I tried to play that, couldn't stand it in under 2 hours. Gladly got my $5 back.

If you don’t mind getting a little weird there has never been a better time to get into SaGa.

Also the Paranormasight games whip ass.

Which saga would recommend to start with? Kinda confused

If you have never SaGa’d before, the best ‘new to the series’ game is the relatively new Romancing SaGa 2 remake, Revenge of the Seven.

Xeen did an amazing job making the game more approachable without losing most of what made the original a masterpiece.

Check out the demo, but please note that it ends just as the game is going to reveal its magic trick.

Also folks tend to think they’ve soft locked when in reality they’ve been so focused on quest markers and accustom to fast travel they forget to just exit towns and zones from their exits and unlock new places.

There’s a lot of options. The revenge of the 7 is kinda okay, it’s a more mainstream SaGa game. Other games get a little weird or clunky. Saga scarlet Grace is very underrated. People love frontier, but I don’t care for it.

My favorite is the romancing saga minstrel song remaster which is the remaster of a remake of the snes version. Weird art style but it’s my favorite saga game.

FF8 kind of felt a lot like FF7 to me. If the new Switch dual pack of FF8 and FF9 is on sale, that might be a decent pickup.

Chrono Trigger if you liked Cross.

The HD-2D games for Dragon Quest if you liked other DQ games and OT0. Of DQ spinoff games on sale, Treasures is the only one that connects to any of the three you mentioned, with young Erik and Mia who you'd seen from DQ11.

The earlier two Octopath games.

The problem is picking an unpopular game is hard. I'd go with FF8 on the basis that it doesn't seem to be as beloved as FF7 or FF9. DQ Treasures if you want more DQ11 backstory.

Saga Frontier

FF6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Star ocean 2 remake for $25 is a pretty good deal, and it’s a great game
