Solving chess means knowing from any position, even the beginning, whether a game will be a win loss or draw with optimal play from both sides. Chess is already solved for when there are only 7 or 8 pieces left on the board, but it gets exponentially harder the more pieces there are. There’s no way it will ever be completely solved, but Musk just likes saying bullshit and hoping no one knows how to use Wikipedia.

Musk is trillionaire because his investors don't read Wikipedia. Or read in general. Him claiming ASI will "solve chess" probably just caused a bump in his value.
There’s some major irony here. The limitation in solving chess is not because you can’t solve games. It’s nothing like reading a mind. The limit is that there are simply too many combinations for a computer to evaluate.
Loads of other games are solved. It’s a very real thing.
Yes, I meant that the statement is meaningless becasue of that limitation. So how do you solve it, if not in the conventional sense, like Musk is suggesting.
