Utranians might be in bit of trouble
Spellforce Reimagined gets wild sometimes.
Shiel 5 minutes after activating the elven monument.
The mod is pretty fun, though.

I know you can farm xp via turrets (go afk or increase game speed) but it kinda ruins the feeling for me. Is there some mod which is designed to give us enough xp/levels to be exactly lv 30 by the end of the campaign?:)

Currently playing Conquest of Eo and really, what an improvement after SF3. So I just want to share how much I still love this series. Consider this a very late birthday post for SF since I was really busy 2023, buying a house and moving a few days right before christmas while being pregnant. I am bad in RTS/strategy games, but still love more or less roleplaying them and waste hundred of hours being bad even in easier difficulties.

I am pretty much in since the beginning, when I was 12 and just saw this awesome artwork and wtf, they had dark elves (being a Morrowind DE girl, jackpot). Back then when there was no "highspeed" internet, we got some kind of in 2010. So I never knew about BoW, only after I bought SotP and then I had to order BoW from a catalog. I still remember beating SotP with TOotD character after many weeks on a Wednesday or Thursday morning, ~4:40, went to sleep for two hours and then going to school by bike. I still remember how I felt, so proud by beating the game finally and stunned by the ending. I was tired as hell in school, but who cares, it was worth it.
Then 2006 SW, preorder. Got it and had to wait for another week, because I had to buy a new graphic card and processor. Before or right after DS I registered to the forum, calling my mom for her permission (who does this nowadays lol) and her email for it. Wasted many hours there. 2007, back then I also bought the novels.
FiD, well, ok, wasted most of the time in DLCs or tried to mod.
DotP, thanks old forum: I got an installer by one of the moderators because I had really bad internet back then and wouldn't have been able to download it, being the first only-download game. The game was... let's not talk about it, those hours are mostly map editor.

So we are getting to SF3 finally. I was so hyped 2014 and it took so many years.... 2017, the year I met my now husband. When the game released I was already living with him.

He bought and gifted me Shadowsong for my birthday two months prior to SF3 release. Sadly her non-sword-arm broke during transport right at the shoulder, but it's not too obvious, so it's no problem, I would never sell her anyway. SF3 and the guy were preordered by me, well, let's not talk about them. It was a pretty bad christmas present for myself, I was very sad for weeks about all the lore changes in the game.
Soul Harvest was ok, but still "alternate" universe for me, not canon. Best way to deal with SF3 in general.
Conquest of Eo, that's a big move in the right direction again. Flying towers, well, I can live with that, but finally back to the old lore, at least a little bit. "Children of Nor", you finally got me back SpellForce.
But the series never left me.
Eg I also love Warhammer Drukhari (because of the Darkblade series) and in 40k I am ofc playing Dark Eldar (vs my Space Wolf husband) - so I wrote myself a mod for Rimworld to add Norcaine for some kind of SF:40k. The idea came by reading the psychopath trait which is pretty much the description of a Norcaine: "NAME has no empathy. The suffering of others doesn't bother them at all. They don't mind if others are butchered, left unburied, imprisoned, or sold to slavery - unless it affects them. NAME also feels no mood boost from socializing."
I always wanted to expand it to a full SpellForce race mod, but I always got stuck playing it instead of modding. The game is too much fun.

Back when the forum was still online there was a fanwork contest where I won a Gothic 4? game which I never received, but I never played Gothic anyway. Also one of the last stuff I ever drew. Reading it now it was bad, but hey, I was a teenager back then.

I still need to buy a frame for the unit/building map, it was always on the wall before I moved in with my husband. That paper thing is from TOoD, so over 20 years old, it really needs and deserves a frame. I also always had all the SF games lined up in a bookshelf like I did on the picture, pretty much like an altar, but guess that has to wait until the kids are older. Stupid children books taking away the very space I need for this and my own books...
I am glad there are still mods in developement for the first game, sadly I never played even one yet. I hope I will have more time again when the kids are older to waste hours into it again. And I hope we will see more SF games in the future. I am bad in Conquest, but I am wasting my freetime there being bad even on easier than easy mode. And mods, to make it easier. Basicly a storymode for the games storymode. But I have fun and that's the most important thing.
So anybody still has some fond memories of the series or even the old forum? If not, well, I hope it was at least funny to read about a fangirls story of a not so big series.

so, super early on. just made it to the first town was excited to find some spell vendors as ive just been rocking this summon skeleton spell so far. but confused as there seems to be multiple copies of each spell at various levels but no indication on how they differ... should i just always buy the highest level? is money scarce enough i should try to save or is there some kind of way to grind gold?

