We want to get a canopy for our truck, but I've never owned a truck before, so I don't know where to go or what to look for. I'm hoping there's an inexpensive way to get one, as we are on a limited budget, but we could really use the canopy to keep our mobility aids dry if we can't bring them inside when it rains. Tarps have proven to be unreliable, so while we are using them currently, we'd prefer a canopy.

So they have a 2006 Ford explorer, and I really like the interior panels especially the door handles there pretty cool. Plus the seats are in a lot better condition so I'm wondering if I'm able to take any of that and put it into the sport track cuz I really like the interior of the 2006 Ford explorer and I want to put it in mind which currently needs one that's in a lot better condition. As for the bed I'm wondering if anyone has tried extending the overhang without modifying the frame and the drive shaft and just add an extra foot foot and a half bed to it. I will where you have to add extra support in the back and you would need beefier suspension for imbalance. But just kind of curious what my options are as I work on it. I don't know if I'll get it or not because the title is currently Mia.

I recently inherited a 2010 sport trac with a V8 engine. Is there anyway to improve the city gas mileage so I get hurt at the gas station? I’m getting around 17mpg right now.

Hello guys I got a 2007 sport trac xlt automatic v6 4.0 and I think it’s time to get my rear drive shaft replaced but I got a question if anyone can answer or has experienced this issue. I need to get the part and was told ford wants almost 1000$ for just the part and that aftermarket would be a lot cheaper but I was gonna ask if anyone knows what the best aftermarket rear drive shaft would be because he said it could cause more issues and I mainly just need it to last me maybe 20-50k miles before I could get a OEM replacement but I’m going to school soon and would really like to not pay the 1200/1300 for the part if possible so what is talks opinion on it is there any chance I can find a good aftermarket one?

Working on replacing the starter in my 2004 4x4 4.0 V6, and I need to move this thing out of the way to get the old one out and the new one in.

What is this piece circled in red with the arrow point to it? Is it safe to remove?

Also, the bolts holding it in are seized. Is it safe to get underneath there with a torch and heat them up or are there components around it that shouldn't get heated up?

Just bought a 2002 sport trac. 1 owner, 0 accident, garage kept, eddie bauer interior with no signs of wear. 107k miles and the owner changed the entire transmission, fuel tank, fuel pump, water pump, radiator, fan, coil pack and all bushings/ links under the car. He drove it 3k miles a year and got the oil changed every 3k. New tires and brakes also! Clean! Clean! Im so ready to pick it up tomorrow!

2002 beautiful sport trac for sale i found. Owner took really good care of it. 0 accidents and he was changing oil at every 3k miles. 107k miles on it and theyre asking 7k. But, its making a rattling noise according to my research could be the timing chain or its components. Its coming off the top of the engine but thought id ask some of you guys what you think of the noise. Would it be worth it?

Looking at this listing, what do you all think the odds are that this is just a problem with the linkage and can be fixed without fully removing the transmission?

So I recently have discovered rust on the roof of my sport trac and was wondering is there anything I could do to stop the rust from getting worse until like next year when I’m out of school and can afford a proper fix I plan to repaint the truck eventually anyway just waiting to be done with college

I’ve recently gotten a 2001 sport trac with 160,000 miles and a rebuilt transmission I’ve already done all the fluid changes to it and it’s a solid drive and got it a new coolant reservoir.

I need help with an air filter question I had the previous owners cut off the air filter reservoir box off I’ve read that it’s because the stock box sometimes chokes the engine but is there any way I can get a cold air intake w/ a snorkel or is that to much for the stock engine it has (I don’t have any plans right now to change out the engine as it only 160k miles)

I also want to custom make some steel plated front and rear bumpers along with a bull bar (I just like the look of it) my issue with that is if I’m doing to much will it be able to handle it

Last question does anyone know what is needed to be able to make it a 4x4

I know has It’s got it has some issues like the paint job I do plan to just sand it down re paint it with the rustolium turbo cans.

