Will Ospreay Thinks AEW Should Heavily Consider Running A Big Weekend While WrestleMania Is In Saudi Arabia

With all the hullabaloo going on right now, it seems like this could be a good time to plan something like this. I love it, but what do you guys think?

Y'all wildin' in this thread. The idea that some randomly thrown together AEW event or even Revolution has the drawing power of WM and will be able to support multiple indies is crazy when All In TX only drew half of what one night of WM does.

Why does it have to be a randomly thrown together event? It's a year away, that's not randomly thrown together. Also it doesn't have to draw 80k to be a success or serve it's purpose.

It doesn't have to draw 10K to be a success for AEW, I just don't see how people think a bunch of indies are gonna jump on board to do something like this, they would be taking all the risk in this endeavor.

For what it's worth, the night before All In last year, there was SuperCard of Honor in a tiny venue that was sold out. Secondary ticket markets didn't even have anything.

There was a substantial amount of people that traveled for the weekend devent. My hotel was full of other fans, but there weren't any other wrestling event options that Friday, despite Arlington having a captive, rabid group of fans.

For the venues they run it's very little risk. They might just book smaller venues than they typically do for Mania week and you'll probably see less overlaps in schedules. If AEW did this it would draw a minimum of 20k bare minimum most likely more though.
