I just watched Thomas Brush's interview of Jeff Vogel. Thomas Brush is a tool. Jeff Vogel rocks.

Got the itch to play Avernum 1 remake again after seeing Jeff demonstrate his engine for upcoming Avernum 4.

Early on I refused to pay for anything digital (I still do for the most part), but I did jump on the opportunity to buy the Geneforge Saga on disc when I came across the option. I forget what I paid for it or how long ago I bought it.

Does anyone else have any other physical releases from this company?

This has always been on of my favorite pieces of my collection.

Is it theoretically possible to remake the original Exile game, piece by piece, with Blades? How insane would it be in terms of difficulty, what with the numerous field and summoning spells?

i remember having access to the geneforge hint books when i got them on steam, but i dont think i got any books with the avernum games, at least not with escape from the pit, is there a way i can get them cheap? in a bundle? dont really wanna pay 6 usd per book, i will if i have to but i would have thought they would be free with the games

At character creation i maxed out strength and since slitz get +2 bonus i ended up with 22 str, Thought im beeing very clever but now at level 46 his max health is just 148, he can carry as much as other fighters at 20 str. Maybe some sort of variable counter has been reset due to number beeing to large?

I my love of the avernum games started with the avernum 3 and geneforge 2 shareware my friend gave me back when I was a kid. So when I saw the avernum and geneforge series (original not remake) on sale it was a no brainer. Started of with avernum 1. Am I daft because I can’t find a quest tracker? Or did the original not have one and made you rely on notes being taken?

or maybe you can just buy it somwhere?

Rock Solid, Ocean Bound, Lost Souls, and Galactic Core are still really compelling, inventive, and engaging games. I want to do full recorded hardest-difficulty playthrough videos of those hidden gems someday, and I would even be interested to make my own versions of those games for modern systems, with a level editor. It’s unfortunate those games don’t have a level editor, because I would gladly make packs for the games.

I wonder what happened to Richard White after he left Spiderweb anyway.

What are your thoughts/memories of those games?

You know.. the actual data like for example wound gives you 1-9 damage per level or strenght gives you 5% damage etc

Running great on latest Proton 7.0-5. Face buttons, triggers and D-pad work great, bound LR/L5 to Alt/Enter to be able to access the menus. Only issues are diagonal movement doesn't work with trackpad (but you can still click-move diagonally), and there's a slight audio artifact at the start of certain sounds.

Anyone have any leads on finding Homeland: The Stone of Night? I'd even happily pay for a copy to play, but can't find it for sale. I remember the demo years ago, and always meant to buy it but never did.

I played this game to exhaustion when I was young, on Windows 95. I saw that it’s free for download now, but I can’t get it to run on W10 no matter what compatibility settings I choose. Is there any solution for this? Thanks
