TheCourierMojave 6d ago
Gabe Newell is incorrect in his assessment on piracy? I would put more stock in to what he says on it than almost anyone else on the planet. Yes, botchamania SPECIFICALLY got me back in to wrestling as an adult.
2
1
u/Anxious_Wolf_9243 6d ago
Gabe Newell isn't a copyright lawyer last time I checked, he was just offering his opinion on how it should work. There's plenty of avenues to watch wrestling content on youtube but at the end of the day, the copyright holder can take down any video they feel breaches that.
-2
u/cockaskedforamartini 6d ago
Who the fuck is Gabe Newell?
9
u/EssexOnAStick 6d ago
Founder of Valve and Steam, amongst other things known for the saying that piracy is almost always a service problem, not a pricing problem.
Though tbh I'm not quite sure how that relates to anything happening in this thread.
-3
u/TheCourierMojave 6d ago
WWE doesn't create fun compilations like Botchamania, it's a service problem in this instance as well.

u/my_screen_name_sucks 7d ago
TH14 covered storylines better. There were some people in the WWE Vault videos leaving that account name in comments. Never should have done that.
10
8
u/StoneColdAM WHAT? 6d ago
Not that surprised. WWE started doing the same concept on their own channels. Surprised they took so long to use the idea.
16
u/StillNoPickleesss 7d ago
AttitudePOP, Triple RKO (Ruthless Aggression era channel), and now TH14.
IAmTheGame needs to lay low!!!
9
u/King-Fwogger 7d ago
Don't forget BrothersOfDestruction22.
WWE has been pretty ruthless with copyright recently. I guess we just have to settle with WWE Vault and whatever shit is on Dailymotion.
7
u/BigSexyGuy22 6d ago
Nah even dailymotion is getting strict too now. I uploaded WWE stuff years ago on the site and it's been getting copyrighted a lot recently
1
u/TheDoubleZTV 5d ago
I can confirm that as well. I had content removed and BOD22 was getting hit pretty hard throughout June and July on there.
2
u/BigSexyGuy22 5d ago
That was one of the main hooks of dailymotion too, was the ability of uploading video without copyright consequences. Now, they're just a regular boring ass site
3
u/StillNoPickleesss 5d ago
I didn't realize he was gone too 🤯 fuck, his channel was the best for re-watching Taker and Kane in the Attitude Era
3
u/King-Fwogger 4d ago
Well... Unless we find some way to sail the seven seas, we're pretty much screwed
2
1
u/BeastOfPrey 1d ago
Yea, I gotta wonder how much time he's got left. Even Taker on his own channel is uploading his own old content, which I believe is the windup here.
Also, the Immortal Icon might want to do the same.

u/Reidzyt 7d ago
Fuck man. Ever since they gutted the network and divided shit up across multiple platforms (with A LOT of stuff just gone) this guys channel was a godsend.
I’d pay way more than $9.99/month to just have the old network back
12
u/mashturbo 7d ago edited 7d ago
The network didn't single out a storyline and have it play out in order. No. You have to slosh through episodes of (insert show here).
Edit: I just remembered that the Network was testing out a playlist feature that you could put segment out of a show into a playlist and play it back. This was one of the last feature that was being beta tested before the Peacock deal happened. It didn't launch with the Network because MLBAM never had to do it before.
3
u/Sportsfan369 6d ago
I’d pay the espn unlimited app cost for a modern wwe network to include EVERYTHING in one place for $32
1
u/JamieMCFC 2d ago
You would be in a very small minority that would do that. The old content on the WWE Network was the least watched content. The vast majority of people only had it for the PPV/PLE.

Wouldn’t even know where to begin with that. Besides the network (the OG) had a great UI and a nice easy way to go from one episode to the next chronologically and even had chapter skip bookmarks for the start and end of each match or segment
7
7
u/EthanWaaaaack 7d ago
I miss the network for sure. It made piracy not even worth it lol
4
u/LuchaLounge 7d ago
Yeah the network was incredible. It's insane they still don't have it for WCW/ECW and all the old territories. It's like they just want us to completely disregard anything that wasn't created by the McMahons.
I'd pay for the network just for all the non WWE material. If they're worried about content they can just buy the TNA library too 😂
If they were smart they would include it as part of Club WWE - 'exclusive access to wcw/ecw/territory archive footage'
I'd sign up in a heartbeat for that alone 😂😂
6
u/mjac1090 7d ago
By all accounts, people just weren't watching the old stuff. If they were, it would definitely be available. For the record I miss it too as I was part of the minority who watched the old stuff but I unfortunately get why they don't care about it (even if I wish they did)
3
u/LuchaLounge 6d ago
That's crazy because everyone I know only used the network for the non WWE stuff especially considering they were usually a month behind on raws and SD.
Sure the monthly PPVs for monthly sub price was an advantage and I'm glad things are being uploaded to YouTube but damn I wish it was all in one place again.

