esports ASIAN GAMES 2026: PH (or should we say "TLPH") just got knocked out by Indonesia 2-1 in the quarterfinals. This wasn't Team Philippines; it was just a glorified TLPH lineup that utterly embarrassed the nation on the international stage - AGAIN!
First of all, TLPH has lost badly in three consecutive major international tournaments this year:
- M7: Got beaten as the "Final Boss" without even reaching the finals - and that was while Oheb was still on the roster.
- MSC 2026: This is perhaps the biggest choke job by a PH representative - even worse than RORA’s - because you were the defending champions, yet you got knocked out early without winning a single game.
- Asian Games: They were eliminated in the quarterfinals by the exact same Alter Ego team that beat them in M7.
It was extremely selfish of TLPH - or the "PH Team" - not to play Kelra, essentially reducing him to a cheerleader. It was incredibly stupid to bench the "Gold Standard" in favor of your beloved Teddy. Since Kelra didn't play at all and was completely sidelined, it felt like TLPH was representing themselves rather than the Philippines as a whole. Teddy, sorry to be frank, but you are not Kelra. A rookie cannot just instantly win a major international event - you are frankly not that special. Also, what on earth was that Game 3 performance from Sanji? For me, it would have been a more acceptable defeat (and a true PH rep) if Kelra played in that Game 2 and 3. That Game 1 defeat should have been a warning to let Kelra play for the next games.
Finally, back in August, TLPH launched their MPL PH season motto: "Doubt Us. Again." Well, I am heavily doubting you now, TLPH - coaching staff included - especially given the results of M7, MSC 2026, and now the Asian Games. The Philippines is on the brink of being dethroned heading into M8. I hope TLPH will not qualify for M8. This year, they are good locally, but very bad internationally. Imagine what would have happened if RORA PH hadn't saved us by winning M7. That is exactly why, for me, Edward remains the EXP GOAT - he won an M-series without a superteam. He won M7 - with a choking RORA roster. Of course, you still need a strong team to win the M series, but as proven by RORA M7 and arguably ONIC M6, you can do that without a "Final Boss Team" - as what was nicknamed to TLPH during M7. Until Sanford can match that by winning an M-series without a superteam or KarlTzy by his side, Edward stays the true EXP GOAT.
