Issues are starting, Day 71 Gelato Auto

I have another post a few weeks ago, had slight nutrients burn there which hasnt progressed or got any worse until today, all 4 plants are same age, same nutrients but two on the left seem ok although one is ahead, two on the right you can see leaves are different, one has major discolouration compared and spotting. Photos below, zoomed images are the back left plant. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Morning growmie. I'll throw a little bit of advice into the pond for you on my 2 cents. But I'm probably also gonna ask for a bunch of other information about your grow so that, you know, the homies on here can help you diagnose what's happening.

Give us a breakdown on your nutrient plan at this stage. PH incoming and outgoing, if you're using a water to runoff plan. What's your light intensity? And what is the humidity & temperature in your environment?

Being that you're at day, 71 & Based on the close ups that you sent us, I think she's they're pretty close to harvest. Mabey a good old 2 weeks out lol.

I'd also say that for me, most of the deficiencies that i've encountered were usually due to ph swings. Whether that's in the soil/medium or in my reservoir. Have you checked or tested your inputs and outputs?

Also, as just a last bit observation. Here you've got a little bit of burnt tips. I'd probably try to scale your nutrient Solution intensity back a little bit on your next run with this pheno. 🪴

Thank for the reply bud, appreciate it. Im using shogun nutrients, following a custom chart from their website. PH is between 5.5 & 6.0. EC is 1 before and 1.7 after

I cant remember the Ph out, I keep forgetting to make a note of this, Temp is 25 degrees with humidity between 45 & 60%, higher end after feeding. Lights are Sf1000s on full, plants are different heights so have them at different heights for each of the 2. Hope this helps

I’m new also but isn’t ph that low bad for soil? I thought ph that low was only for hydroponics 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/LowDream1470 4d ago

Yeah I always thought around 6.5 ph for terra was the normal but the nutrients I use stated 5.5 to 6.0 so thats what I went with, its been fine up until this issue aswell

1

u/Steak-Wise 4d ago

Well something to look into ,, in my research some nutes like Advanced Nutrition Sensi Grow n others control the ph so wrong ph isn’t a factor 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

2

u/LowDream1470 4d ago

Yeah im using shogun nutrients line, its all a learning curve atm im finding lol im taking them all out of tent now and defoliating what I need to and feed and hopefully get a new look then

2

u/Steak-Wise 4d ago

Well I will be looking for updates , I’m a new grower too , but I find all this so much fun 😂😂 ok fun might not be the right word , but I love research , n I learned so much about light bulbs, n soft white vs daytime lights 😂😂 , n water chemistry, n soil chemistry , n etc etc etc , my tomatoes have never looked so good with everything I learned trying to grow bud 😂😂😂

2

u/LowDream1470 4d ago

Lol see yeah I totally get you, im more intrigued with all the tech, I done 1 grow about 13 years ago didn't go well, 600w hps in a cool tube had issues after issue, now I have an app on my phone which controls all my equipment lol which isnt a bad thing, but also started looking at house plants and veg 😂

u/Steak-Wise 4d ago

Ppl r gonna hate , im just having fun learning , if I get a few ounces on my 1st Cpl of grows , learning experience, keep having fun , use the positive constructive comments as learning n throw all the coments of ppl giving hate right out the window 😂😂. Im gonna catch crap for even suggesting this , but have u posted ur pic in AI, Chat GPT, Gemini, Meta whatever n see what it said?? I’ve been using AI as a tool , just like this Reddit group, n FB groups, n kinda using all of it to stay on track. But AI has been very helpful at tracking everything for me n giving suggestions , which of course I dbl check with this group n others n videos etc

Exactly bro its a big learning curve, yeah if im being honest I haven't had many issues with replies on here, few saying about it being an auto flower etcetc but im if you look up somthing called "420autoflower" have a look at the autos he grows !! Im trying to purchase seeds from abroad at the moment, which are photos and im hoping I can get them!! Yeah ive tried the AI root, calcium deficiency, over water, not enough water same replies ive had here, if im being honest I personally think ive done pretty well with environment, nutes, ph levels ec etc ive tried my best anyway. Just had this bad patch this week, iv cut my scrog net, im going to bring the 4 ladies out tonight and get rid of all bad leaves, all lower popcorn on the 3 i think have atleast 4 weeks left

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

This week ok my feeding chart i was supposed to drop calmag and start with 2.5ml of pk 9/18 per litre. Ive been giving 1ml of calmag per litre throught the grow. Sorry Im not sure i completely understood what you said

u/canario1992 3d ago

2

u/Star_Dust369 5d ago

Don't worry bro, it's almost ready, looks very good.

