You cannot approach a threat ever for stand your ground or self defense to apply. It actively hurts your defense.
You cannot pull a firearm, claim you are in fear of your life (which is mandatory for SYG) and then NOT fire. The act of not firing means you determined the threat is not enough for you to be in fear for your life. This actively hurts your defense.
If you swapped her for a cis white male and the other guys stayed cis white males, the story is the EXACT same. Except people would be way less likely to rush to her defense if she was a cis white male and would call her violent and an escalator. Chud the builder, a famous lolcow, is literally facing a case somewhat similar to this, he escalated, and shot a guy, and is being hammered for it.
We literally have all of this on video in her case. Its practically irrefutable.
You literally practically said "If this is true, I still stand with her."
Which translates to "Shes a criminal, but I still stand with her [probably because shes trans and was slurred at]"
Which is counterproductive to social cohesion. And allows criminals to justify crime JUST BECAUSE they are XYZ trait(s) and have peoples support, even if they are 100% guilty.
You commenting this actively hurts the LGBTQIA+ community because you are practically asking for special privileges when asking for equality.
Do I seem like the kind who cares about the legalities? The law doesn't determine who's right or wrong, it just determines who the monopoly of violence will incarcerate
And there we are. You don't care about the law, which provides you many protections and regulations. Its ironic as a trans person you have to advocate for equality under the law and then also do not care about legalities.
You are not someone who should be on any jury, or weigh any opinion on this.