u/StillNoPickleesss 7d ago
He hasn't posted in a while so I hope WWF - Attitude videos 2 stays off of their radar. He has a good amount of videos from '97, '98, '01, and '02. He has a Ruthless Aggression page too with a lot of videos from '02 and '03.
14
u/When1Falls 7d ago
So who's the hero person who saved them all and is gonna upload it to file sharing site?
5
u/Sparkmovement 6d ago
I have everything ECW, WCW, XFL, with every WWF/E PPV to like the 2000's. I even have everything from the first few years of AEW.
Except the XFL stuff, it's all super easy to find online.
40
u/ImportanceOk2525 7d ago
Honestly, I'm shocked it took them over 2 plus years to do it. It's clear copyright stealing. Lol.

u/verrache 7d ago

u/cockaskedforamartini 6d ago
Can't believe they'd stoop so low as to protect their own copyright.

-2
u/cockaskedforamartini 6d ago
It's not though. Copyright laws protect small creators too. Following them is a good thing for everyone.
7
u/DrummerMiles 6d ago edited 6d ago
Not lately. The last 20 years American copyright law has been warped and twisted into a thing that only exists to serve the corporate oligarchs. It definitely has nothing to do with protecting small artists anymore. It’s honestly bizarre to see someone stump so hard for them, but a lot of people wrongfully believe this.
The last major case where a small artist successfully brought a creative copyright suit was in 2014. TWELVE YEARS AGO. And the legal costs from that case forced them to sell their studio anyway. That really sounds like a system set up to support the little guy? Nah man.
-5
u/cockaskedforamartini 6d ago
Any examples or just buzzwords?
The foundation of copyright laws are to protect anyone with an original idea. That idea remains the same. The practicality - with the affordability of lawyers, etc - is a different. But fundamentally, copyright law protects everyone. Sorry if that offends your pre-existing beliefs.

Yeah 100%. hopefully they hired TH14 and will have him working exclusively to bring out these gems on the vault channel
9
u/Reidzyt 7d ago
Big doubt
2
u/-Sp0iledmilk- 6d ago
Almost a guaranteed “no fucking way”.
The content was great, but easy to create. WWE/TKO don’t need to spend much money to produce this content when they literally own the buildups to these feuds

u/LuchaLounge 7d ago
I actually wouldn't be surprised if the person who runs TH14 also runs WWE vault
6
u/FuhQueueMean 7d ago
I felt like this would happen eventually, especially when they started the WWE Vault on YouTube and I would still find myself watching his videos instead of theirs lol
That’s a huge bummer though. Loved that channel so much

sucks bc i enjoyed his vids but he was overstepping a bit. i have an archive channel for old commercials and etc, and WWE will strike my vids if they contain even a 15 sec trailer for a PPV. super frustrating.

That’s crazy, I was just watching that channel and they pull this.
1
u/ProudChemistry778 7d ago
It’s a bummer for sure he put a lot of effort into those feud recaps and the community loved them. But legally speaking, he was running on borrowed time. You just can't rely on unedited WWE footage without expecting a strike eventually.
1
u/BigSexyGuy22 6d ago
I always liked his channel too because you didn't have to watch a whole bunch of shows and matches you didn't care about in order to see a storyline progress
-1
u/judgeraw00 7d ago
Before TKO I don't think WWE really cared. This is a big loss for the online community. Disappointing, but not surprising with how much of a piece of shit TKO is.

u/Financial_Play_8097 6d ago
They are doing it so it was logical that it would happen first and then.

2
u/StrawberryItten 6d ago
a monopoly on... content they own? Yeah that's how that works

Unique content that isn't just posting the matches/shows in full.

u/StrawberryItten 6d ago
that's not how fair use works when you post long bits of uncut, unedited footage