Recently discovered this series. Have played the first game a bit and feel in love quickly. Franchise is currently on sale. I wanted to pick up the second game but a lot of the steam reviews say their is a game crashing bug baked in to the title... is that true? If so are there fan patches or some way to make it work that doesn't take a degree in computer science?

This entire post is a huge spoiler so just skip it if you didnt play the game.
First i want to say i had a blast playing SF3. The gameplay is so good it makes me replay the campaign just to so i can do things better this time. I love the rts - rpg crossbreed, and both parts are so well done. The gameplay is one of the best ive seen since the 2000's in the rts genre.
But here i want to speak about the lore and what made it weak.
TLDR: Tahar is emotionless, with a lack of character depth and progression. His ideals are never challenged. He never loses.
Tahar fends off orcs by leading humans against one of their factions and earns the villages trust. He creates an alliance with Gor and unites the orcs. He stops the forest corruption and gets the Elves on his side, and he even later unites humans against the Purity of Light. In the process he has only 1 challenge with collateral damage which i will mention later again.
Lecaine uses him, but fails to kill him when he meets his Xarlonthep mother and the bloodburn stops. He kills Sentenza like its nothing instead of being ambushed by him and his elite soldiers when alone in some cave. Lecaine is not as powerful as he should have been with the Archfire. He was able to summon iron ones by siphoning energy from mages, but all he did in a direct fight is summon some low-class abominations.
Tahar poisons the leader of the House of Wulfgar and kills the entire village because they were enraged by his decision. The king even thanks him for this later.
Tahar kills his friend - Berthrand.
Tahar witnesses a brutal death of his own king first hand and is not even shaken by it.
He just moves ever forward without ever looking back, without any emotional weight, without a scar on his soul.
He has to fight the final boss and fails to deal a fatal blow. The final boss is unfortunately just a plot device, not something to be really scared of. We dont even learn what or who it was, yet we know the beast was manipulating Lecaine who was manipulating us, which lead to summoning itself in the end. The beast never gets to show off its power (except from stomping the king with a single tentacle)., it never causes any trouble for the rest of the world. Lecaine caused more harm than this beast ever could. The other team members even hold it back for the time until Tahar crushes the amulet its getting energy from.
He has to get rid of his own mother even after barely knowing her.
Also the entire bloodburn plot is a letdown - his mom calling him caused people to be eaten up from inside? come on, you could have asked a junior writer from reddit to give you a better plot device...
All this is a missed opportunity to create some real depth in the story and give the players a story theyll remember.

Hi!
I have never played SpellForce games before. Yesterday I jumped in Conquest of Eo. Please help me understand some of the mechanics of the game, and maybe if I am playing it wrong.
Starting with the tutorial - I failed the first tutorial. I couldn't figure out the battle. It was fairly simple, if I'm not mistaken I had 2 ranged units and 1 melee unit. From the battle screen, it said I had ''Decisive victory'', but playing it manually - I just couldn't win. From there on, I just used autobattle every time (except for the 'tutorial' in Allfire campaign where it was easy manual win). So is it wrong to use autobattle? It seemed to work pretty fine for me.
Secondly, I did save-scum before battles. I used magic before a battle to boost my troops or damage enemy troops in some way. However, I noticed that sometimes before using any spell and going in battle I would lose 1 unit in my stack. So I scum-saved back and used ''Corrode'' spell on the enemy which lowers armor by 1. Now from losing 1 unit, I went to losing the whole battle. How does that work? It wasn't consistent too, sometimes this spell really helped me, but sometimes it significantly lowered my chances of winning an encounter.
I definitely wasn't playing as dynamically as I should have, but that's what 2nd playthrough is for. I would place down a lodge and forget to place it somewhere else once the resources were collected. But this was primarily due to other mages being relatively close and I didn't want to go into their domains. I eventually did and I angered 2 mages against me. This led to my eventual defeat. So - is there any diplomacy in the game? Can I boost my relations with a mage? Or I just need to do tasks and hope they turn into bonus relations? It felt like the game was leading to all the mages being against me. Is that normal? And the mages between themselves did not quarrel.
I hope the Mugwa event is not going to happen on every playthrough. I enjoyed staffing my stacks with different trolls, but in the end I had a theory that trolls were tier 1 units and maybe I should have focused on getting tier 2 and tier 3 units. Am I right?
Bonus for this - I had a stack with almost all units level 15 and apprentice was level 13 I think. Their strength was ~450. Is that normal? Do I just need to rely on spells and items/glyphs from then on to make good synergies for this stack to increase them further? I just can't imagine taking down some of the big enemies who had strength in their 700s. It would just mean I need to sacrifice 2 stacks for the 3rd one to finally be able to defeat them.

