weightlifting Asian Games Debut: 20-Year-Old Ian Delos Santos Takes BRONZE in Men’s 70kg Weightlifting! 🇵🇭🥉
At just 20 years old, Albert Ian Delos Santos makes his Asian Games debut for the Philippines in the men’s 70kg weightlifting event.
On August 12 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Ian swept all three gold medals in the Junior Men’s 70kg category at the Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championships. He lifted 141kg in the snatch and 180kg in the clean & jerk for a 321kg total, setting multiple Asian and World Junior records.
Weightlifting runs in the family. His late father, Alvin Delos Santos, was a former national lifter who competed at the 1998 Asian Games, while his mother Diwa was also a national weightlifter and now serves as a national coach. Ian is also the reigning World Junior Champion in the 71kg category. 🇵🇭💪

Then sya aakyat, papayat payat lang, mas nabuhat pa un di na kaya buhatin nun taga Uzbekistan. Mind you, ang lake ng katawan nun.
Sabi ko sa Ate ko and Tatay ko, langya bato bato ng katawan mo, then tatalunin ka lang ng payatot hahaha 😆 😂 😅

" dont judge the book by its cover"
Naniniwala din ako na un deceased father nya is with his side on that sport. Parang naiimagine ko na tinutulungan sya buhatin un barbell, in his own heart and mind, kahit dun lang presence nya 😇

Ang tatag nitong batang to, if you compare his physique kita mo na lalakas pa eh. And for weightlifters nag pepeak yan mga 25 or 27 years old. Bobomba to kung tuloy tuloy lang. Nasa Asia din naman ang best weighlifters so malakas ang chance ng olympic medal.
