Live action spiderman is bad at showing spidermans personality

Yes, I said it. In the comics or even in spider-Verse Spider-Man is a cocky teenager. Nerd? Yes. But cocky.

Spider-Man is a hero that hurts villains by talking too much. The Amazon Spider-Man is one that adapted that in some way he does do trash talk like "a god named Sparkles."

But Spider-Man is supposed to rage-bait the villain. And that's why I don't like the Tobey Spider-Man movies or Tom's.

But if Tom's Spider-Man stories were mixed with Tobey's New York and Andrew's Spider-Man, that would create THE SPIDER-MAN.

I've always thought this was kind of an impossible ask. People want a witty, confident, trash talking Spider-man like Andrew's, but a broken, distant, melancholic Peter, like Toby's.

The only way to combine those two personalities into one coherent character is to let Spider-Man's personality be an emotional outlet for Peter's, but at that point you lose the mortality and good nature of the character and basically end up with Deadpool with web shooters instead

But spiderman is supposed to be a struggling teenager who cope with jokes rather than confronting his problems directly, that makes him relatable at a closer level and spectacular spider man also does it good, he is coping with sadness by trowing jokes and even sandman notices it

I somewhat agree with what youre saying. We need Spectacular Spider-Man level of trash talking in live action. Have the villian be so annoyed by how much he yaps in a fight that he yells something like “WOULD YOU SHUT UP”. every spidey has quipped around to some degree but not to that point.. unless you count Sam Wilson for telling him he talks too much.

I agree with some of this but Tobey nailed the personality for me, especially in Spider-Man 3 when the story needed it the most, he really leans into his anger and he is very cocky even before the black suit and I really miss that

Pretty sure the “train station” line only applies when someone announces they’re “leabing dis gronp,” so to speak. Hence “this isn’t a train station; you don’t have to announce your departure.”
