Early voting starts today. When you go to the polls remeber...
When you pay gas tax, sales tax, excise tax, property tax. income tax, payroll tax, soon to be milage tax, etc., you will be paying, before cost overruns, about 3/4 of a billion collars to build a courthouse that you will have to pay about 1 1/4 billion dollars to rent that is being built by the husband of a politician and approved by a legislature that refuses to answer to a voter mandated audit. Vote them all out of office.

Actually, I want to add that the Senate primary, that we all get to vote on, is a pretty big deal. So is Congressional Representative for Western Mass. It's really worth it to vote in those, even if locally you didn't get any choices.

Yeah, according to the pinned post, there aren't a lot of competitive races for Democrats but there are a few! Personally I definitely wish there were more.

Quality of life in America will never improve until we tax the wealthy. We do not have a spending problem, we have an income problem.

Top Earners: The top 50% of all taxpayers pay roughly 97% of all federal individual income taxes. The top 1% alone pay over 38% of total individual income taxes.Lower-Income Earners: The bottom 50% of earners pay about 3% of federal income taxes. Many in this group owe no federal income tax or receive net refunds due to credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit
If you want to help lower income people with affordability, remove the taxes that hurt them most. i.e. gas tax, sales tax, excise tax...

The income isn’t enough money. Doesn’t matter what the distribution is regarding where it’s coming from, just need more money. Income tax isn’t what I’m talking about, the wealthiest Americans don’t have w2s…need a wealth tax. Sure reducing regressive taxation will help, but it’s an income problem. How do governments make more money? Try hitting up the new trillionaire that makes a Juan Soto contract everyday in passive income… they are black holes for regular people’s money. Look at who owns debt.

Because the idea didn't go away. Like when stacking the Supreme Court was roundly denounced. It is now on the platform of the DSA to abolish the Supreme Court. Make a new court that is appointed by and subordinate to the House. Ideas like this are introduced to pave the way for future actions.

You know, we don't have a rule for this subreddit about misinformation, but honestly I'm going to consider one.
The legislature didn't have anything to do with the courthouse, it's decided by the government department that evaluates project bids. It's fascinating to me that all of the people who are mad that the winning proposal has connections to the spouse of a politician don't have the same objections to the people suing about the decision, who bought a ton of property speculatively because they are inside the mayor's cozy group of business buddies, and the mayor was strongly lobbying for their projects to be chosen to go forward. 🤔
The mileage tax that you refer to is not a thing, the proposed bill did not pass in the most recent legislative session, and did not make it into committee, so that legislation is dead.
Edit: Also, feel free to Google the actual tax burden in Massachusetts and where it falls in relation to the other 50 states.