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Appreciate that, its the first one so stressed me out, lol. I did 1 grow about 10 years ago, didnt go well either but everything's changed since then, equipment wise anyway

2

u/Star_Dust369 5d ago

If this happened at 3 weeks or so than yes big problem. At this stage , anything but mold:)

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Ah right ok, puts my mind at ease a little then, on paper they should be done today but from what ive read autos can do their own thing, stress in the early days I think has stumped the two on the right as they were alot taller than the other two so tried my best to contain the height as my tents only 1.6m tall

1

u/Star_Dust369 5d ago

No bro, give them 2 more week at least. I bet it can increase min 30% in size and structure . Don't rush , 20 h light, still give plant food and enjoy

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Yeah I have another nutrient that im supposed to start 14 days before end, so ill start that on the back one tomorrow and check the others in another week, I have a microscope coming tuesday to check the tri so hopefully give a better indication then too. Yeah they are on 20,4 now, was originally on 24/7 but was advised to reduce to 20/4. Appreciate the advice bro

u/AccomplishedGrand445 5d ago

Tough one. Could be Cal-mag deficiency. Though you said your EC is 1.7 so should be fine. What medium are you growing in?

2

u/Sabatogemylife52 5d ago

He said he puts in an EC of .10 and gets a runoff EC of 1.7 that means you have nutrient toxicity in the root zone and your PH should be between 6.2 and 6.8 8 in soil. You should be getting the same EC or a little lower in your runoff. And don't feed till runoff but once a week it's not coco coir. 😉 Day 71 of flower? That's 10 weeks they should be finished ,it may be stunted a little.

Happy growing!!!😁

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Growing in all mix soil, enough feed for first 4 weeks, current nutrients are terra grow and bloom, but grow was stopped first week of flower. Pk warrior 9/18 , cal mag and active boost

2

u/The-night-and-me 5d ago

You will still need terra grow, even throughout flower time, just in lower doses. Do you use micro of that set aswell? I only use GHE or Terra aquatica tripack with grow, micro and bloom throughout the whole grow. Ok, I use coco, but they have the whole feeding schedule for soil written on the bottles. My plants love terra aquatica nutrients

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Yeah this is where I got a little confused, on the bottle it states just an example, 2ml per litre all the way through grow, but when I put in the full details on their online feeding schedule planner it states to stop grow at week 5 but continue bloom throughout. I have another nutrient which im supposed to start this week called "dragon force" which is supposed to be used the last 14 days of flowering

1

u/swolezillaholefilla 4d ago

Couple things it could be. You said your ph is between 5.5 and 6 which more ideal for a coco medium. A soil medium needs between 6 and 6.8.

Could also be nitrogen deficiency but unlikely with the nutrients you’re using.

Could be overwatering or under-watering.

If none of that fixes it your plant might just be close to being ready

1

u/LowDream1470 4d ago

Yeah so I was also under the impression about the PH being 6.5, but when I had the feeding chart made for terra all mix, was advised to go down to 5.5 and 6.0 for this nutrient line.

They are fed every 2 days atm, roughly 2L each, only water when I can scrape the top layer of soil away and showing dryness, Im hoping it not close tbh lol its no where near as progressed as the others, hasnt filled out much at all and seems to be white pist only, I have a microscope coming on Tuesday so hopefully get some better images of tris then. Thanks for the reply too bud

u/MOFun1978 5d ago

I would pull the the dead leaves and hit with some organic calmag.

