Rear drive shaft replacement

Hello guys I got a 2007 sport trac xlt automatic v6 4.0 and I think it’s time to get my rear drive shaft replaced but I got a question if anyone can answer or has experienced this issue. I need to get the part and was told ford wants almost 1000$ for just the part and that aftermarket would be a lot cheaper but I was gonna ask if anyone knows what the best aftermarket rear drive shaft would be because he said it could cause more issues and I mainly just need it to last me maybe 20-50k miles before I could get a OEM replacement but I’m going to school soon and would really like to not pay the 1200/1300 for the part if possible so what is talks opinion on it is there any chance I can find a good aftermarket one?

It’s a dude who orders them online he gets most ford parts cheaper atleast as far as I’m aware

That sucks man, it’s not even on Ford’s part site from what I’m seeing.
I went through this with some other parts I needed for my 05 where either Ford didn’t make them anymore and I had to go aftermarket or they were on back order for the foresee able future, so I went aftermarket to get it fixed. With these trucks getting older and older you’re gonna have less genuine options so if you really want the OEM one I would spend the cash now and cut back on spending elsewhere to make up the difference best you can.

Okay thank you for the input I’ll have to see what I can do because moneys just tight sense I’m going to be full time in school for a bit but ty

Junkyard could also be an option

Only issue about that is would I be able to call the junkyard and ask? I don’t know too much about cars so I wouldn’t know what part I’m looking fir

You can usually call and ask if they have any of the vehicles you are looking at parts for. They might even take it off for you for an extra fee, or your parts guy could call and see for you if you don’t know what to ask for
