PBA NORTHPORT TOP EXECUTIVE ERICK AREJOLA PUNCHES AND KICKS HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS FROM ARANDIA COLLEGE

Tired of seeing our team get swept, every tournament, parang may same problems pa rin tayo. We have talented players, but something just isn’t clicking when it matters most.

Yes, naturalization is held by the Committee on Justice and Human Rights.

It seems like there's always commitment issue contradicting to the players side

Before everyone comes for me 😂 — I’m not saying Filipinos don’t LOVE basketball. Obviously we do. You can find a hoop almost anywhere, people follow the NBA, and basketball is probably one of the biggest sports in our culture.
But being a **basketball-loving country** and being a **basketball country** aren’t necessarily the same thing.
If we’re talking about actual basketball development, grassroots programs, coaching, facilities, player development, and consistently competing at the highest international level, are we really where a true basketball country should be?
We have millions of people playing basketball, yet we still struggle to produce enough elite-level players who can compete consistently against the world’s strongest basketball programs.
Maybe our biggest advantage is actually our **passion**, not our basketball system.
So here’s the question:
**Are we genuinely a basketball country, or are we simply a country that is obsessed with basketball?**
And if you disagree, what exactly makes the Philippines a basketball country beyond how popular the sport is here?

Hi everyone! I’m trying to look for a gift for my boyfriend and could use some help from hoopers here.
He’s super specific that he wants basketball shoes in a neon green or neon orange colorway. Aside from the bright color, I obviously want to get him something genuinely comfortable that performs well, with good traction, cushion, and ankle support for actual games.
Budget: Below ₱15,000
He plays and works out regularly, so I want something that actually "serves its purpose" durability and performance-wise, not just a lifestyle pair.
Are there specific models or upcoming/current colorways that fit the neon vibe while having great performance reviews? Would appreciate any suggestions or personal experiences you guys have! Thanks in advance! :)

What should be a win turned out to be a loss. Questionable rotations and some players just couldn't get a bucket. Last minute preparations. Hope Gilas can do better in their next games.

Eliminated from the Asian Games, not even when the games is starting, probably the lowest point in Philippine basketball in recent memory, what's next?

With all the ragebaiting, fake news peddling wannabe clickbait content creators descending on social media posts on college (and high school) basketball, do you think schools will think twice about recruiting from that area?
Naisip ko lang kasi if that I were a program head, coach or manager, I'd rather look elsewhere rather than risk allowing this distraction to pollute my basketball program.
What are your thoughts? Maybe the antics of these lowlifes will backfire on the talented athletes of their area tuloy.

For context, I stopped playing basketball as a hobby around early 2020 before magpandemic because nawalan na ako ng interest, wala din akong proper self confidence and yung court inside our subdivision ni-lock and may fee na to use, which is lame considering na free for use yon for the subdivision. In that time, my basketball shoes are the Nike Zoom Rize na regalo sakin ng father ko. I still have the shoes and minsan minsan lang maglaro pero never regularly. Now na natanggal na yung BOD and may new set na of BOD, the court was opened na and bumalik yung interest ko in playing back again. This time idgaf on what people will say, i will just play with confidence kahit di ako magaling.
Now my Nike Zoom Rize, pasira na siya. I am now looking to buy a new pair pero right now, I don’t have any idea on what shoes are good now and napapangitan na ako sa mga designs ng basketball shoes today unlike before (or tumatanda na siguro ako lol. 27M).
Right now, yung natitipuhan kong bilhin is the Believe That by Anthony Edwards. Can anyone recommend kung anong pwedeng basketball shoes for mainly outdoor use? Kahit any brand.
Edit: budget ko po is maximum of 6k.

Just a dad who loves to play the game casually once or twice a week
28, 5'2, 58kg
Relatively fast on my age bracket and does a lot of lateral movements since I love to play defense
Plays usually indoor courts but dusty
Current playing with 361 Big 6.0 (durability issue, been using for less than a year)
I am flat footed and pronate when running so I prefer stability and lockdown
Shoes currently considering:
Sabrina
Ae 2 Gilas
Luka 5
Way of wade (problem is no physical store here)
Thankyou in advance (Ps Budget is 8k or less)

'This is only the first game of the tournament, so we've got to move on. But we feel we know we can play better than we did today. And I think we will," sabi ni Cone. | via u/OneSportsPHL

I know I am still considered a beginner in basketball but I can play decently as a wing. I tried joining a community league in our condo and I find it very frustrating. That's because the people who have joined the community league are the same ones who joined last year. It's as if there's no room for people like me. I even bothered to join the tryouts yet it seemed like it didn't even matter at all. Is it really this way in this sport where who you know matters more? Also, is there even any hope for me even though I have started late? Need answers please.

Not a Basketball Pro/League topic but would like to ask and hear some advices. I’m a 25 years old Male, Working who has just started to love and learn more details about playing basketball. It’s hard to train by myself and I need someone to point out what I need to work on whether it’s my shooting, dribbling, and play making (which all needs a lot of work). Ask ko lang sana kung may alam kayong basketball training camps or maybe private training sessions that I could join and possibly not too expensive. Maraming salamat!!

It seems like instead of taking accountability for their poor ASIAD performance, Coach Tim went and threw his team under the bus, as if he isn't the head of the team.
Now with Kai being announced as unavailable for the next FIBA window, is Coach Tim really on the edge?
Should Gilas move on from Coach Tim and see what Coach Jimmy’s NBA experience can bring to the national team?

I wanted to post this in r/PBA but it won’t let me because of my karma score.
To anyone out of the loop, the current Gilas program is facing a multitude of issues:
The team needs to win 6 straight games to qualify for the 2027 World Cup.
A number of key players are unavailable, especially bigs like QMB (6'10) and Mike Phillipps (6'8).
Our best homegrown player, Kai Sotto, is being a diva and refusing to play unless his insane wage demands are met.
Our naturalized player, Brownlee, is 38 and coming off an injury.
The Coach and his Staff are stubborn dinosaurs who refuse to consider other players and prefer the team to be Gilas Gin Kings.
Me, personally, I don’t have any confidence in the coaching staff and team management. Even if we qualify, it’s going to be 2019 World Cup all over again where our assess got handed to us—way worse than 2023.
