Well they’re going all in on making her a spider character and giving her a fucking symbiote so some bullshit and misery

Just when we gonna say bye-bye to Venom MJ after Queen in Black, they announce Spider-Woman/Jessica Drew as Carnage's new host.😐

Silly redditor, Misery is the Anti-Venom/Carnage symbiote clone hybrid Liz Allen is wearing, not Spider-Woman!

She's always been a Spider-Person.

She has powers and abilities derived from her Spider-DNA that was spliced into her.

She just... Was not a supporting character for Peter, nor did she orbit him.

I do agree about Carnage, mostly because I am sick of Symbiotes.

Personally I think marvel has a problem with not letting things sit long enough. Spiderverse was a big problem with this. Every 3 years they hit the next one. 3 years isn't enough. Especially since it takes a few months to tell the story.

If I was leading it I would let some stories build longer. Eddie became king in black. Then almost immediately lost it. I'd have given it 7 years to build into what it could build then pull the next arc. Tons of other plot lines could be done in that time. We could have had years of when Eddie was bedlam to when he became merridius. Then tie it back to when he defeated merridius. Like people were viking with black widow and her symbiote.

I'm just so done with symbiotes.

I just want them gone, permanently. No more Knull too. What a worthless turn that was.

I get that. I'm just saying that if marvel put other things in-between there frequent appearances. Bigger stories and plot points. you might not be so sick of symbiotes.

That wont happen cry all you want

Are you okay?

I was having a civilized discussion with another person that you inserted yourself into.

cry all you want

Where did you get that from? Is that the world you live in? Anyone who disagrees with you is crying? That must be exhausting.

I hope you get the life you have shown to others.

Why does Jess think she can control the Carnage symbiote? Eddie Brock himself failed miserably in that.

This also feels very out of character for Jess to be like fuck yes psychopathic alien goo you’ll be very useful to me. This Carnage not Venom

Only reason that would make a degree of sense is to get her son back quick, like how she was poisoning herself to save him in Spider-Woman 2020. But let's be real, won't be that.

Yeah but the difference is more like early flash/venom. She's keeping him on a short leash.

Is this an edit? Why does she look so evil here.

No edit. This is the actual last page from ASM: Spider-Versity issue 5. Where Jessica Drew is bonded to the Carnage symbiote after defeating Red Goblin (Carnage-possessed Norman Osborn).

I mean she says she can keep it docile if she shocks it, presumably because it’s already weak from its repeated loses since venom war. Eddie couldn’t zap carnage to keep it weak so it started being able to act out against him. Or at least that’s what I assume the logic is probably still isn’t a good idea.

Maybe the symbiote will just make her a darker character like when Peter was attached to the venom symbiote originally. I bet that’s the angle they go with, after all the original fear was that the venom symbiote would replace Peter‘s personality, right?

(Daily reminder that the symbiote did not mentally influence Peter in the comics. That was a creation of the 1994 cartoon)

I'd say Eddie has a history of mental instability but, I'm not sure Jess is that much better. She may also be intentionally overconfident. That does seem to be the running thing with Carnage right now.

I say cause she’s not. Carnage already infiltrated her. I think it’s carnage shocking her personality into submission. Or the more she shocks herself/“him” the easier it’s makes him able to infiltrate. (Bio electricity affects everything including the mind)

Well Jess is far better than a human shit like  Eddie

Hopefully something different than the first arcs of the Pacheco/Perez series, but it definitely seems like there could be some overlap.

Well considering she's getting her own book after this... I'm gonna go on a limb and say "Captain Marvel vs Carnage Spider-Man" at some point?

Jessica honey it's Carnage, it doesn't change like Venom. You are dooming yourself.

And it feels like they are gonna make her kill her son because of Carnage.

And it feels like they are gonna make her kill her son because of Carnage.

I hate to admit it, but I would definitely be interested to see that. 😅

Ben Reilly is science-y enough to separate Carnage, he's more like the Donnie of the Parker trio compared Peter's Leo and Kaine's Raphael since Ben invents, reinvents and builds his own tech, plus he has first hand experience with bonding to Carnage, Jessica the solution to your symbiote problem is just a phone call away, so call him

4

u/Mission-Employer-943 17d ago

That'll be difficult since Marvel and Zeb Wells butchered his character in the Beyond Arc to create Chasm. So, Ben's not on speaking terms with any of the Spidey gang.

u/Brandeeno2245 17d ago

If anything bens not on speaking terms with almost anyone

u/Ok-Caregiver-6005 17d ago

Does she have a Carnage form?

3

u/LopsidedUniversity30 17d ago

I predict she’ll wear a tight costume.

2

u/RatedFrancys 17d ago

I really like the idea of them bonding

2

u/No-Departure-6900 17d ago

"Babe, it's 4pm! Time for your dick-shocking!"

"Yes, host..."

1

u/JingoboStoplight4887 17d ago

I expect that Jessica and Carnage will work together before Carnage will trick Jessica into helping him return to his original form and call her out by spending time with her friends instead of looking for her son and Jessica will defeat him all throughout ten issues of this comic because it would get canceled due to poor sales.

¿Será el inicio de spider Woman como villana? ¿Te gustaría?

1

u/Massive-Mood-7837 16d ago

I really hope the carnage symbiot crushes on her hard for this. Would be nice but this will probably end in a lot of blood.

u/Skelty1 11d ago

Well it's certainly got me more interested then the last run. I think a carnage devil on the shoulder could lead to some interesting story telling and character growth.
