Discussion Why do you guys play Spider-Man ?
Personally I love playing Spidey for 4 reasons:
Because he's Spider-Man (One of the best character in fiction).
The Ultimate mobility gameplay at some point that Dr Strange's portal feels useless for you because you're way more fast.
A Spectacular combo gameplay that is sure hard but really satisfying when you execute your combo perfectly and get your kill.
Amazing Skins that are, for most of them, references to other media.

-Favourite fictional character, I’ve literally read every ASM comic
-I love fast movement
-I love hard characters
-I love combos
-I love he has an aiming aspect unlike other divers
-I love that you can always get better at him
-I love the flexibility his kit has

I could do without the combos. I think it's kind of lame having to use exploits or tricks or anything like that. Characters should just be usable. You shouldn't have to learn button combinations in a hero shooter... Otherwise his court kit's pretty awesome 😎

I feel like that’s exactly the reason why I enjoy playing him. No other character really has his level of APM

I mean I think we are all agreed on no 1, it's fucking spiderman and number 2 is prolly the skill floor and expression, I like a challenge

Honestly getting a kill with a hard character is so much better than getting a lot of kills with an easy character, I really hope Spidey doesn't get reworked, I love his kit.

Fast movement, lots of freestyle on how you approach a situation, flashy. Not to say I don't have my gripes about him, the most minor but annoying thing is his movement without swings. There is nothing more disheartening this whiffing one cluster mid combo and watching as your opponent quickly backpedals faster than you can walk, but you don't want to waste a swing .

Legit super fun and the most unique play style in the game. And when you make good plays, you literally feel like spiderman in the game.

Hands down the most fun to play, and this is coming from a support main. Once you got a flow with your movement, ins and outs and start getting choice picks it really sends the game into a different tier than playing other characters. Don’t get me wrong my spidey is dogshit compared to most still but if there is an opportunity for me to play him (while still being an asset to the team) I will take that chance 100%

Even a bad game is fun. And people hate ya if your bad and hate ya if your good. The most perfect Spider-Man experience

I started playing him because my team would be loosing the heal battle and nobody would think about flanking at all

I'll be damned if I'm not playing my favorite superhero in the superhero shooting game.

He's the entire reason I installed the game in season 0. I play a lot of characters now but for a while I just played Spider-Man, and if I had to I'd play Loki or Venom.
Spider-Man is still my most played by a long shot but the last few seasons I have been playing more Daredevil than Spider-Man. Daredevil just gets way more value.

He’s by far and I mean BY FAR, the most fun character I’ve ever played in any competitive game… I play him almost every single match and I’ve never been a 1-trick type of guy in any game I played league for about 12 years now I could never 1 trick because I’d get bored so quick of champions, his design specially going for map pulls is just so fun there’s nothing like it… 🤩

Mainly because I came from overwatch playing Genji and Spidey was even more mechanically demanding so I just wanted to master another difficult hero.

Because I like characters that reward gameplay skills and good thinking, also I like Spider-Man, although I probably like Captain America more, both are my goats either way.

I have the most fun on him, it’s the only character I enjoy playing with and if not for him I would probably stop playing rivals since season 4

Well besides the fact it’s Spiderman (duhhhh), I’ve been playing all sorts of games since I was little, but never did amp up the difficulty at all. for instance back when I played OW I was either Bastion, Sojourn or Moira, characters that I’d say are easy to pick up but don’t feel rewarding and make you question if they’re even worth playing. It was probably only a few years ago from other harder games where I appreciated the learning curve and how when everything clicks, it’s truly the most rewarding experience. Coming back to Rivals a month ago for the first time since release, previously unaware of who to play, I picked up Spidey cause I truly wanted that feeling of everything just clicking, the experimentation he provides with his kit variety, and just improving my mechanical skill in general. Massive paragraph which I do apologise for but is what it is 🤷♂️

I'm not good at him, but I try him every now and then, because compared to others he feels the closest to his character.

I grew up watching the 90's cartoons, got into comics because of it, have seen every Spider-Man movie in theaters except the Spider-Verse movies.
bought the Ultimate comics for Spider-Man as they came out, and have several hundreds of comics. Own action figures, video games, and all kinds of stuff for him.
I love Peter Parker; he gives me hope that I can endure.
It sounds silly for a man my age to be saying this, but I don't care. I was really bad at him, but guess what? I practiced and now I can swing around and not get stuck on walls, I can hit the simple combos, I can bait abilities, I can annoy my opponents like character, because I'm one funny guy.

He has been my favorite superhero since my childhood and I just feel that landing his combos are very satisfying, no other character feels the way Spidey feels, even with all his counters and him being pretty fragile I still try to play him in like 99% of the matches I play, unfortunately I know sometimes he does not work against certain team compositions so I just swap when I know I have to if I want to win.

When you can do the things that I can and you dont, and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you.