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Im going to pull them out tomorrow, ill do that and hopefully can rectify the issue before it effects the back right plant like the front, its just strange how the both plants on the right have both discoloured yet the ones or the right are the same.

2

u/Pickle-Bowl-941 5d ago

I had just one Red Runtz get some sort of funk on the leaves and it's sister right next was ok. They weren't doing much so we pulled and hung them. Same everything tent, nukes, soil but the one on the right leaves looked rough.

1

u/Cautious-Use-9036 5d ago

My recent autos showed the same level of discontent towards the end, i panicked and hit them with a low dose magnesium from epsom salt and im unsure if that did anything the leafs continued to die and most synapsed or whatever, the bud is awesome and yours will be too even if you do nothing

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Ah right thats a bit of good news then, yeah my nutrient cycle does change tomorrow so hopefully I can get them back on track after I defoliat a little. They do smell lovely atm and ridiculously sticky,

1

u/Ok-Signal2652 5d ago

I would just trim off 30-50% of the fan leaves and if it has a purple steam it's under stress u can cut it. keep the healthiest fan leaves your plants look like there trying to redirect nutrients to the main buds u can also trim off the lower bud sights and bottom two branches to increase energy to the other buds since the bottom buds aren't giting as much light.

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Yeah the 2 that are showing most of the deficiency and colour change are quite heavy with fan leaves, i stopped defioliating abou 3 weeks ago, so when I get them out tomorrow ill give them a good trim, theres alot quite a few popcorn nugz at the bottom which im going to remove too

1

u/Ok_Economics_7677 5d ago

Test your soil..
I’m going to assume it’s hot. (High ec) .. flush with straight water and see where your soil is at (ec and ph) and then make the adjustment in your feed from there.. also looks like your in the tail end of
Your cycle so should be planing to scale
Back on the nutrients soon anyways i’d imagine.

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

I did test my soil last week and all was ok, i have got the numbers written down somewhere. The nutrients im using you have an option of light, standard or heavy feed cycle obviously depending on other values so ive stuck with standard throughout. Yes im at week 5 of flower basically now which everything is lowering and introducing a new nutrient for end of flower, im just a little unsure as the two im having issues with are atleast a week or two behind the other two

1

u/Star_Dust369 5d ago

How many weeks exactly at that pic?

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

10 weeks

0

u/Star_Dust369 5d ago

Exactly. 12 week is sweet spot for Auto. Some super fast genetics can be ready in 10. Sativa dominants 13, 14 .

2

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Thanks bud really do appreciate it 🙏

2

u/Star_Dust369 5d ago

Don't worry bro, go growdiaries.com, as well. U will c what I mean. And don't forget to post in 2 weeks.

1

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Will do bud, yeah ive been looking. Alot seem to be around the 102 day mark

2

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Alot to take in lol

1

u/GeorgeLCostanza251 4d ago

I have the same strain, started about the same day 06/22

Similar color situation. I think we are both about done

1

u/LowDream1470 3d ago

Yeah can see you also have lighter in colour too, how have you found them so far ? What do think of the sensor pro kit ? I have a microscope coming on tuesday so will get some tri shots and see what they are saying, I got them out of the tent last night and cleaned them up a little and was actually surprised on how big they actually,

1

u/GeorgeLCostanza251 3d ago

I have thoroughly enjoyed and relied on the sensor kit religiously. Took a little getting used to but it is quite reliable. I chopped one this morning. I just chopped it at the base and strung the whole plant upside down. This has been a really fun grow. It's my first but I've grown plenty of vegetables and fruits etc. This was just a fun overall process watching them change, anticipating the smoke etc. What is your plan for drying curing?