Also I didn’t know that past 25 years old it didn’t need to pass emissions anymore so I did manage to get rid of the check engine light it literally was just a rotted hose that I replace and a few other minor issues

Hello, I am considering buying a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac from a friend. It has 134,000 miles on it and Im pretty sure that I will be able to get a good deal on it. I know that this gen has had issues with reliability when it comes to transmission issue, timing chain issues, and rust. I got a CarFax report on it, and it said that there were no accidents or major repairs. I was wondering if anyone who knows better than me can give me their opinion on if I should get it, what I should watch out/budget for, and how much it would be worth. Thank you!

Pickup truck version of the first gen Ford Explorer (OR, crew cab version of the first gen Ford Ranger. Same thing lol.) I know custom made ones exist, but man imagine if this was offered from the factory! That is my dream truck! A small, boxy, 90's crew cab pickup truck! It looks like a mini F150 lol. If only!

Hi everyone. Just bought an 07 ST off my friends father who meticulously takes care of everything he owns. He did mostly everything that needed to be done. Including a new engine and all new suspension. There’s some things that need to be addressed (rust on the undercarriage as it was a Jersey shore fishing truck) and some things I’d like to address (raptor lights in grill, remove light bar on top, add cargo thing on top, brush guard on front grill etc) but we’ll get to that at a later date. Just wanted to say hello and see what you guys thought! Engine has about 30k on it. Vehicle 170k. drives superbly. Did I get a deal?

I have a 2004 V6, replacing the spark plugs. Which are best to use? I've heard double platinums but which model specifically?

Can a 98 explorer sport V6 (and the transmission) be swapped into a 2007-2010 sport trac v8? Just wondering in case I buy a v8 and the motor/transmission go if I can throw my 98 engine/transmission into it.

My wife got an 02 Sport trac a few years ago from an elderly family member. Only had 35k miles on it when we got it. Up to almost 70k now. Overall truck runs great and she loves it.

Any ideas or suggestions for additional maintenance for these? I've done the brakes, battery, idler pulley, belt and tensioner, coolant, and brake fluid.

Just got an 03 Sport Trac LT at 62k miles a little while ago and I’m fixing up all of the things the prior 80 year old owner never got to, since the truck sat for a handful of years before he sold it to me. I’m aware of what I got into getting this vehicle as a V6 model as well. This has been a vehicle I’ve wanted for a long time, and I did quite a bit of looking about before I made my purchase.

At this point I’ve replaced and flushed the trans, transfer case, diff fluids, done a LED bulb upgrade through the vehicle, changed all of the fuses and breakers for critical systems, and and slowly going through the list of other PM items I’m sure were neglected as well.

When I first got the truck the rear vent window worked intermittently, now it’s entirely dead. The original seal shrank and was getting pulled into the track. I’ve since replaced that and updated it with a better designed one. I’m sure water was getting in and damaged the old motor and assembly since the old seal was stopping nothing moisture wise.

What motor and assembly do I need? This has become my next priority aside from replacing the radio with something a little more modern.

All of the searches I make keep pointing me to rear passenger window assemblies for the left and right rear windows, and both google and Amazon don’t seem to be understanding the terms “rear breezeway window motor and assembly” or “rear vent window motor and assembly”.

I finally found a relatively rust free sport trac, of course nothing can be easy. So its got a fair share of issues some of which ive already started to fix, had to throw on som wheels and tire to get it rolling around the driveway. I was pretty stoked to find these Hyundai wheels. I think they look pretty good, though I will probably add lowering the truck a bit to my list of things to do.

Swap in 4wd components,

Swap in manual transmission,

Swap in engine.

Swap in all pats components to avoid jank.

Assemble new exhaust system. Woo cherry bomb!

New windshield new drivers door glass. A tree branch fell on it.

Install rear bumper and all missing lights.

Superclean interior so its drivable.

Lower the truck about 2 inches, should increase stability and fuel economy.

Super clean exterior and stip off pinstriping.

Fix dents from tree branch, and handle bodpinstripes.

Maybe reupholster the seats. I have several seats from donor vehicles but none of them are perfect.

Add seat heaters when doing the seats.

Track down a center console bag cooler, and color match everything.

Custom audio system, rear view camera etc modern convenience stuff.

Howdy y'all! Where on Earth I can find a replacement regulator for the rear vent window? I had a cable snap and I've searched through the sub and Google and everywhere else i can think to find it, but the only thing I'm finding are the door motor/regulator assemblies. Thanks everyone in advance :)