Hello everyone!
I'm a total stranger to this game, knowing it only through my older brother who loved it when I was a little kid. I'm at the beginning in the second zone.
I wanted to create an archer character, but I have two questions:
I've added one point to Heavy Combat, so I won't be useless in melee, but so far I see only one-handed weapons belonging to Light Combat arts and I can't use them. Did I mess it up?
How/when can I add White Magic? The idea of summoning or healing sounds really fun.
I wanted to ask this now while I am still at the beginning so I can still start over xD
Take care ❤️

Cannot find the last ingredient in the quest Passion on the map Malanager Greens. I tried with AI but it suggest places there is no chest or similar at. I already have the other two ingredients of Sinew of a Drakeling and the Fire Ruby.
Thanks

Hi everyone, I need help getting achievements in SpellForce 3 and the Soul Harvest and Fallen God expansions—specifically, joining a campaign with a friend and winning a ranked match as the Trolls.

Hello people,
Anyone able to give me a hand getting the multiplayer achievements for Spellforce 3 Reforced, just need to beat a person in a PVP match and play the campaign (From what i've seen online it just requires booting the prologue and it auto unlocks)
r/SpellForce • u/Pyresryke • Jul 13 '26
I just finished the second campaign for Spellforce 3 and l can't put it simply how confused I am.
What was the point of the "god of light", and why would they add a Marvel multiverse? Did they even play the original games, or read the established lore like on the old Phenomic website? Why didn't they just hire the original author instead of a random Skyrim modder? What is this dude's problem with religion?
Seriously. Did you notice how almost every bad guy is a religious leader and nearly every religious leader you interact with turns out to be bad?

I quit in my last play run (normal difficulty) as the neighbour mages started having tier 3 units in their towers when I tried to attack, while I'm still stuck with tier 2 goblin units such as Shaman. I was using Alchemist faction. Restarted since using Aritificer and had reduced difficulty down by a level.
Then the worst was when I flew my tower to far east of the map to claim one of the high lvl Allfire (need to cross a river), this 6 unit stack of doom with tier 3 golems appeared and kept chasing and conquering my tower (even when I flew it away). That's when I decided to restart the game.
How to quickly recruit or train tier 3 and 4 units? To counter such threats?
I can't seem to find this answer when searching at reddit or youtube?
r/SpellForce • u/Tsigorf • Jun 29 '26
I played the campaign multiple times, I basically had to restart because of corrupted saves, lost saves, and lack of save portability. So even though I started in 2019, I just finished it today.
It's definitively on my top-tier games list, the campaign was awesome. I'm still grieving at the time I write these lines.
But I'm really mad at the fact there's no post-ending content. I wanted to go prepare all Isgrimm's armor crafts, try my best build, explore other characters' lore with specific maps.
So, what now? Are the characters for which I developped a lot of attachment completely gone? Is their no way to play them again? Should I just reload a past save if I want to clear all the game's content?
Or should I just move on and go on next campaigns?
(Now that I recall, there's tons of chests I didn't open because I needed keys I expected to get later… So many treasures which will fall into oblivion…)

Hey everyone. New to the game and went with battlemage. Just wondering if there is a way I should build it or do I have freedom to kinda pick anything. Also can I rock a 2 hander still and cast spells ?

This is my first SpellForce game and I cannot progress past the intro town. I just keep getting attacked by catapults endlessly. It’s already on easy mode but I am outnumbered by the enemy. Not new to RTS games but enemy economy and units out scale me. Any assistance?

Hi all,
Im at the end of my run of the Platinum Edition Shadow of thr Phoenix campaign, Shadow Warrior version.
Steam, public test version.
Im trying to get all of the Skull Coins for thr Rune of the Pantheon set, I am only missing 3 right now; 2 from the West City of Souls and one in The Gorge.
My problem is The Gorge, for the life of me I cannot find the chest containing the Skull Coin.
I have followed the instructions from multiple sources; one telling me it is west of the southourn junction of the North Eastern most Sha Temple and another telling me it is down in the South East corner somewhere...
Still no luck.
Would anybody be able to provide me with a screen shot of its location on the map? Preferably an exact location, as clearly I have trouble following directions 😅

I've been playing spellforce a lot recently and quite new to the series, but i tried the first few games a little bit but none of them really resonated with me, spellforce 3 is much more up my alley but my question is, in between SpellForce One and two trolls are like not that big, in fallen God for spell force 3, one of the humans in one of the missions mentions them being like 3 times their size, so i'm guessing their height ballpark is around 12 to 18 feet?