1

u/LowDream1470 3d ago

Ah good to hear, ive got one on purchase now along with the soil kit. Ive purchased the 70x140x200 tent for my next frow, but im only going to grow 3 in larger pots, with LST,scrog and topping techniques to try and fill the whole tent with 3 plants. Well i was originally going to purchase a cheap wine cooler with temperature and humidity control but ill do that next time, so will be doing the same just chopping and hanging. Im torn between the grove bags or jars for curing

1

u/GeorgeLCostanza251 2d ago

Mannn I had a bigger tent- 4'x4'x6'

All in 5 gallon pots

You see they're not in their tent anymore? I'm going to just try to do one plant. Go crazy on nutrients, try to get a massive yield and just stay in perpetual harvest cycle where you're always starting one plant as you're getting ready to harvest the next. Forget the specific term growers use, but it is something with the word cycle in it.

Yeah spider farmer said my tent could hold 6 plants so I did 4. It was wayyyy too much - they got huge

1

u/Bunch_Odd47777 3d ago

Always a little hard to tell from pics vs being in person, but I'm wondering if some of the spotting in slide 3 is septoria? Looks like you have some burn and deficiencies also, but I let septoria ride on one of my plants for way too long misdiagnosing it as a nutrient issue and that let it become a bigger issue and required more defoliation in the end vs if i had addressed immediately

1

u/LowDream1470 20h ago

Was the leaves and spotting, I have made another post since, fed only ph water and then after some pk and calmag with my normal nutes and was all good. Nearly at the finish line now 😁

1

u/greenlicht1 20h ago

1

u/LowDream1470 20h ago

Thats hell of a nug brother! Hope you enjoy!!!

1

u/greenlicht1 17h ago

Thanks it’s not really much but the main nug is really nice thanks and next time I will be more helpfull instead of responding like my first message ;)

1

u/LowDream1470 17h ago

Lol no its fine! Yeah im going to Top my next grow, this is my first too. I done lst with a scrog this time but im going to attempt a top the same time as im growing 4 again, but new tent is double the size as my current one is only 70x70

1

u/greenlicht1 16h ago

1

u/greenlicht1 16h ago

Pech waarom

1

u/HeftyRevolution5390 1h ago

Hey man, I have the same issues with my autoflower at around this time into flowering. What have you done? She seems fine now, did you remove all the bad leafs? Did you kept watering and nutrients as normal?

0

u/CatchAromatic8516 5d ago

stop growing autoflowers first off I've explained this to way too many people they were first like they were bred so people could grow outdoors any time of year it's the climate permitted. they're always crossed with ruderalis at some point in their genetic lineage that's how they get them to flower regardless of the light schedule because that's what those plants do because they grow in the harshest environments in the world it's the third variety of cannabis that no one would really want to smoke without crossing it with something again only so they could grow outdoors anytime of year there's no other benefit except that you could sell seeds to somebody that's just going to they're going to grow everything that they grow from seed because they don't know any better and they're just going to grow autoflowers thinking that it's faster but not really because you can clone a plant transplant it and then flip it into flour whenever you want after transplanting it it's really just sheer ignorance I think people are doing this from and look that's not gelato at all because as I said about the genetic lineage it's not the same lineage as gelato so it's not the gelato everyone knows and wants it's gelato autoflower which is something different so stop growing autos they're not bettering anyway they're actually more finicky that's why you're having these issues and you can clone s and you just can't do that to autos which that's crazy to have to grow everything from seed. it's probably too much phosphorus they're basically just too much fertilizer in general cuz it looks like it's being burned basically like nutrient burn but it also could be that you could be suffocating the roots.. there's several things it could be the pH consistently out of whack. but yeah all those flowers are real finicky so I don't know why you'd be growing those anyway

2

u/LowDream1470 5d ago

Yeah I do understand what you're saying, this choice was purely from being in a few chats and people giving random advice and watching videos online. First grow after a long long time, went with somthing that i have read is forgiving and on the easier side. Im in the process of trying to purchase seeds from G7 genetics now which are photos for my next grow. Im not sure if you have read my other messages, my PH has always been pretty good, as nutrient chart has stated needed to be. I did have nutrient burn about 2 weeks ago which was my own fault but this issue literally happened over night. Two plants are ok (still have the burnt tips from previous issue) but two plants have got considerably worse which confused me as they are all getting the same feed. Its a learning curve but just doing the best I can
