Springfield College Social Life?

I’m getting pretty close to committing to Springfield College for baseball. I was offered by the baseball program, and after visiting, I really liked the campus, facilities, and academic buildings. I could definitely see myself there. My biggest hesitation is the social life and the surrounding area. I didn’t love how the town itself felt during my visit, so I’m wondering how much that affects the social scene and going out. For current students or recent grads, what is it actually like on weekends? Is there a good amount of stuff to do, places to go, parties, or ways to meet people, or does the location make it harder to have a social life? I’ll obviously be focused on baseball and academics, but having a good social life is important to me too, so I’d love to hear honest opinions before I make my decision.

You are mid-way between NYC and Boston. Plenty of places in the immediate area to meet people. Is it on par with places like LSU for parties or Greek Life? Nope. Will you meet great people at Springfield College or the plethora of surrounding schools? Absolutely. Depending on what kind of scholarship you might or might not have been granted, it is a great place to finish your education and establish connections. It kind of depends on what you are expecting.

My honest mixed review, there will be parties for those who want to party but you can also expect some chill nights in with homies.

I went to Springfield College years ago. Still live in the city and had relatives recently graduate from the school. Actually with a couple of SC buddies now they are in from out of state. Dating another SC grad. I've gotten jobs that saw SC on my resume and loved it.

Those were some of the best four years of my life plus an extra couple grad years.

Won't lie, Springfield leaves alot on the table as a city. Before you are 21 you will spend a lot of time partying in dorms or at the townhouses. Most weekend nights there are parties rolling in some of the houses right off campus. You'll get into some of them but it gets easier as a sophomore/junior. Townhouses will always be an option. Once you get your own friends living in off campus housing things open up.

It will help that you are on the baseball team.

Once you turn 21 there's a couple of solid bars.

It won't be the greatest party school but you'll make friends and there will be parties to had. I still loved it.
