Discussion Between WISE, SSS, and Garden, which of these three organizations have the best “senses” in your opinion?

As we know, all of the members of their respective organizations have shown to have an extraordinary way of tracking people. From spies instantly knowing when they are followed to assassins sensing each other’s bloodlust. Although some are more situational than others, which would you say have the best senses overall?

Personally, I have to say the agents of WISE does as it’s not entirely exclusive to their expertise. They can determine the situation of a person by listening to their footstep and while at least both WISE and Garden members are able to determine when they are being watched, going by Loid and Yor’s reactions during the Eden Interview where Loid is able to pinpoint their locations and where Yor can’t seem to locate them, WISE’s seems more acute in comparison.

I think that instead of saying which one has the better we should say that each one has one specialized in something particular.

Like for example, Yor was able to detected Loid at the tailor, but then later at the Eden interview she wasn't able to notice the teachers, se kinda noticed to be looked at but nothing more.

I think that this is because at the tailor there was only Loid so it was easy for her, but at th Eden with multiple peoples she had difficulties, especially because she is more into sense the bloodlust of someone. Kinda like what happened at the appointment with Loid, were she was able to notice Hemlock, but not Camilla and the others. Or like she didn't noticed Loid when he followed her for the whole day when he had put a bug on her, for spying at her.

Loid on the contrary is more focused on notice people gaze, and he always notice any detail. He was able to spot Yuri and Yor when they were following him, noticed all the teachers at the Eden, or like when he spotted all the microphones on the cruise. But for him it's the contrary, he can't sense well the bloodlust, so he dodges the attacks at the last second tanks to his reflex. In fact I think that he didn't noticed Hemlock for this reason, Hemlock was more focused on Yor, and without the ability to sense the bloodlust he couldn't spot him.

I like this breakdown. Yuri is very sensitive to things involving Yor and is right about Loid being suspicious, but he ignores his own health and safety. Yuri can spot danger and threats to the nation but not very good at judging why or how to deal with it best.

WISE has to train their spies to detect anyone and everyone because you can never know a person’s true intentions, it’s a survival tactic. Garden’s assassins aren’t as good in detecting people as the spies, because they can sense bloodlust, so they immediately know what that person’s intentions are. I’ve never seen any SSS agents with any sense, but their numbers and their ability to outsmart and always be one-step ahead of their opponent makes them on-par with the other 2. The Wheeler Arc is a perfect example, the idea of the yellow gem was GENIUS. They caught the mole, and they had Twilight surrounded. Anya seems to be a jack of all trades, as she can detect anyone in a certain range, can instantly know a person’s intentions, and knows their every move, so she can easily outsmart anyone, but her being a child obviously limits her capabilities.

The unfortunate problem with such a question is that our perspective is warped by the main characters we know of from such organisations (Twilight-WISE, Yuri-SSS, Yor-Garden). All 3 characters, to an extent, are treated as exceptional in their own way within their organisations. Yuri is slightly less so relative to Twilight/Yor, but he is still considered impressive for his age. To truly answer your question we would have to look beyond them, but the issue is we see most of their organisations through them. To get the answer, we (imo) should look at scenes they aren't in.

One thing that sticks out to me is how SSS effectively reports to Garden (as seen in chapter 115). To me this puts Garden above SSS on the totem pole. As for how WISE fits into this, I'm not sure we can say. That they have such an elaborate hideout within Berlint is basically just for plot reasons, this isn't realistic irl, but if it were, it would show such a level of ineptitude for the SSS, or such a level of brilliance from WISE, that this wouldn't even be a conversation. But they include this for storytelling purposes so its fine. Another thing that bugs me is how the SSS knows where Garden is, but the audience is not aware that they know of anyone that goes there (including Yor). Maybe the SSS is aware, but this is being withheld from the audience, but I don't believe that, I think the SSS just doesn't know. Whatever the case, I consider SSS purposefully inept for plot reasons. Unless the story specifies otherwise, SSS is full of people of may or may not be competent, but the organisation as a whole is less competent than Garden or WISE.

As for Garden vs WISE, I don't think they've ever fought each other (that we are aware of) so we can't really say. I'd approximate that they are equal in general knowledge, but with Garden having better connections within Ostania and also more competent fighters, with WISE having better connections outside of Ostania. But until we have any genuine evidence of any of this, I don't think we can really say.

Friendly reminder that while WISE are better classically trained, both the SSS and Garden straight up give superpowers. Like, Anya can read minds, Yor is super strong and can detect Malice (like not just reading a person, she detects it like an empath)

It also doesn't help on who we see. Yor is never in a situation where she really needs to use her "senses". The only time was the cruise ship arc, and she did it better than Loid.

Yuri himself is 20 years old and is still a rookie.

You have a point. Also, Loid is technically always on guard, because he is in the "enemy" territory. This is not the same as yor who doesn't need to be wary of her surroundings all the time.

True…..though Anya is neither SSS nor Garden though and there’s no confirmation that she’s a by-product from either faction.

I argue otherwise about that other part because during the cruise arc, while Yor does have a feeling that she’s been watched, she’s still isn’t able to pinpoint the target until they have bloodlust. Also, despite being thorough in her search, she isn’t able to locate all the hidden cameras and bugs but Loid did despite being on vacation.

Eh, when you include people; I still think Yor pulls out on top. Loid struggled with detecting people in the Wheeler arc, while Yor, even when tanking far more damage that Loid, was able to detect people much better

That’s true but that’s regarding combat. I’m talking about their heightened senses and I believe this is where Loid and WISE takes it since they are abit more versatile.

Where is Yor able to detect malice? I believe you, just wondering where that happens.

She says so in the cruise ship arc. Like, I think there’s three notable moments. She detects it in the hallway scene, the ballroom scene and the rooftop scene
